This hotel was good under Heritage name but the new company metro inn is distroying the good things in this hotel and maintains.
It has the worst hotel managment in the world. Every thing bad.
The situation was fantastic as the gig was only round the corner . My room was very good with a great little bathroom and the staff were polite and helpful . The breakfast was enjoyable . For the price this was a deluxe stay .
As I have spinal issues it is a little unfair to say I didn't like the bed but I had to write something .
Wedding till two oclock in morning,"music boom, boom ,could not Sleep at all .
How long have you got?
The staff were all friendly. The bed was clean and comfy.
Room windows vibrated from very loud disco on lower floor Doors banging all night. No restaurant for evening meal. In rough area for a lady travelling alone to go out. TV tiny and old with limited channels. No current PAT test on electrical's. in need of total revamp.
TV not working. Bathroom light only came on after 5 minutes from switching it on. No holder for toilet roll.
The price for 2 days was cheap but please see why! Staff I saw were pleasant and helpful enough. Good location in terms of my being close enough to attend my conference at the university
No pillows on the first night! Shower too small, had previous persons hair in there! Drain didn't clear quickly and seemed clogged with gray water! I had 5th floor room which was supposed to be the executive and therefore the best! I wouldn't like to have seen the lesser rooms! Breakfast provided was very basic A hotel more suited to the numerous workmen I saw there Car park too small... My car got grazed a bit! Thank god I could wipe it down when I got home! Decor of hotel very dated as well as the radiators and windows that were not doubled glazed! I haven't seen windows like that since I was a child over 40 years ago! Room was a non smoking one, however could smell other peoples smoking! At one point the reception desk had no one present for me to register my car details
Ideal location for my visit to Derby. Great value for money. Decent choice of fare for a continental breakfast.
Small things that didn't matter for my visit but if I was having a treat for my wife for the weekend it would have. Hole in towel. Hole in toilet door were the smallness of the space meant it closed on the toilet role holder. Cleanliness was okay but not really in depth.
We had 2 rooms for a family of 5, offered a twin on the smoking floor which smelt awful. Changed without issue to a double. Parts of the hotel were being painted and updated, which is definitely needed but what do you expect from £35 a night with a great free breakfast thrown in! Great continental breakfast which was always re stocked.
Noise of the music in the breakfast lounge, bit too loud and like a party. Kids enjoyed it.
toilet that wouldn't flush, rock hard bed no quilt no spare blankets , pillows that were flat and pubes on the bed, no hot water what else can I say we booked in at 4-45 and out at 5 drove to warrington and stayed there
from the moment I arrived till I left the hotel was nice and relaxing, staff very friendly and great selection at breakfast, would recommend the hotel to anyone on a budget visiting Derby, big thanks and Well done, keep up the good work.
just a bit of stale smoke as I asked for non smoking.
In addition to the comfort, value for money and quality of service the breakfast was excellent.
Cheap and cheerfull dated but clean frendly and helpfull staff good breakfast enjoyed stay would use again. Lewie
Good location easily walking distance away from town if it's a night out you want. Daytime reception staff lovely, decent bar with cheap prices, bed was clean and comfy enough, shower was hot
Could have had a light above mirror in room, night time porter was guarding forte Knox
served the purpose - good location
Close to University. Close to main shopping area.
Small shower. Small, antiquated television, the remote control for which did not work. Poor television reception. Lack of electrical sockets. Lack of toiletries Lack of glass/tumbler from which to drink water. Lack of toilet brush. No means of controlling radiator temperature. Window frames antiquated and need replacing, or at least painting!!! No phone in room. No restaurant facilities, other than continental breakfast, at which staff appear disinterested and untrained. There appear to be two lifts in the premises, only one of which is in operation. Small, awkward, car park.
terrible noisy hotel single glazed still awake gone 4 am. wall paper coming off the wall. toilet seat far from clean went to tell staff and her reply was I can assure you it has been cleaned so we ended up cleaning it our self before we could use it
The staff are brilliant. I can't fault them. Chatty. Polite. very helpful . And the best part is. They know what they are doing! It's the perfect location for derby Central at a very reasonable price.
It's getting a bit run down. It's clean don't get me wrong. But it could do with a makeover.
Most of it
Location and value for money, includes excellent continental breakfast.
Dirty & smelly. Very tatty
Close to city centre Cheap
Put on a smoking floor which wasnt clear on the booking. The smell hit you as soon as you came out of the lift, and stayed with me all night and the next day. I didnt have time to ask for another room as I was in a rush. Fortunately I was only staying for the night. I didnt expect the ritz for the price, but it should be made clear when booking!
Window did not close so was cold all night , smelt of sick outside room, room was dirty, kettle was dirty.
the snooker table was a hit with the teens, the proximity to the shops and takeaways was great.A great couple of nights stay for a trip to Alton Towers would definately stay again.
parked on the street as website says no parking at the hotel only to find that they have a car park. Also can be a bit noisy at pub turnout time, could do with windows looking at.
