With family-friendly rooms and a Table Table restaurant, this Premier Inn hotel is just off the A3, close to Petersfield Train Station, a 20 minute drive from Portsmouth and the South Coast.
Score from 120 reviews Good
Its easy location while on the move - it was very convenient.
The location and the price
A lot of noise from the traffic on the A 3 .
Very good value, but still clean and rooms well equipped with power outlets, TV, Microwave and Fridge. Wireless usually reliable and included in room rate. Plenty of parking and well situated for local services.
It does always look like it needs tidying (but it isn't dirty)
Everything was okay
Great value for money. Spacious room. Good shower. Clean sheets. Warm room.
No towel rail in bathroom. Paint chipped on bathroom door. Mould on bathroom tiles. Carpet not very clean. Tea stains in cups.
no hot water
The carpet was badly stained, the room smelt damp, the bathroom floor was dirty and there were toe nail clippings from previous occupants on the floor!
£35 per night, Wi-fi was good and strong in my room.
Staff smoking at main entrance. Dated and perished decor.
Adequate facilities in a reasonable position. Perfectly acceptable for those one or 2 night stays
Nothing to speak of.
Basic crash accommodation. Good value for money. Hot water and good wifi.
Settee cover was grubby. Toilet cistern refilled very slowly and needed a tad of manipulation to flush!
Friendly, helpful and approachable staff. Warm welcome. Room better facilities than expected. Storage heaters to keep us warm, to the point where we had to open the windows to cool down. Bed incredibly comfortable. We will definitely return.
I didn't dislike anything. However could improve by offering shampoos and shower gel and possibly use of a hair dryer.
Staff very friendly, excellent service. Good location.
Booked a twin bedded room but when arrived none available. Very soft mattress Sofa bed uncomfortable Heating not very effective Guests very noisy in the room above - poor insulation No fridge as advertised. No hot water in the morning Toilet cistern not working properly, very noisy all night. Cracked mirror in the main room Old stained carpets Tired decor
A3 was shut for roadworks and it took ages to get through. Room stank. No hot water in evening or at 7.30am
Beautiful fresh smell and this stay I had one of the re-furnished rooms. Excellent value for money.
Stranded coming back to the Lodge due to the road works on the A3 but thanks to some very kind workmen they escorted me to my destination.
Cost and convenience. Staff handled problem with A3 closure pretty well, although had we known the road was closing we could have returned before closure.
Waiting on a bridge over the A3, in the cold, for 30 mins awaiting an escort from the Highway Agency as, unbeknown to us, the road had been closed overnight for maintenance.
Nothing. Very poor hotel.
There was no cold water in the bedroom so had to switch rooms, to a room where the hot water trickled out. The door handle falls off every time you pull it and also the toilet did not flush. The quality of the room is extremely poor and I would not recommend this hotel at all.
It was great staff very helpful.big tv.microwave.fridge .
No hot water. No wear to get food .so didnt need microwave. Mattress protector stained. Windows didnt shut properly very drafty. Shower stuck on wall so could not just wash hair.
Price and location
No hot water at all. Cold. Had to bring blankets and hot water bottles in from car.
size of TV, free wifi
No hot water...ever No plug in bath (nor a spare when I asked until the next day) which was irrelevant though as there was no hot water....ever
Everything you need at a great price
Cold shower in the morning!
Check in was so unprofessional the lady on reception had no system so got us to sign in on a bit of paper not how it should be done she then left us standing there for 10 min to sort us out a room as the system was down on the way to the room I saw broken machines coved up with what I want to say looked like blue bags the cleaning staff trolley was out on top of the stairs not a look you want I think the room was so dirty maked bed linen the carpet had not been hooverd at all and as for the bathroom the whole plaice was just nasty will never stay again
Rooms clean and tidy. Nice to have microwave
Rooms require decorating, lights in carpark don't work . Lights on building not working.
Lack of breakfast
The Wi-fi was ok. The staff were well meaning, but clearly demoralised and exasperated.
This place is easily the worst hotel I've stayed in in 15 years of traveling around the globe and the first time I've felt compelled to write about one. I wish I'd read the other reviews! Above anything else, this place is FILTHY. I actually don't think this place is ever cleaned. They do change your bedding and towels, but I don't think anyone vacuums, cleans surfaces, washes out the bath and they DEFINITELY NEVER clean the toilets. The first thing that greets you as you enter the car park (at night) is the lack of lighting. 2 out of maybe 10 sodium floods are working. Then, as you approach the main door, it seems that there has been a break in or something? The front door is a mess, with wood filler and a lame Yale night latch replacing where the locks used to be. Note this place is not staffed at night, you're on your own, with barely any external lighting and a lock you can jimmy with a credit card as protection. On interior doors, there are many signs stating "IF YOU ARE NOT A PAYING GUEST AT THIS HOTEL, YOU MUST SIGN IN". Clearly they have a problem with people who are not meant to be in the building. Into the corridor, it stinks. A combination of damp, dust and microwaved pasty combined with miserable, hastily painted white walls - just another attempt to disguise the Travelodge 'heritage'. Into the room, the first thing that greets you is a new smell; the smell of FILTH. Yes, I don't think my room had been cleaned since Travelodge shut up shop however many years ago. Again, some poor attempts to disguise the previous owner's decor has weathered quickly and really, it feels like I'm in a squat. The carpet is grim, I didn't want to take my shoes off. You can see the grime. Now into the bathroom. Proof that there is no cleaner. Someone's extraneous toilet roll from a previous 'evacuation' litters the floor.
