Comfortable bed Clean and well equipped Delicious breakfast Pretty gardens
There was no shower attachment in the bath
Family owned guest house, with wonderful room and breakfast.
The owner was nice and made you feel like you were at home. The bath was big enough and looks really nice. The breakfast was really good, the owner cooks all things herself
Although there was a bath, the room lacked a shower. I only stayed for one night so i didn't really mind about this.
The owner had excellent customer focus and it was a wonderful stay.
Beautifully comfortable and homely place to return to at the end of an eventful day of touring historic Salisbury. Quiet, plenty to read while relaxing and a wonderful bed. Sarah made us feel welcome and gave us a delicious breakfast plus advice on where to dine. I would definetely recommend my friends to stay there. Thank you Sarah!
The welcome was like visiting an old friend. Sarah was very helpful and made a terrific breakfast. The conservatory was delightful place to have breakfast. Really enjoyed our stay.
Steep stairs. Hard to get bags up to room.
real hospitality fantastic breakfast fantastic collection of travel- and photobooks
- a great welcome - nice breakfast - charming room and decoration - chatting with Sarah
- there was no headshower in the bath ( which could be a problem for elderly people)
The welcome, the comfort, the wonderful breakfast.
We would haver liked a shower, but everything else was superb.
A genuine, friendly welcome . Very willing to accommodate us as to arrival time. Breakfast was a real treat- the home made muffins were irresistible!
Can't think of a thing!
Quaint location about 15 min walk from center of town. Sarah was wonderful - gave us dinner recommendations and provided a lovely breakfast. We had the whole second floor - two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and sitting room. Very comfortable rooms and modern bathrooms. A true small B&B with two rooms to let.
I was a bit freaked out by the large picture in the living room. Not a great first impression. But it all turned out great!
The house was great - quirky with its steep little staircase and low ceilings. Loved the breakfast and enjoyed chatting to Sarah.
A dream stay! Sarah was a fabulous host. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The conservatory where we had breakfast was stunning and the breakfast itself was beautifully cooked. I would definitely recommend this B & B to anybody.
Getting heavy luggage up the steep staircase was difficult... other than that NOTHING!
Attention to detail and very friendly owner.
The owner was unbelievably accommodating and very friendly--she greeted us with a cold beverage and a snack. The breakfasts were delicious (much more variety that you usually see at a B&B), and the bed was wonderfully comfortable. We paid to stay in the king room, and had a lovely view of the garden, and a large bathtub en suite.
It's a bit far from the city centre compared to other places we looked at, but this is reflected in the (very reasonable) price. Still a walkable distance.
Extremely friendly, personable B&B. I enjoyed so much and slept so well, that I immediately re-booked the B&B for my next business trip in the area. Can't recommend highly enough and really looking forward to my next visit. The breakfast is as good as it looks in the pictures.
Excellent breakfast. Room with character
It was a lovely traditional house and inside was very stylishly and homely furnished. It felt very warm & cosy but traditionally chic. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic and super tasty. It was absolutely amazing place to stay and we hope to return one day.
Wonderful breakfast served in the solarium which looks out onto a gorgeous yard and a great, newly renovated bathroom ensuite to the bedroom.
The room felt a bit too much like someone's spare bedroom with lots of odd personal knickknacks about and the bed was not particularly cormfortable.
Great welcome - small but well appointed room - splendid breakfast - engaging hostess
18th century staircase !
The proprietor was very helpful, and the parking was close and convenient. In addition, the view from our room and the breakfast area looked out into a gorgeous back garden.
I booked what was supposed to be a room with a king-sized bed and a bathtub with a shower attachment, but the bed turned out to only be a full size (which wasn't quite long enough for my husband) and there was no shower, only a bathtub. It was only for one night, so we made it work, but if you choose to book with Merivale House, you may want to contact the proprietor directly to confirm your room details.
Character house with lots of homely bits and pieces around the place. Received a very warm welcome with a lovely pot of tea and piece of cake. Rooms had everything you could possibly require including a great range of teas/coffees etc. Breakfast was excellent - all freshly cooked to order.
Hospitality, breakfast, comfort, guest lounge
En-suite cramped, WC/water flush noisy - macerator never nice!
Friendly homely atmosphere, coffee and cake on arrival. Beautiful garden
