SInead who worked in bar and Chris the night porter were both efficient, friendly and respectful to all their customers . nothing was too much trouble for them. My husband and me enjoyed craic with them the two evenings we stayed which made our stay that more memorable . Food superb .Reception ,bar, Resturant staff all friendly and efficient .Will definitely return ,hopefully around Christmas .
Bathroom small could do with a make over .
Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was elegant and I even had a balcony and a view of park-like grounds. The location was excellent for my purpose of exploring ancestor homelands in various directions around County Down.
Due to it being off season the hotel was fairly empty which was a bit disconcerting. It is and deserves to be a desirable location for overnight guests, dinner guests or a wedding venue. My usual complaint would be that all hotels I visited this trip had different and sometimes difficult showers which could do with a brief set of instructions.
Very comfortable high standard Hotel with very good rooms , homely atmosphere , with great entertainment , good food and friendly, helpful and efficient staff.
The whole experience
Fantastic, spacious room and very comfortable bed. Superb views as we were located at the front of the hotel. Bathroom lovely - very large bath. Good breakfast.
Menu in restaurant could have been a bit better - very basic. However, the food we had was nice.
Staff were friendly
Breakfast staff were a bit grumpy.
friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast
bed not particularly comfortable
Cleanliness and food.
Poor wifi and some tired furniture.
Lovely clean spacious room. Very friendly atmosphere and accommodating staff. Breakfast was superb.
Staff and food excellent
Noise outside bedroom window after/ during wedding. It was very loud until after. 3 am . If I was a wedding guest I presume I'd be the same!! Not much can be done about these things I presume.
Staff friendly and helpful room large comfortable food good easy parking
Initial room offered was small dark uninviting we had to upgrade at some expense though a deal was offered after upgrade everything was fine though our budget suffered a little
The evening meal
Bed - very uncomfortable Noise - Bedroom next to a corridor with a swing door, would bang each time someone opened and closed. Flies - Windows were closed but when I arrived several flies in the room. Shower - Poor, lack of power.
The staff were very friendly and helpful , on the first night an young lad called Daniel did everything you could ask , serving our drinks , taking our food order and asking several times if we wanted anything else , the receptionists were very nice indeed and extremely helpful any question asked was answered ,extremely professional ,
The room was full of flies, and the ensuite toilet seat was broken as was the bath panel ,the grout around the bath was discoloured, the carpet in the room was stained, when we went down to breakfast we had to wait as no one was in the dining room this happened on more than one occasion , when we were seated we ordered the breakfast the tea and toast did not come out until after the breakfast and the toast was freezing cold i asked for more tea as there was just enough in the tea pot for one cup , the tea was refilled the same tea bags im sure just with some more hot water , very very weak ,the second and third day there was only one waitress on duty for breakfast and she did her best but the bacon was paper thin and dry and there were no beans or mushrooms on the breakfast on those days so the whole thing was extremely dry , there were a lot of files in the dining-room and i understand that the hotel in semi rural but the dead flies on the window sills every morning was not nice at all
Building, reception, grounds and restaurant were beautifully decorated and maintained. Watching the horses in the field was a lovely setting.
Bedroom/bathroom was very dated and could have been cleaner. The sink was cracked, the carpet, curtains and valance sheet were all stained and the lampshades were all dusty. Also the fire alarm continuously went off in random bursts between 8.45 and 10am which I don't think is fair as check out isn't until 11am. We purposely left early as the noise was deafening and you couldn't relax.
Nice staff and beautiful location. Room was very nice, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent.
Probably not lodges fault but when I booked hotels for belfast it said it was only one mile from town-but it was their town not belfast and was about 25km out of Belfast. There was wedding reception there that night and the noise was horrendous with people yelling, honking their horns etc right under our window to 2:30am!
Hotel location beautiful grounds. Staff were pleasent and the hotal rooms were clean.
Decorate in areas a little dated or tired looking although the main reception looks quite quint.
Helpful staff on arriving late in evening. Facilities in public areas.
Dubious quality of food - we were both ill. Lack of choice for breakfast combined with inefficient staff. Handbasin plumbing in room 4.
Menu evening meal very outdated
Main Light in room not working asked twice for Bulb to be changed, never was.?
excellent room will deffinetly be returning to stay again
Driving Away from this Hotel when Leaving,
There are Far to many things To be said about this Hotel and its Unfrendly Staff really to put into words such as, The Dismal Look of the Place both inside and out The Badly Stained Carpets, the Flakeing Paintwork Plaster and Woodwork on the Door surounds and skirtingboards The Lose toilet system in Room 10 the little to None choice of Cerial or fresh Fruit at Breakfast pluss the Fryed Breakfast delived with evrythink on the Plate Swimming in Grece or Oil Pluss to be Honest there is very little at this 3 or 4 Star Hotel depending on what site you see it on that is really better than a 2 star Hotel except the Overpriceing of evrythink from rooms to food and drink Need we say More ?
