The Mildmay Retreat

Situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty, in the centre of the village of Holbeton, this new barn conversion, set on the old brewery site, is ideally situated for anyone who enjoys outdoor activities.

Separate from the Mildmay Colours, a 200-year-old oak-beamed traditional country inn, where breakfast is served, the retreat is just a 4-minute drive from Mothecombe Beach on South Devon’s spectacular coastline, and near the Dartmoor National Park.

The Retreat comprises of 6 en suite rooms, including family accommodation which is on 3 levels and sleeps 5-6 people. All rooms have been refurbished and all have independent ground floor access.

The Inn prides itself on its friendly atmosphere and service. It is listed in the real ale guide and features 4 real ales, including The Mildmay Colours bitter. It serves good traditional homemade food.

Each of the newly refurbished rooms features a flat-screen television. Set across the car park from the Inn, the retreat provides a peaceful night's sleep, whether you're on business or on holiday.

Area information

The retreat is close to the Erme Estuary and within 20-minutes of the historical port of Plymouth and a number of sporting activities, such as golf, sailing, fishing and hill walking.

Travel information

By Car:
- Take the A38 Devon Expressway.
- Turn off for the A3121 towards Ugborough and Ermington.
- Join the the A379 towards Yealmpton.
- The Mildmay Colours Inn and Holbeton are signposted from this road, which will take you in the direction of Mothecombe and the coast.
- On seeing the church spire down in the valley, you will shortly see the turn off down into Holbeton village, where the pub is again signposted.
- The entrance to the pub car park can be found just below the church.
