Williamstown, Vic.
Romantically set in 60 acres of woodland and orchards, The Old Swan and Minster Mill is over 600 years old. With 5-star, elegant rooms and a croquet lawn, there is also a traditional restaurant. The relaxed atmosphere amongst peaceful surroundings. The gardens were superb. The staff were excellent. The bedrooms were very comfortable. The food was good without being over the top.But I would have liked to have more choice. There was only one room with a walk-in shower. Fortunately we were lucky enough to get it.

Fantastic location and beautiful grounds. Room (we stayed in a Luxe) was lovely. Food - dinner and breakfast! Not that we wanted to spend our time in the Cotwolds watching TV, but if we did the channel list was pretty limited (about 6 channels) - maybe upgrade to freeview in all rooms? Couple sat next to us at breakfast brought their dog in with them. I like dogs, but I don't like them around when I'm eating.

Staff very polite. Didn't take the dog but loved how it was very welcoming for them. Also loved the shower facilities in room 141. Have recommended highly to at least three people since and would have loved to have stayed longer!! Long corridor! (Legs not so good!)

The service was great. Friendly staff and very attentive if you had a problem. Nice cosy hotel, the little river was lovely. Breakfast was very nice and the fire place cosy. The bed was great. The property was beautiful to walk around and the old church down the road was so pretty. The room was tiny and overpriced. Staying in the country you dont expect to pay more than London prices and get a smaller room. We could also hear the up stairs room. The ceiling were so low you could not stand under the shower. There was no outdoor area with our room and since it rained the whole weekend they really need a pool, spa and sauna area. We realised after it was 5 star in-house, we thought it was a 5 star hence it would have a pool etc. We would not have stayed there if we realised this. It should not be advertised as 5 star on your booking site. The coffee at breakfast was terrible, we love our espresso and what came out tasted like filtered coffee!! I did see they have a coffee machine but not sure if the staff have done a barista course. Our friends said the same thing, they had a cappuccino that looked like it had barley any coffee in it. They need to change there coffee. The tea was nice. We left our key at reception and got back rather later after a wedding(1am) and waited 10 min for someone to show up to give us the key. We started to get worried we would not be able to get back into our room. The man was apologetic though.

The food was superb but a little overpriced (£9.50 for a sandwich) That there appears to be no dress code, Dining in a 5* establishment should mean that you do not turn up for dinner in a pair of jeans and a sweat shirt We would have liked linen napkins at dinner instead of paper napkins

Beautiful setting 700 year old building fantastic next to the river beautiful gardens and a lovely sitting area outside lots of activities to do around the hotel made for a pleasent stay. Staff seemed to lack experience Room wasn't cleaned as I would have expected and the restaurant staff left us to our own devises with carrying bottles and glasses to the table not the best service when classed as 5 star.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Beautiful setting and the gardens are stunning. The fire pit on our terrace was a good touch and the marsh mallows and port were very welcome. I would recommend this hotel. No room service.

It's location and old-fashioned charm The accommodation. Room was a little cramped. Window didn't lock-important for security on a ground floor room. Impossible to stand in shower due to low ceilings. Only 3 coathangers in wardrobe. Buffet breakfast served from cramped bar area in 'Old Swan'

The location is amazing! Rather a shame that the bar closes so early ! Would like to have had a quiet glass of wine after diner without the lights being turned off and the doors locked!!!!!!!!

Amazing setting in the Cotswolds - fantastic for families / young couples with all the sports facilities. The pub is more like a travel lodge, the evening meal was very poor with an expensive and limited wine list. We arrived from London at 3.30 to be told that food was finished until 6.30 - with nothing local it seems strange that such an amazing hotel would rely on a second rate pub over the road to manage food and beverages for its guests. Breakfast was just the same, I amazed that this isn't could fresh and that they would prefer to serve cold scrambled eggs from a serving tray. Overal it was a mixed experience, I would recommend bringing refreshments or making alternative arrangements to the pub.

Location, food, atmosphere, staff, coffee and tea in room, free wifi good and worked on whole site. Bathroom ceiling was too low, could not stand upright in shower. Lovely countryside around the location but nothing else eg shops, restaurants etc nearbye, so a car would be essential.

It's a beautiful complex. Comfortable accomodation in a lovely location. Meals were always excellent, and served up in very comfortable surroundings and an informal atmosphere. The staff were very attentive, without being cloying. There were activities available which were of no interest to myself, but which would have appeal to many others. As a habitual moaner, I find myself unable to think of anything that I didn't like. Infuriating.
