Friendly staff. Good food.
The rooms were comfortable. The food and service was good and value for money.
The taps in the bathroom did not work too well.
good staff and great breakfast
bed belonged in a museum. too small and creaked with every move. bathroom adequate but dated.
Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good. Tea/coffee facilities.
Hotel room had old mismatched furniture and needed refurbishment. Only 3 clothes hangers in the very old wardrobe. Single glazed aluminium windows very draughty and badly needed painting. En suite facilities adequate but do not like shower curtains. The waiter at breakfast was not very friendly - no 'good morning' and no smile. Would not stay there more than one night.
Large double room Very comfortable bed Armchair & table good for working Staff pleasant, friendly and helpful Sizeable car park Close to park and ride
Paint peeling on ceiling of shower
Cosy Family Atmosphere, friendly helpful staff, a very good breakfast.Good wifi speed in room. Plenty of towels etc and spotlessly clean. Good location for visiting Moors and Tavistock areas.
Room a little dated, but more than fit for purpose.
Nice family run hotel. Great location due to the park and ride to Plymouth being 5 mins walk away, and therefore the car can stay in the hotel car park. Restaurant in conservatory. Breakfast was excellent, evening meal menu a bit limited, but fresh well cooked food is better than an extensive menu involving the microwave.
Traffic noise from the main road outside the hotel was a little intrusive early morning and late night.
Friendly helpful night staff. Efficient check in. Quiet room and very comfy bed.
Decor is dated and the two single rooms for £130 wasn't cheap
It's a family business and the staff were extremely friendly and obliging. We felt very relaxed during our two-week stay and our dog was welcomed. The hotel itself had character and there was plenty of convenient parking space.
We felt that the exterior of the hotel needed a little TLC. The decking was beginning to look neglected and the gardens needed weeding and pruning. However, work was carried out on the car park during our stay, so maybe it'll all be better next year.
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff.
Busy main road could be heard from our bedroom when the windows were open -would request a back bedroom in future.
Location to where we wanted to be.
Our room was so yellow we needed sunglasses. I think the place is a work in progress and we had one of the rooms not updated.
The staff couldn't be more helpful.Plenty of parking space. The booking in time, nice and early. The breakfasts were excellent. On the whole a very plesent stay.
I don't sleep too well .Did not help by other guests shuting bedroom doors rather than closing them. I would have liked a less lumpy mattress !
very friendly hospitable owners and evening meal and breakfast very good.
The hotel is very dated and not quite what i was expecting , best way for me to describe it is liking it like a trip to visit my grandmother , everything worked and was clean but very old. Flaking paint in the bathroom not very nice !!
Unsophisticated but good value for money...quiet at night but very handy for Plymouth and Dartmoor. Very pleasant manager and staff. Excellent cooked breakfast as well.
Nothing, except dated decor.
Warm and friendly staff. Good service. Good food.
Pleasant room, comfortable bed, well situated on the road we came in on from Tavistock. Receptionist was most helpful.
Breakfast was a bit of a let-down - fried bread not our thing really. For people coming the other way, this would be their first taste of British fare...
The rooms were well equipt and the staff lovely.
My room had a huge damp problem and had an unpleasant smell, so my stay could have been more comfortable.
Quality of beds, the fact that I was unable to use the ironing board because the receptionist was using it, food wasn't as good as it looked, I paid 79 pounds each per room and I stay in a lot of hotels, I wouldn't recommend paying more that 50
Muchnicer atmosphere than clinical chain hotels Friendly staff Lovely old building Greta breakfast
Maybe not the best location if you don't have a car.
Staff were very friendly, which always makes a big difference to a hotel stay.
The staff were fabulous
The whole place looks like it could do with a lick of paint. Everything looked tired. The picture on the website is very deceptive
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast
The room was comfortable, bathroom a little tired and everything requires modernisation
Good staff, great little bar and lounge, comfortable, homely TV lounge, sunny breakfast room with nice outlook to garden. Large bedroom. Wifi. Parking.
Location - unfortunately, progress in building and road network means this is no longer a country hotel. Main road runs directly outside, handy for buses but can be noisy.
friendly staff. good position with parking. easy access to bus route. local pub eating places.
No food available on a Sunday arrival. Unable to order any meal on the following day due to a Monday Bank Holiday.
