A really dog friendly hotel with the most friendly, helpful staff you could ever come across. Rooms were clean and comfortable with a Derbyshire breakfast capable of satisfying anyone. Just a wonderful stay.
The staff were fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent,we would definitely return and have recommended it to our friends and family. Rooms clean and comfortable with beautiful views across the valley.
Only slight niggle was some traffic noise, perhaps some secondary glazing to reduce it?
Fabulous views, lovely area Extremely friendly and welcoming staff Very dog friendly Warm and cosy Nice meals Substantive breakfast
This inn is a fantastic freindly, welcoming, good value, good food.what more can i say well done! to all the staff at the in.The chef even cooked my dog a complimentery sausage, bless we will be back soon thank you L.Higham (greedy pig butchers Derby)
Friendly staff comfy bed power shower excellent and good breakfast.
Only things I would suggest are duvets rather than sheets and blankets and lounge area of bar is dated
Wholesome food Fabulous double aspect bedroom overlooking the valley Friendly and welcoming staff
Very welcoming staff, excellent food and drink at reasonable prices.
Gives as advertised, but not with a insincere corporate slant. Comprehensive choice of dining. Situated on dedicated country walking routes
The staff were really friendly and helpful and very welcoming.
Road noise - I know location dictates this but it was very noisy - not the hotels fault though !!!
Location great good for exploring area (wish we had taken our dog!) Handy for Buxton, Chesterfield Bakewell, Castleton, Very friendly staff, good pub food/drinks. Easy parking.
Maybe it's just me but the cooked breakfasts were a bit oily but there was a buffet breakfast of yogurt, fruit, cereals. Croissants would be lovely??? I think Duvets would be nicer than sheets and blankets, blankets aren't as hygienic when the sheet goes astray.
We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely inn and would recommend it to anyone who are spending a night in the area.
Friendly warm staff, good wholesome food with generous portions. Good range of beers. Quite location. Good parking. WiFi worked well throughout.
Comfortable rooms Great base for exploring and discovering the region Hearty breakfast Varied menu and delicious dining Welcoming staff Convenient car park
Very friendly helpfull staff. Food and location
The pub has a lovely view and seating overlooking the hills and trees. Two friendly pigs precariously pick through the undergrowth. Staff extremely friendly, rooms clean, spacious and comfortable with a heartily Derbyshire breakfast thrown in for good measure. We chose this pub to stay over in because it is dog friendly and would definitely recommend.
Very friendly staff and great location.
Room was above main entertainment room and could still follow pub quiz even though I wanted to sleep.
Lovely position just outside Hathersage with excellent facilities. Specially enjoyed the "Italiian Evening" on Thursday. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Very friendly staff. Good shower. Comfy bed. Great food. Excellent service.
Very friendly, welcoming staff. Great location. Excellent food. Clean, comfortable rooms.
Expensive as I booked the only two rooms available for two singles (my mother and I). Over £400 for a couple of nights is a disincentive.
Excellent location, very picturesque, clean and comfortable. We also ate at the Millstone Countyr Inn, the food was excellent and good value for money.
There really was nothing negative to say about our visit to this hotel. I would certainly recommend to others.
Quiet nights. Comfy beds. Dark rooms. Fab cooked breakfast. 15 min walk downhill to hathersage. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Busy road to cross from car park to hotel and fact that I only got 3 answers out of 30 on quiz night
It was clean and the staff were nice. The only positives.
V poor/somewhat limp shower, food not great, bed only adequate, fine if we were paying £40-50 p/night, no more.
The People. Staff and Landlord. Very Dog Friendly
-Staff were friendly and helpful. -Beautiful view across the valley (if you ignore the busy road directly in front of you). -Big fluffy towels
I found it grossly overpriced. 90Gbp for an old, tired, small double room with an average shower is way too expensive. The decor, carpet, curtains, bedspread and blankets are badly in need of replacing. Breakfast was ok if you like cooked breakfasts. There was no continental option. Just cereal, fruit and yoghurt.
