Getting our 20 pound key deposit back.
Paying 20 pound deposit for keys and being made to feel unwelcome as we were no regulars.guest information book 4 years out of date none of it was any use.allover a poor show.it was out dated allround.very poor quality.
Location is quite good,Not too far away from skegness town and attractions, and can walk there quite easily,or catch a bus, without needing to take car, therefore avoiding parking and having to pay. There is room for private off road parking, which is good, avoiding having to find parking spaces, and walking far with luggage.Garden is nice, with tables to sit outside if weather nice.Breakfast was nicely cooked and tasty.Bed was comfortable, shower room was big and roomy, although shower itself was a bit small.
Room itself was quite small, and was quite dated. There was mould around some parts of the outside of shower, and around some parts of inside window frame. There was quite a few rules and regulations, the time allowed for breakfast could do with being longer, as it is only 8.30 -9 am. When it was time to leave, pat who was 1 of the owners, went to check the room first, before giving me my £20 deposit back, and made the excuse that she was going to check if I had left anything in the room. But the main thing I really did not like was the owners pat and Adrian where really quite miserable, and not very helpful at all! Especially the first evening we arrived. They gradually became a bit more talkative and friendly the next 2 days, but still nowhere near as nice and friendly as other guest houses I have stayed in. I really dont understand why there are quite a few people on here saying how friendly they where? As i really didnt find this myself! The first night we arrived,me and my 12yr old son had been at cadwell park races all day,and the weather had been really bad,and we had got really wet and cold, and all our clothes where wet. When we went in the room it was really cold, there was radiators on the wall in room and shower room, but where not on. My son got in the bed,but was still shivering from the cold, and I could not dry our wet clothes either,so just hung them up on the back of door.I asked adrian if I could have the radiator on,and he said to me "Your not cold are you?" When I then explained to him about us getting soaked that day,and my son,he just said "They have to all be put on together, and Im not putting them on" Even though it was a very windy wet cold night, and ours has where adjustable on the side,or could be turned off if wanted to,so I e pull imagine the others where probably the same.So if other guests didn't want them on (although with how fold it was I can't imagine why?) They could turn the ones in their room off if wanted.
We only stayed at the Mickleton for a couple of nights, but would love to return for longer. We really enjoyed the company of our hosts, Pat and Adrian, well done you 2 for making our stay such an enjoyable one. Our room was very comfortable and the bed even more so, thus having a good nights sleep. Everywhere was lovely & clean and very good facilities throughout. The Mickleton is in a very quiet part of Skegness, so it's ideal to get away from the hustle & bustle, but also close enough to very quickly be back in middle of everything. Many thanks, from June & Alan - Sheffield.
Too many rules of what you can't do. Most of theBreakfast was cold. Changed us twenty pound for the keys and at the end of our stay we had to wait while our room was checked over before giving us the twenty pound back. Check in was two but had to wait till after three.it was the worst b and b we have ever stayed in and we have stayed a lot in the passed twenty four years. Thank you
