My wife and I have stayed in this hotel 3 times now, and will continue to do so-a great budget hotel!
Felt like a £70-£80 hotel room for half that price! Staff really friendly 24hr porter who happily got us extra milk and teabags for the kettle. After reading the reviews I asked on the form for a room away from noisy doors and also a firm bed & the Staff obviously made the effort to do this as the room was amazing. Great decor, Lots of space, plenty of sockets, MASSIVE LCD TV, (Room 45 is fantastic!). Breakfast would have been a steal at £3 for one or £5 for two (in the room but there was a little table and chairs in ours), but we decided that as Tesco's Cafe is just down the road along with Domino's, Next etc. we would pop there for a fry up instead. Taxi into town is £10 and if you use Andy cabs supposedly its the same back to the hotel even after midnight. I would certainly use the orchard again Over any "national" budget brand if the price stays the same as even with the taxi fare into town (there are also buses) Its cheaper for the same standard of quality if not a bit better!
Got a little lost finding it but gave them a call. The turning into the car park is IMMEDIATELY on the left as you turn off the Bristol road onto Olympus Industrial park, coming out of town. We couldnt decide if it was just because we are now used to foam mattresses and not springs, plus a good nights drinking, but with two in the bed it wasnt the greatest nights sleep but it wasn't "soft" just a bit wobbly. Far better than the other options (youth hostel dorm etc.) at such a reasonable price.
Simple no-fuss check in. Easy to find room. Good sound insulation so no traffic noise. Spotless bathroom with enough room to move.
Room itself was crampedl. Colour of decor and furniture (brown & black) depressing.
teamaking facilities, big television, excellent value.
BIN in bathroom full on arrival, otherwise can't fault.
The price - £35 per night The room - clean, reasonably equipped, shower worked, kettle with coffee and plenty of milk. The staff - polite and efficient. The location - good if you're visiting the North East of the city, access to the M5 is great.
The parking - although the car park seems a good size you can't get in for white vans (far more than could be staying at the hotel). The breakfast - at this price you wouldn't expect any, and there isn't - I didn't take up the offer of a continental served in my room!
Big TV, lots of tea bags.
Lack of staff in reception, cat in lobby. Given twin room but asked for a double.
Friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Continental breakfast unbelievable value, excellent choice and delivered to our room on time. I would certainly use this hotel again.
Could do with more parking spaces. Shower room a little cramped but adequate. Small room so if staying longer than a couple of nights could be a problem.
Simple budget hotel. Close to eateries.
Sink didn't look very clean and mugs in the room were filthy. Smelt of stale smoke.
Friendly staff. Efficient Booking system (knew us immediately with no searching). Easy to find. Very clean hotel foyer and the room was just as clean. Close to plenty of Restaurants and pubs (can highly recommend Harvester). No noise heard from either the other guests or from the road.
Room was very compact. No Wardrobe space only a rack which overhung the bed and dressing table. Lighting could be better as the main light was very dim. Would prefer individual wall lights over the twin beds instead of the table lamp between them. Only a Continental Breakfast available.
Warm comfortable and clean and very quiet
Nice warm room and big TV, excellent breakfast with plenty of toast etc and great value, so glad we ordered it, we will definitely stay here again if in the area and have already told fiends about this great place.
There was nothing we did not like
All was perfect apart from very very poor signage. driving round in circles trying to locate.Had to ask a cab driver eventually.
Poor outside lighting limited parking and limited lit signage.
Friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Late check in availability -reception 24 hour. Adequate tea & coffee available. Convenient location for where we needed to be
Great TV straight at the end of the bed. Fantastic shower
Very modern, clean, very good value. Was a bit odd having all the furniture padded
Walls are very thin, can hear everything from other rooms. Also, the light in bathroom strobed.
Great great great!!! Very good stay, lovely lady who came to out room and asked if we needed more pillows, shower great, everything was superb... Will deffo be back... The only thing I could say but I'm only picking would be the bed not that comfortable but was fair,
Working the next day or I would have stayed another night!
Good value buffet breakfast. Very pleasant staff. Very comfortable bed. Large screen TV. Ample tea & coffee in room.
Car park - small, because building work is a hindrance. On outskirts of city, but buses pass close by.
Friendly efficient welcome, a clean good sized room and en- suite, and an excellent Breakfast served in the room at the time requested. Don't let anyone tell them they don't charge enough, it's just that everyone else charges too much! Would not hesitate to stay there again.
There was nothing to dislike!
Cheap Helpful staff That it has reopened so soon (see below) & had positive reviews on bookig.con The security van helpfully making sure I'd give the right direction towards the holiday inn
The logic of the process executed to evict guests "because the hotel has gone into administration" 1) I overheard news of the imminent closure in the lobby at 09:45 hrs. 2) This was not communicated to me, despite several interactions with hotel staff later that morning 3) going out to the shops at approx 3pm, as I was leaving the building I was informed I would not be allowed back inside once I'd left, due to receivership blah blah 4)Oddly, other guests were still in their rooms. Presumably oblivious to events. 5) my point that since these guests were still resident, it had not been informed, is incosistent with me having to leave instantly, clearly troubled the receivership team. Aware of how awkward I'd made them feel, I threw then a bone & offered to leave within 3 minutes. 6) hard to find/recognise based on googling historical/ current hotel images
Rooms were modern and comfortable. Large tv and a few homely touches. The beds were very comfortable as were the bedding and pillows. The reception staff were warm and welcoming.
Whilst the bedroom was clean the bathroom was not. Mouldy sealant around shower and some excrement on the toilet. This would not deter me from staying again and had I not of arrived very late with small children I probably would of asked for the bathroom to be cleaned again.
The best budget hotel we have stayed, our bedroom and bathroom was spotless.I liked the imitation leather furniture. 52in TV.location good, the harvester and beefeater mins away, parking good.breakfast A1 all for £45 pn
Very helpful friendly staff. Very clean. Very comfortable. Free Parking.
Convenient location and cost. Comfortable and functional
As we expected.
