The Comfort and Breakfast
Being crowed out at breakfast by incondsiderafe Wedding Party and a large ammount of noise of some guests in the early hours door slaming they could do with some signs to show other guests respect
Stayed one night on route to south of England for family wedding. Had a lovely room, breakfast was good also waitress service which was good and an excellent choice. Room very good and comfortable also evening meals were value for money in the pub. Would definitely stay again.
Nothing to dislike
staff very friendly lovely room
Road very noisy Disappointing dining room
Nice and friendly from when we checked in until we left, I would stay here again
Friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, good choice of food.
The fact that the chef failed to turn up for work in the morning, therefore, there was no cooked breakfast, very poor show. Also, the fact the young receptionist was left alone in the hotel and had to deal with a lot of unhappy guests, try and cook toast, serve tea and coffee and check people out, not really satisfactory
staff on duty were helpful
lack of staff & inexperience long wait for drinks & meals (dinner & breakfast) tables not cleared so very little choice of seats party in next room until 1am & no staff on duty to deal with noise . with only a few guests why were we all in the same area. NOT HAPPY
Almost everything exceptionally great for the price paid. Highly recommended.
Very good value for money, breakfast included
room location and the few staff on duty where trying there best
no paper no alarm call no one on reception had to wait 25mins for a cuppa let alone breakfast, lot of un happy people.but may try it again as we come to area most weeks for business
Very helpful staff.
Staff shortage at breakfast made for a long wait.
Poor restaurant service however there was also a wedding ongoing at the time.
As stated above
We have stayed at The Millers on several occasions as the location is perfect for our needs. The hotel is friendly, comfortable and fairly priced for the service and facilities on offer. Our experience this time did not match up to previous stays, however we will not write the hotel off based on one experience. The negative comments are made purely to be as constructive as possible.
Minor problems in the main- The fire bell went off at 22:50 hours waking us up. After a couple of minutes it was switched off. No member of staff gave any apology or explanation. I don't think that this is acceptable. If it had been an accidental activation of the alarm we should have been given the 'all-clear'. The Wi-Fi that is advertised doesn't work. Loading was painfully slow and when it finally did my tablet didn't like the insecure network and wouldn't let me proceed. No luck on our phones either. In this day and age this really needs addressing. Breakfast. 1st morning we were at breakfast for 9 a.m. Previously occupied tables weren't cleared. Our 'clean' table had ring marks on so had been set-up but not wiped down. The waitress poured my coffee by picking my cup up around the rim! Not hygienic. The food was not very hot, especially the baked beans which were beginning to congeal. Second day breakfast was even worse. The dining room was a bomb site with used tables. The breakfast bar was swimming with spilled juice. There were no glasses for the juice that was still in a jug. We waited over half an hour for our food as all the equipment had been turned off, even though breakfast is advertised until 12:00... We only saw one waitress this day. Was she the only waitress? Was she expected to cope on her own with a full hotel? We have stayed here several times before and not had this poor experience. The bedroom was too hot with no way of controlling the temperature other than opening the window. Then people would be smoking outside it as we were on the ground floor, even though there is a designated smoking area. Finally- the bar. On arrival we tried to order coffee but the till wasn't working so we almost didn't get it. Not a good start. Coffee duly arrived but was half a cup and tepid. That evening we ordered pints of a real ale. The beer was flat and lacked condition.
Well priced, staff excellent, worked well as a team. The youngest member of staff who was your barmen/waiter named John is a credit to the "Millers team" always smiled & went out of his way to please. Meals were well priced & were again excellent value for money. Good selection for breakfast
No negatives - Will Return
-Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful -Rooms were very comfortable -Atmosphere in the Hotel was friendly and welcoming.
-They had staff shortages which caused some minor delays -Breakfast planning should be reviewed
For the price everything Evening meal deals are great Staff super friendly
I have stayed here in the past on a number of occasions and it will be my choice in the future also.Staff ,food are excellent!
I live in hope of a solution to keeping a single duvet on a single bed throughout the night. Luckily the room was nice and warm.
Very good location for us I grew up in the area and it was very close to family so seeing them was easy.would recommend this hotel to anyone, very friendly staff.it must be very popular,it was busy all weekend.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed was comfy and room clean...
Room very warm.... Even with all windows open Breakfast was very slow and food and drinks not replenished as they should be. A very long breakfast rime...8am to 12pm which I think stretches out the staff and amenities too much... I think breakfast 8 till 10am is very fair and will allow staff to concentrate on customers and replenishing food etc.
Definately recommend. Was a lovely stay.
Paper thin walls! Room to small for twin beds. Waited 40 mins for cooked breakfast which was cold, egg was poached though it looked more hard boiled when it arrived and never got the toast! Even had cold coffee served twice! Tables were not cleared after guests had left and many had to clear spaces in order to sit at a table. Staff under pressure.
nicely presented country inn
traffic noise as room beside main rd
Good selection of beer. Good food and other good eating locations nearby (Cock Inn over the road)
Just as well I didn't take a cat single room is definately a single
