Overlooking Lake Windermere, Miller Howe Hotel and Restaurant has a conservatory, garden and terrace with panoramic views. The en suite rooms are luxuriously decorated and some have balconies. Miller Howe has 3 guest lounges as well as the conservatory. The restaurant offers local ingredients in dishes from around the world. Lunch and dinner are available throughout the week, as well as afternoon tea. Some of the rooms are in the Gardener’s Cottage, which in the grounds of the main house and has a private garden and its own kitchen. Miller Howe Hotel is a mile from Windermere Railway Station and the centre of town. The hotel is about 500 metres from lake itself and is only 15 minutes’ drive from Kendal and 25 minutes from the M6. The meals were fantastic, we were very impressed. The room we had was pricey but well worth the extra paid, spacious with stunning views across the lake. Bit quiet on our stay,although we did have the chef to ourelves!

The view from the patio was breath taking and the room we had was beautiful and in-keeping with the hotels' original decor. The food we had was presented beautifully and silver served and tasted wonderful. No free Wi-Fi

The location was out of this world the view we had from our balcony was amazing. The staff and management were extremely friendly and helpfull. We had breakfast in the hotel which was served up to a very high standard and well presented. We would struggle to find fault with this hotel, however it is difficult to make any improvements if feed back is not received. We enjoyed breakfast very much and would like to have eaten dinner there as well, however although we are sure the standard of this meal would be on par with breakfast we felt it was a bit expensive.

Everything! - the accomodation was most luxurious, we must have hit lucky somehow cos we got a suite with a living room better than at home- but I loved the presumably real arts and crafts furniture everywhere and the gorgeous garden, food and restaraunt excellent, staff very friendly but also unobtrusive a difficult act to pull off.

Stunning location with views of lake Windermere from the large balconies of both our rooms. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and the breakfast was of a very high standard, served in a beautiful dining room overlooking the gardens and lake.

loved that the superior room that we had booked was in actual fact the Miller Howe cottage which was set apart from the hotel and was very spacious. the grounds at the hotel were spectacular and the diningroom was a delight to have dinner and breakfast in. The staff were very accomodating and look after you well. we dined at the restaurant the very first night only to find out that that it was a set menu at £45 per head with wine being an extra £32 per bottle. The food was delicious but we couldnt help wonder that the price of the menu was keeping other non residents away as the diningroom was extremely quiet. Also there was no bar but you could enjoy before dinner drinks. If there was a bar they would perhaps retain residents as it was much cheaper to go into town and bring your own wine back!

Spectacular view across Lake Windermere, very good breakfast. Our room, Haweswater, was on the back of the hotel above the kitchens and next to the road - it was very noisy and also very hot requiring us to have the door to the terrace open all night. Disappointed considering the room cost £220 and we subsequently found out that the spectacular lake view rooms only cost £200. Very poor value for money.

Hotel absolutely first class. Views of Lake Windermere from our room outstanding. Watched the deer playing in the fields first thing in the morning. Food excellent.

The staff and food first class. Views good and hotel very easy to stay in. Would have liked a bigger room than the one we booked. Althought the room was first class and would stay again.
