Staff were lovely and more than accommodating. After a long day at the office, it was nice to come back as it really felt like I was in the comfort of a good family gathering/home - eating dinner by the fireplace, talking with the staff and fellow guests in the lounge, etc. Food from the restaurant was beautifully cooked by the French chef. Highly recommended and I will stay at the Mill House when I return to the Reading area.
Staff were nice & hospitable Food was excellent Very clean Nice fluffy towels Continental breakfast was only £5.50 and not £11.50 as stated
Single bed - not particularly suited to my 6' 1" stature but, I booked for a single as that was all that was available on a late booking
Very pleasant helpful staff.
Welcoming atrmosphere, friendly staff, the food looked great but I didn't have time to sample it.Excellent real ales!
Restoration of a beautiful Georgian building, shame the original joinery had been replaced with plastic windows - detracts from the character of the building.
Room was a good size & comfortable. Friendly staff
Wifi awful, very very slow so unable to work. Restaurant to pretentious & veg microwaved & mash not hot.
The size of the single bed was very spacious. The room itself was freshly decorated and offered ample space for a single traveller. The room offered a nice view over the ornamental garden. The bathroom was as new and very clean. Wifi is available and free of charge. The hotel is situated in a rather quiet location and I slept like a log! There is a bar and restaurant at the hotel which is nice if you don't want to go out at night for dinner. As the weather was mild it was possible to dine in the garden on the patio, which was very pleasant indeed!
It was quite warm in the room and there was no air conditioning. I only managed to open the window a tiny bit, but apparently there was a way to open it further. As this was not explained or signposted I didn't manage to get the room a lot cooler and had to leave the window open all night.
This hotel was complete pleasure to stay at, the staff were amazingly helpful, nothing was too much trouble, service that you would expect (and not often get) from a five star city hotel, here at a pretty country modestly priced hotel. Excellent!
Hotel was freindly in a pleasant country location. Good level of parking available and very comfortable rooms. Food was a good standard with enough variety and a sensible price.
Staff, food and location
wifi was very slow
Very friendly, polite and helpful staff. Good choice of food. I would definitely stay again.
My room had two single beds. The bed was not very comfortable and creaked every time I turned. As the weather was warm, a fan was provided, but I had to unplug the tv to use it. It was the last room available, so not what I would have chosen. That said, I would definitely stay again, as the rest of the hotel and the friendly staff more than made up for it.
It was clean There was potential for it to be good, nice garden, bar and restaurant but did not live up to expectations due to staff
WiFi was terrible, no TV guide available in TV, they moved my room because the toilet would not stop flushing in the first room. I was moved to the bridal suite, it was a large room but very hot, the windows only opened a crack. I was made to feel that it was a great honor for me to have that room, with a Jacuzzi bath but to be honest I would rather have had the original room with a shower and windows that opened. I ate in the restaurant but had bar food so was sat in a corner, I felt very uncomfortable especially when the staff started to argue about where I should be sitting, the food was average. You need to leave yourself a lot of time at breakfast since only one poor person trying to manage the check outs and the breakfast.
Staff. Food. Room.
Bathroom design could be reconsidered. Toilet seat doesn't open fully, so has a habit of dropping, which will frighten the life out of you! Only a minor moan though.
warm welcome, clean room, good food
Nice hotel, nice grounds. Very helpful and friendly staff. Would recommend.
Such friendly and helpful owners and staff. We were made so welcome. A very tastefully decorated en-suite room with even decaf coffee in the refreshment box! Delicious dinner in the hotel's dining room.
There is a lovely ambience at this hotel. The staff are second to none and have created a lovely relaxing atmosphere. Although travelling with work, would not hesitate to come and stay here for a relaxing break. Love it!
Comfy beds Good food
lovely staff, jsut lovely, it was raining hard and we were in a local pub, I called the hotel for a taxi number but the phone cut out of signal, next thing I know 5 mins later one of the staff drove down in their own car to collect us! Wow, waht service! Great room, food, bar and reception staff. Highly recommended.
