This hotel had good big rooms and bath room and nice and helpful staff and very central for shopping
The studio suite room we upgraded to had poor view out the window
Unfortunately work was taking place across from the hotel which was quite noisy.
Bar service was poor. Pillows were poor.
Huge big suite...a bit older style great size. Comp bottle of red wine .....found out why later !
Delayed be near 2 hours to get into our room because house keeping were busy.. Noisy 2 floors up as a wedding was on. No small lamp in lounge only big light. ...stayed lots of times b4 just a bit disappointed !
Hotel room was shabby and in dire need of refurbishment. Room was very basic, skirting boards and door was covered in paint chips. Ceiling was peeling, tiles in bathroom cracked and a cigarette burn in the bath. Very poor standard for over £120.00 per night. Buffet breakfast was a bit on the cold side. Definitely wouldn't stay here again.
We travelled by train from further North in Scotland and so the location could not have been more perfect. It is so handy for the theatres (we visited two different ones) and the heart of Glasgow, museums and other tourist sights. Excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Delightful as always.
If you go to breakfast when it is not busy the food can sometimes only just be warm enough - at busy times it's fine. I'd recommend warm plates please. George Square can be noisy on Fri and Sat nights but - it's a city centre, so really what else would we expect?
I wasn't provided a spoon with my soup and needed to track down a member of staff then again as the bread was stale. The staff sorted it straight away however so it didn't spoil my stay
Rooms to the back of the hotel look out over the workings of Queen Street station which is not particularly picturesque and there was the smell of fast food cooking in the room
Very helpful and pleasant staff throughout the hotel. Always willing to assist whatever.
The size of the room was really good, nice & spacious.
No overhead lighting in room. The evening meal was disappointing. The a la carte menu had been substituted for Xmas menu. The turkey was rather dry & the veg uninspiring.
Tired dirty shower room with peeling paint and dirty grouting
The location and price was very good
Large impressive traditional hotel. Well located for shops, nightlife and business.
Would prefer better car parking rates
Had a great meal in glass fronted room over-looking George Square
location is excellent staff were very helpfull and polite evening meal we had was good
service slow at bar and for food (this was due to christmas party bookings and NOT the staff) small room which seemed to be overpriced although I realise that the time of year is reflected in this. tea making facilities in room were a bit mean, (only 4 tea bags per day)
Furniture and rooms very dated, settee in room, needs replaced, stained and dirty looking
Dated, grubby and shabby. Very disappointing
easy access to travel and shops
nothing - I loved everything
Location is excellent. Within walking distance of everything in town centre.
No parking. (But you get a reduced rate at nearby car park)
Good location, everything in walking distance. Room was a good size.
No hotel car park made checking in and out difficult. Very noisy inhouse private functions going on during our visit. Club lounge small and too hot.
It was really in the center, which was very convenient
The wi-fi was really slow and having twin beds when traveling alone is not very comfortable
I loved the fact that you walked straight out of Queen st station , under cover and into the side door of the hotel ! Then when we got checked in we just walked out of the front door crossed the road and we were in the hub of the famous George square with the Xmas fun fare ! Magical !!
I thought it was expensive compared to other hotels I have paid a lot less for .....the room was aged, tatty and very small !!
Location was great and very good breakfast.
Our room was facing George Square and it was very noisy, being a Friday night. Double glazing would be a great improvement. The entire hotel was also extremely hot !
