The staff at this hotel are among the most friendly and courteous that we have encountered anywhere. All staff were totally professional and helpful even when we asked for a room change shortly after our arrival at the hote. We were met with warmth and good old fashioned hospitality throughout our stay. The breakfast was very good also...something for everybody, lots of fresh fruit, yogurt, fruit juice and freshly cooked brakfast even though our stay at the hotel occurred over the New Year weekend. While clean, rooms at this hotel are quite small and somewhat dated. We requested a change from room 118 - not big enough to 'swing a cat' - definitely not suitable for a couple but would be ideal for a solo traveller. Breakfast was a little disorganised on our first morning...breakfast bowls and juice glasses were not available until mid way through breakfast. Tea/coffee and toast arrived early so that both were cold before cooked breakfast was served...slightly frustrating. That said, we only encountered these problems on our first morning. Bedrooms were unhealthily warm, may be due to the compact size of the bedrooms which were unbearably warm even with the window left open all day and night.

Reception area and bar. Cleanliness of room and orange and blue old decor. Food not great in hotel restaurant, over priced.

I liked the old-fashioned style of the hotel and the amount of space in our room,in the corridors and on the stairs. All the staff were very polite and helpful. I would like to see the cost of our room being reduced in the near future as we are now regular customers.

A majestic building from a past era, kept in imaculate condition. Convenient city centre location and friendly and helpful staff Very slow service at dinner time, despite restaurant being more than half empty, and a waiter who only spoke very basic english!

Staff were very friendly and spontaneously helpful! I also appreciate the fine restoration of the hotel with stunning paintwork and ceilings to preserve Bradford's heritage. Having a coal fire in the bar was a very nice touch and suitably nostalgic for the age of the hotel. Generous breakfast too. Highly recommended!

The warm friendly atmosphere, created by the staff. The difficult access from the car park, nice slope to wheel luggage up at first, but then steps and very heavy doors make it difficult.

The staff were very attentive, polite and helpful. The room was spacious with an excellent en suite bathroom. The breakfasts were very good; we loved the kippers! It was also very convenient for the city and the University. The free shuttle bus was a great help.

Overall decor was impressive. Only slight problem was work men digging up the pavement by the bank - noisy into the night.

The location was central, easy to find once leaving the motorway and well signposted once in city centre. The location next door to the station and 3mins from the shopping and banks. The fact it is a converted railway station with kept period features and modern additions without losing the character. The room was very large and spacious like being at home, beds were so comfortable. The bathroom was an excellent size with no faults. The only thing was the breakfast a full english to me includes baked beans and toast, the sausage was very pale giving appearance of being under cooked.
