Lovely stay, loved the hotel, the service and the restaurant staff were really friendly.

There was nothing we did not like.

Easy to find and plenty parking spaces. Room pretty spacious. Even though it was directly facing the train station our room was very quite. 5 to 10 mins walk to shopping centre.

Right opposite train station. Good breakfast. Wifi worked well. Helpful friendly staff.

Decor in rooms which was obviously once very grand, is now starting to look a bit 'tired' in places. Front of hotel rooms suffer from significant traffic noise.

Rooms are always clean, Staff are always friendly and helpful. Really nice hotel to relax in for a short getaway or an overnighter. Near to town centre for other restaurants, bars and also the shops. Perfect for travelling to by train as the station is literally on the doorstep but does not make it a 'noisy' hotel.

The room and service were amazing. We just stayed over night to catch early train to london and was in a perfect location for this.

Didn't have our booking through the internet but luckily we had a print out so they rectified the error straight away and we were upgraded.

I was realy impressed on how welcoming the receptionist's were.realy friendly :) we booked this hotel for convenience as it was located near to derby train station,and it couldnt of been more convenient,as it was practically on the doorstep of the train station :) i thought by paying only £52 it might not be as nice as its advertised, but it was fabulous. I was realy impressed overall xx

Location, decor, ambience,

Mix up with payment, wanted to pay bill by cash, on check in, but was told by receptionist that if I did I would have to pay £50 refundable deposit on my card, which I did, on checking my bank balance on the day of departure I found that a full payment of £112 had been debited, or "frozen" out of my account, when I explained how concerned I was about this, and as to why this had happened, I got no apology from her....as a fairly regular visitor, I am unsure if I want to return, unfortunately

Our room was excellent, very clean and comfortable and spacious. The bathroom was also excellent and we really enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful and friendly. Myself and my partner will most certainly stay again.

The Lift

All the staff were friendly and really helpful. The room was clean with a desk, tv, comfy chairs, plenty of hanging space, etc. Bedding and bathroom were sharply clean - real feelgood factor for me! It was comfortably warm on a cold night and no noise problems. Windows could be opened too. Very filling breakfast - value for money. You don't expect a hotel right next to a railway station to be as good as this. A real find. I noticed while there that they do a wedding reception package, which sounded a seriously good deal (well by south of England standards anyway). Worth finding out more if you are getting married locally with relatives coming from all parts of the country and needing accommodation too.

For me there was nothing to dislike. If in the area I would go for this hotel again.

Everything to hand. Rooms spacious and comfortable

Room too hot but radiator controllable. Small tables in overflow room at breakfast were coffee table size and not suitable for eating from.

The room size, cleanliness, very comfortable beds.

Pillows were small and not supportive, no individual lights control (for example bedside lamp), no proper drainage for bathrooms as the floors were easily wet from the shower and no rubber mat in the tub for showering as it was slippery.

Rooms were lovely. Had meal in hotel too which was amazing

The pole that the shower curtain was on could do with being replaced. Old and bent.

no clear, light signage from the main road drove past 3-4 times before realising that this was the building. Only had small unlight sign at car park entrance

Excellent hotel,great location for train travellers and only a 10 minute walk to city centre. Room was very nicely decorated,comfy bed and very clean and modern. Staff were really friendly and always helpful

Having to pay extra money to have breakfast in room because at the weekend the breakfast is not served before 8 O'clock. Makes the breakfast a bit expensive
