The location is fantastic easy to walk everywhere. Tony the owner is very friendly but some people may find him OTT. Breakfast was good.
Some of the furniture and furnishings are a little dated and if you struggle with the stairs I would recommend asking for the ground floor room
Tony the owner definatly a character breakfast was good and good location.
Not much we had a room at the front so it was very noisy from street noise but that's not anyone's fault .
Very friendly host, fantastic food, fantastic value - highly recommended
A minor quibble but the shower could have been more powerful
The room was very clean and the bed was so comfortable and the Wi-Fi was better than I had hoped it would be. An enjoyable stay.
This Guest house had fabulous reviews and lived up to all of its hype--and then some! Tony is a gentleman and runs a top notch place. He made sure every detail was accounted for and caters your stay to your needs. The room was so comfortable, and I can't wait to return next time I'm in Brighton--thank you Tony!
there was nothing not to like.
Beautiful room, warm, comfortable and tastefully decorated. Tony was so warm hearted and welcoming, making sure everything was perfect. Breakfast was the best, perfectly done eggs!!!!!! Will definitely come back. Loved it.
Excellent room. Tony, the owner, gave us a free upgrade to room 4 which has twin beds, and a large bathroom with bath and separate shower. All of the hotel was clean and well maintained, and the breakfast was perfect.
The only minor negative point was the shower was small and there was no soap dish in the shower, so dropping the soap was not a good idea.
Great location, very clean, nice decor, very spacious room (room 4). Tony was very helpful and welcoming, he obviously strives to make his guests stay as memorable as possible. Happy to return.
if we had to find any negatives, the one mattress on the doubled up bed was a bit lumpy, the timer on the bathroom light sensor could do with being a bit longer... but these points didn't detract from what was a lovely stay at a great B&B
Proximity to town. Cleanliness of room. Help in taking cases to room. Tea/coffee making facilities
So many stairs to climb to the room. Having to wait to be seated for breakfast. Table being wiped whilst still eating, No milk for morning drink 2nd morning. Being told that the cost of a drink from the fridge in room was £1 even though price marked at 29p
Welcoming staff and very good cooked breakfast. Facilities as described
Breakfast time a little late and had to miss it on the first day because of work committments. Bathroom was small and the sink was outside the bathroom and a bit small.
Very central, and comfortable. Tony was a fun host, and did an excellent job of communicating before the stay.
location staff cleanliness breakfast
room was a bit small - but we only slept there -so not a big problem! Nothing else was a problem at all
Right from meeting Tony the very friendly owner to the breakfast the next morning everything was great. Tony meet us at the front door as I was ringing the bell, and gave us a most friendly welcome, such a great chap. He booked us in and then escorted us to our room, of which was basic but clean and had everything we needed for our overnight stay. Breakfast was meet by the owner Tony who showed us to our table and then took our order. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty, and Tony was very helpful with not only delivering us his very tasty breakfast but also local infomation regarding local tourist sights. All in all a great place to stay. WIFI included as standard so that was a bonus for us as we used to paying extra for this service.
Mattress on the bed was a little to soft for our liking but then we are used to a memory foam, but for an overnight stay it was ok. Ohh and the wind and rain for our stay was not to great but added to the fun of fish and chips on the pier.
The owner was very helpful, friendly and attentive. location could'nt be better and facilities are good.
No major bad points.
Owner Tony is a very friendly guy who is clearly passionate about his guest house, and it shows. It's well-organised, tidy, comfortable, very clean, and has a great location near the beach, all manner of shops and restaurants, as well as the Old Steine bus stops. Tony also cooks a great English breakfast!
Nothing, really. Just don't expect the anonymity of a large corporate hotel chain (personally, I greatly enjoy it when staff knows me by name and asks me about my day etc., but some might not).
The owner made us feel like we were the only guests there. Excellent customer service. Breakfasts cooked to order. Bed was great, slept very well. No noise. Walking distance to the centre and seafront.
Shower was a bit awkward to get in and out of. Would recommend a folding door.
Friendly Host, lovely fresh breakfast, warm and clean
Lovely host. Lovely room. Lovely breakfast.
The location is perfect. The room facilities are good.
The host is way too anal. He literally cleaned something that fell under our table during breakfast. He also asks to take suitcases up the steps one at a time so they won't leave marks on the walls. The room we got was very small and there wasn't even a sink in the shower, it was next to the bed. Breakfast is waitered to the table so you can choose either full English OR continental, you can't mix. (i.e. cereal and eggs is not possible)
When we first arrived at Millards, we weren't sure what to make of Tony the owner, as he has a very direct manner, which I can understand from previous reviews that people have found rude and overbearing, however the reality is he is incredibly hard working and passionate about his business and just wants to run a clean, organised and comfortable B & B and in our opinion he succeeds.
Millards guest house was very clean, our room was lovely with comfortable beds and plenty of hot water. The free wi Fi was a bonus.Breakfast was very good with choice ingredients. The host made us feel very welcome....
lovely room and house very welcoming host good breakfast (english or variation of it) very good location and even parking possible (not always a lot available) for addtl. fee
Tony and the staff were kind. Breakfast was very tasty. Everything was very organised. We had lovely and comfortable stay! :)
The hotel is located in busy area, so outside was a bit noisy at night.
Tony very welcoming and informative before and during stay. Spotless room. Fan in room before we arrived, we needed it as room was hot due to wonderful weather and being at top of Hotel. Great breakfast. Great position for the venue of wedding we attended. Good stay and all the reviews we read before we went were accurate about the warm welcome etc. Good stay
the location....in a quiet street between the promenade and the town centre
the owner,Tony.....the "Basil Fawlty" of Brighton......runs his place like a B&B bootcamp,,,,,,I quote him at departure......"My House,my rules".......initially very pleasant but if you don't do things his way,he shows another side....Asked if we could have breakfast only 5-10 mins earlier than the 9am start (we had a ferry to catch at 11am) and we never heard the last of it,,,,put a bag down in the small reception area and was told to move it as it made the place look untidy, yet the desk and walls were groaning with "thank you" cards !! He made snide comments through our breakfast,,,, how slow we were eating and chatting ....wiping up while we were eating....when asked for a 2nd coffee, told that the fresh coffee was being "saved " for other guests but he had instant coffee !! Asked for the room key,and when we said we just needed to go clean our teeth before leaving,he said he thought we were in a rush to leave !! A rude and unpleasant experience.
