Comfortable bed Good breakfast Lots of parking
Gym and sauna and pool were all very good
Nothing really. I would book again in the future.
I enjoyed the room and the swimming pool.
The hotel is fairly nice and good location if driving. Pool facilities are good. Easy drive to alton towers.
The room itself was a bit old fashioned.
We stayed here during our long weekend as it was close to Alton Towers. Would definitely stay here again, staff were friendly, food was amazing and the room was perfect for what we needed.
The only bad point is that the service was quite slow in the restaurant, however the quality of the food made up for it. Great value for money
good room facility
communication once when going into for breakfast. was asked to either wait for approval as I was wrongly marked down as not paid for breakfast. The desk staff on check out with no further checking, charge me extra for the breakfast. I have already paid and it put me off going back to the hotel again.
I liked the friendliness of the restaurant staff at breakfast. I liked the bedroom good layout and not a stuffy.
There didn't seem to be many places to walk my dog, the hotel receptionist seemed a bit vague. Quite important when you travel with dogs. So that was a minus point & somebody took our towels whilst we were in the swimming pool. Not impressed by that.
Easy access from the hotel to the city centre. Lots of parking
Great hotel comfy bed lovely clean room let you check out late. Nice pool loved it.
Quite a lot of road noise
Comfortable hotel, value for money, good honest food of high quality. Well positioned for road links. Roomy car park. Quiet location.
Cooked breakfast items could have been hotter.
Relaxed atmosphere and surroundings. Always a good choice for breakfast with staff on hand to help with additional needs should these be required. Excellent leisure facilities.
Not a lot!
Very pleasant and helpful staff, attentive without being overbearing. Great value for money.
Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant staff certainly went the extra mile to help us celebrate a birthday.
The aroma of the swimming pool pervades the entire central lounge area. I expect more from a four star hotel than one restaurant and a bar. The traffic noise from the bye pass was very noticeable.
Loved the size of the bedrooms. The hotel was spotless and the photos on the website don't do it justice. Breakfast was excellent and the staff were fantastic. A perfect one night stay.
Location of hotel good for peak district, alton towers etc. breakfast good cleanliness of hotel good
Price for what you get poor. Dinners too expensive, noise from road noise from ajoining rooms wifi useless staff all excellent but overworked. Chambermaids asked to clean windows outside which is crazy. Wouldnt stay here again as there are better hotels and cheaper ones in the area. Its way too expensive for what you get. I travel alot and stay in alot of hotels and i wouldnt recommend this one to anyone but take your chance if you want.
Room was comfortable enough. Bar and restaurant staff were good, receptionists pleasant enough. Easy enough to get to but traffic into and out of Derby make it a long trek.
Asked for a quiet room via booking online and when I checked in. Was given a room overlooking a roundabout! Thankfully it was quiet for a few hours during the night. Breakfast is a rip off at £14.95 and not much better choice wise than Premier Inns. Newspaper delivered that I didn't order I took back to reception but was still charged for it!
The staff were very friendly and helpful but not intrusive. Our room was very comfortable and - unlike many hotels - so was the bed. The food was excellent - we had an evening meal and breakfasts. The hotel is well maintained and very clean - I would definitely recommend it.
the room was lovely
the bed was not comfortable you could feel the springs
24 hours receptionist service, pool and spa was great, room service was efficient.
Wiifi service needed to be improved, it was too slow and I had to reconnect every time I am I access the internet.
The room was very spacious, staff very helpful and great amenities . We enjoyed several meals in the restaurant. Within walking distant to Mickleover Village and public transport.
Perhaps the outside could be updated a little with re painting.
The Menzies Mickleover is conveniently placed right by the A38 just south of Derby. The spa and swimming pool also drew us to this spot and although we didn't know it we had been allocated a suite which was a bonus.
There was some road noise. The double glazing did cut that out, therefore the balcony was redundant as you would be mad to actually sit out on it ! Signage and room numbering was confusing. It was the first time ever that we couldn't actually locate our room without help. Management would be advised to check signs. There was no monitoring of the pool, so it became crowded and youngsters, despite parents being present, ignored the no diving signs. Management needs to regulate admittance at busy times.
Beautiful interior and exterior.
Excellent staff and facilities. Excellent services for your money
Poor wifi signal from the room
