The first designer boutique hotel in the area, the hotel is a tasteful conversion of the old police station, which is supremely comfortable and elegantly sculpted into a bold, contemporary design.

Bed comfy and room warm
Waiting alongtime for coffee in the morning at breakfast half way through my breakfast when it arrived and then tasted awful. Nicer coffee and faster service is what is required
The rooms were very spacious and very clean.
The bar price were extortionate.
The dining room is far too gloomy particularly at breakfast time, even taking account of the time of year. Let there be light!! The path from car park is getting dangerous, particularly at night as it is not well lit and the surface rough.
Bed was very comfortable TV could have been a bit lower as I have kneck and back problems.
Bathroom Sink This didn't drain away after use ..... not quick enough. Shower cubical had mould in between the tiles. Toilet paper could be comfortable, I'd expect good quality for the rate per night £73 Couldn't open the window for fresh air because of taxis running there engines, but that can't be helped can it?
The welcome, room, party atmosphere, meal, and, conversation.
Some of the music was too vintage and the Disc Jockey looked about 69 years old and had none of my group of friends requests. He actually stated that he'd never heard of the majority of them nor had them!
Staff very friendly and helpful
There were four parties downstairs which made four a good atmosphere, until we went to bed and could hear everything through the floor. We were given a free breakfast but endured loud noise well after midnight. You could hear every song, I mean I like the Jackson 5 but not at 12am when your seven year old can't sleep.
Staff extremely friendly and polite, rooms well serviced breakfast really good
The fact we stayed over the Xmas period very busy, difficult finding a parking spot Lots of very noisy party's going on
The staff were great, always smiling, and never passed you by without saying hello and asking if you needed anything. Good location, nice big rooms, free Wi-fi and Real Fried Bread for Breakfast !!!
Cos the rooms are quite big, the TV was small, or seemed it to my eyes as it was away in the corner of the room. Big wardrobe, one Dressing table, one writing desk, but nowhere to put your clothes, (Chest of drawers). I was there for 3 nights and would've like to unpack my bag.
The location was great, easy access to station, shopping etc. The room was comfortable, clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately it was Christmas Party week and the sevice to hotel guest fell. It took me 20 mins to get servered at the bar on the first night and I did not even attempt the second night as the bar was about 10 deep. I felt they had the staff there but really was not sure what they were doing.
Value for money better than I expected and location
Dip in my side of the bed but not a major issue room 276
Large Clean Room Comfy bed. Night reception - Keiron was brilliant - we came back to the hotel after 1am and he was so friendly and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Parking facility excellent and free! Big hotel but no noise disturbance in the room - nice and quiet.
Bad drainage smell in entrance through to bar & restaurant. Very unpleasant. Reception check in and breakfast waitress not at all welcoming or friendly - felt like an inconvenience.
The parking facilities, the hotel layout and the festive decorations. The twin room (112) was very spacious and the beds were really comfortable. We had a very pleasant stay and would not hesitate to book again!
Wished there had been some kind of spa facilities, like they have in other Hallmark Hotels around the country.
Although a quite and tidy room was requeste, the guest was provided with a room which smelt of cigarette smoke. Only one power socket worked, no iron, an uncomfortable bed and a very low pressure shower. The Breakfast was pretty poor in terms of choice.
Very plesent staff, room nice, clean and comfortable.
The cost of the drinks in the bar.
Friendly staff, comfy bed, pleasant room, good location, unspoilt architecture.
Room faced into back yard, so poor outlook and some noise at night from services. TV functions a bit outdated.
Hotel very close to the station, so good access Good breakfast, including very good coffee - so essential ! Helpful staff
Decor a little tired/dated Have to go some way to find some nice restaurants
Excellent location Wonderful Christmas decoration Reception staff very helpful Great room
The staff at the bar needs a lot of training
Everything, great location, lovely spacious room, fantastic breakfast. Very clean and excellent staff.
I liked the spacious room and bath room!
Bed was toooo hard
Hotel looked lovely and festive was very quiet even though right next to train station and taxi rank and breakfast was nice.
I paid £78 for a overnight stay in a double room even though the hotel was nice and clean i did think it was over priced.
Room very good
Breakfast sausage and bacon was not good quality £171 for room, dinner and one glass of wine was very expensive.
- Very friendly staff -- particularly at reception and the bar; - Reasonably comfy, adequate for a one-night business trip; - Cosy.
- More expensive than the Jury's Inn, which surprised me; - A bit run-down; - Bed could have been comfier.
Tastefully refurbished room Warm Helpful staff Good function rooms Very reasonable prices Just across the road from railway station
The restaurant couldn't seem to get the idea of "no onion". The flip side of the convenient location opposite the station was that you could hear platform announcements from 5am.
The fact that I could take my dog with me. It was convenient to walk into the town centre.
There was no bin in the garden area to put any dog poo bags in. There was no available parking when we arrived. We could eventually park on the car-park at 10pm. The receptionist simply said we have a convention on and we could park in the sister hotel over the road.
Lovely hotel, decorated beautifully, lovely feel, comfortable room
Ensuite not same feel or quality to bedroom decor. Busy breakfast, some customers had to eat off low tables in the bar area.
