It was really close to everything I wanted for my Cardiff trip. Shops is at your door step and arena I went to a concert for was just 5 minutes walk. Staff was really nice, called be a week in advance and checked if I would like to do a early check in. Also at my last day in Cardiff the hotel staff let me keep my suitcase until I went to pic it up early evening, much appreciated. Highly recommend this hotel :o)! 2 small things. When I arrived at the Hotel I had a heavy suitcase and there was no lift and steep many steps up, so not a hotel if you have problem walking in steps. And the shower was in a bit of a bad standard, had to hold the shower as the fitting for it was broke and the warm water lasted for 5minutes, then it went cold, so with conditioner in my hair I had to have a really cold shower, good wake up call though ;o).

I did not actually stay in ml Lodge because there was a problem with the room which I was told about when I arrived at Sandringham Hotel, so they gave me a room in the Sandringham instead. It was very comfortable and although quite old, I had all the facilities I needed.

Convenient , cheap, city location. Near to Cardiff Central and all facilities. Friendly staff. Steep stairs with no lift. Unfortunately although in a non smoking room could smell someone smoking in an adjoining room when in the bathroom. (Presume the fan vent connected to their room!) Not a major factor but not brilliant!

The breakfast was good and value for money. The staircase was killing, try to fix a lift if possible.

Friendly and helpful staff especially Ann-Marie on reception Room 7 - and presumably other rooms at front of hotel facing St Mary's St - had no double glazing and the noise from people shouting and singing in the street and at the taxi rank outside meant we were still awake at 3.40a.m. When we asked to be moved after one night Ann-Marie arranged for us to move immediately into a quieter room at the back - thank you!

Stayed here for the Wales v England 6 Nations game and it is a perfectly placed B&B. Close to all the pubs and 5 min stroll 2 the stadium. Perfect for overnight stay. Will be using again for similar trips. Allot of people have mentioned this and it is the stairs. I know on the hotel website it is stated that the stairs are steep and due to the building there is not alot the owners can do about it but our room was on the 4th floor. Not a major problem but I was a bit drunk and out of breath when I reached the top.

The location was amazing, right in the middle of everything. Best location for shopping, rugby and CIA. Fabulous for nightlife as well. The worn stair carpet, the noise from the fans. I was in room 1 and the noise from the heating/air conditioning? was very loud. Luckily, there was a good tv in the room and finally dropped off at 3 am.
