It was convenient and economic. The toilets were dirty. There were very many young drunk and very noisy hotel residents staying overnight.

It was close to the airport The room was filthy. The so-called non-smoking room absolutely stunk of stale cigarette smoke - so much so that people we met the next day told us we smelled like we'd been smoking. The noise was ridiculous - the hotel was completely full of extremely drunken (and to be frank, intimidatory) people on stag & hen nights and we (2 adults and a 5-year old) got about 1 hour's sleep. On one occasion sometime after midnight we were woken up by someone banging furiously on our door, apparently 'for a laugh'. Clearly there is a market for stag & hen night accommodation in Newcastle, but it should be made very clear on the hotel website that this hotel is *extremely* noisy. £40 is nowhere near enough a low enough price for this type of accommodation

The staff were very helpful about taxi and where to eat. It was warm and heating in the room could be controlled by me. easy access to the Toby carvery next door and hot/ cold drinks and snacks available in the foyer of the hotel nothing displeased me, it was what it said on the website, cheap and cheerful and basic. I had expected more noise as it was full and yet I was not aware of any excessive noise from the groups.slept well and the shower an toilets were adequate.

Well I can safely say I will never be staying at the metro inn in newcastle again, there were 4 of us, two young couples we were travelling from picking a new car up and stopped over at the metro inn for a night to get a sleep before our travel back home the next day, unfortunately we got no sleep the noise was unreal from loads off young people coming in from nightclubs even before they left to go out they were all over the place, felt very intimidated walking to the shared toliets! At 2 o'clock in the morning a group off drunken guys were trying to kick our room door in, we ended up trying to phone the holiday inn next door as we couldn't sleep after that but there was no answer so we had to sit up all night listen to all the young drunken people running back and forward from room to room shouting, screaming hanging out there windows! It was unreal we couldn't wait to get out the place! I would advice never to take children to this place!!!

Absolutely nothing!! Staff were unfriendly, the room had not been cleaned properly and had spit stains on the walls, the tv reception was very poor, no plug in the sink, only one socket in the room which the tv was plugged into the toilets were absolutely disgusting later in the evening would not recommend this place to anyone!!! Filthy and disgusting. Location was good for the A1.

The beds had fleas all of my friends woke up with bite marks, The lights in the toilets/ showers went off during use. For the 3 nights I stayed, I had to shower in the dark. Would not stay there again.

Convenient location - very accessible to both the city centre and airport due to close proximity to the metro. Plenty of shops located close to the hotel too. Rooms and facilities are very basic. The hotel feels like it was put together to cater for people as cheaply as possible; there is no touch of comfort to the individual rooms.

I think the value for money is unbeatable this is the second time I have stayed here as the location is ideal .It was full of stag and hen parties drinking in the foyer in the early evening (is this legal?),so I was worried about the noise at night ,however I needn't have been as it was completely quiet I think the gentleman manning the front desk probably had something to do with this so well done. Bedroom wasn't very clean this time and the windowsill appeared to be hanging off the wall.

Convenience - just off the A1, handy for touring area, shopping, stop off for Scotland. Excellent shower facilities even though they were shared. Budget price Not really a dislike, but would have been nice to have tea/coffee making facilities in room

Cheap and good for groups. The staff where very friendly. Vending machines, microwave and kettles avalible down stairs for use ( bring ur own tea and coffee and make it the vending machine for hot drinks is horrendous!) Filthy toiles, broken blinds, 1 plug socket, only light in the room is 1 on the mirror .... but I loved it we had a laugh and for the price you cant complain. Would just recommend to take flip flops and antibacterial wipes. :)

I stopped at an Etap hotel a couple of years ago, which was the worse hotel experiance of my life and promised myself I would never stop in one again. When booking for my recent trip, I knew that Metro Inns was part of the Accor group (same as Etap) and was seriously considering not booking but at £40 per room which is £12 more than etap I thought it must be better than Etap. When we arrive, I was shocked. No shower or toilet in the rooms????? Left over food in the toilet????? Dust and dirt all over the room???? If the room cost £10 per room, I would still have been disappointed. I guess next time, I will take advantage of the £28 per room offer at premier Inn. Muxch better, much cleaner and you don't have to share toilets and showers with tramps.

It is not a hotel, but a base for the students who come to Newcastle to get drunk and disorderly. Well, there should be a place for such establishments, but they should not be called hotels. Extremely noisy. Unfriendly neighbours.

It was an inexpensive and last minute bed to sleep in when I arrived after a long day of driving. I was in a hurry to book so I did not read the reviews that clearly states it would be noisy. It was a frat house. It is a budget hotel so I guess, to stereotype, it's young hooligans who need cheaper rooms. As a solo female I was a little uncomfortable when I pulled up and had guys leering at me from the third floor windows. The nice man at the front desk knew it would be noisy and offered to put me on the 3rd floor where it might be less noisy but since I was by myself and those guys were up there I chose to go on the second floor. The room was adequate. A bed to sleep and one plug to charge my stuff. I was able to sleep off most the noise but guys were yelling down the halls and outside my window all night. Community bathrooms were new too me in a hotel setting. I would guess that staying on a night where a football game wasn't happening might help.

Hotel has everything you want, so why pay more? Easy to commute to where I was working in city centre. Other guests were a bit loud, but that's not the fault of Metro Inns.
