Muchnicer atmosphere than clinical chain hotels Friendly staff Lovely old building Greta breakfast
Maybe not the best location if you don't have a car.
Staff were very friendly, which always makes a big difference to a hotel stay.
Friendly staff, excellent breakfast
The room was comfortable, bathroom a little tired and everything requires modernisation
friendly staff. good position with parking. easy access to bus route. local pub eating places.
No food available on a Sunday arrival. Unable to order any meal on the following day due to a Monday Bank Holiday.
excellent comfortable room (four poster bed), with all amenties. The hotel decour is a little 'tired but its a lovely, welcoming hotel
Bathroom old paint peeling, outside neglected as inside , breakfast poor , road very hard to enter and exit .Probably a good hotel once but has been rundown and neglected , stay right away
The Food, and the 4 poster bed!! - and the friendliness of the staff. Option of a feather pillow.
Close to Park and Ride to Plymouth Town Centre. Excellent breakfast
Good, honest hotel, polite staff, very comfortable and great value. A very pleasant stay.
Was expecting a country location due to 'Country' in the name! But city location wasn't a problem
Easy to walk to Park and Ride to get into Plymouth to walk along the Hoe, see the brilliant aquarium, olde worlde area and modern shops - everything you need. Easy road to travel to Tavistock, moors, etc.
Not enough time to explore everything!
the staff made us very welcome ,very friendly loved the old place
The English breakfast was well prepared and organized. The car parking was good and made it easy to come and go, load and unload. There is not much else that this 'hotel' had going for it. We intended to stay for four days but cut it down to two.
The photograph of the hotel on the Booking.com site gives more than justice to the outside. In reality the whole car park is unkempt, the garden area is overgrown. Unfortunately this is just one of these run down hotels in need of thorough cleaning with extremely old mattresses on the beds and disgracefully old bed linen. Having driven a considerable distance to stay four nights while visiting the area within thirty minutes of arriving we changed this to two nights and were glad to leave. All people have different standards but I do not think many people would be happy with this environment.
More of a large guest house than hotel. The restaurant was hardly a restaurant, felt reluctant to order food as there was no menu ! I was not asked if I wanted to eat as majority of the guests eat out.
Friendly and informal with good facilities
Decor could be updated
No local information at all in the information folder in bedroom. No Doctors location, no shops location. In fact the folder was empty.
close to plymouth.
very tired, needs a good sorting out .bathroom needs replacing, bedroom furniture needs replacing.and re decorating, like living in the 1920,very old fashioned.but was clean.did,nt like having to book our breakfast the night before, even down to what juice we wonted,
As an overnight bed and breakfast stay it was excellent. The room was clean and comfortable, with everything that was needed, the receptionist was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was within a reasonable distance of where we wanted to visit.
We had dinner in house. The main course was lovely, beautifully cooked, piping hot and the veg were fresh. However we wanted to pay at that time, and to order dessert. The waitress, though, was otherwise engaged with guests who were booking in. She rushed past the room several times, once with a mattress, but we waited what seemed like a very long time with our plates in front of us, and the dessert menu was disappointing - basically cake or ice-cream.
very dated , windows single glazed and glass cracked, not the cleanest room Ive ever stayed in. garden a mess and decking along with garden furniture have seen better days, menu very limited as is the bar
Staff willing to o what they could to make your stay as pleasant as possible
Menus handwritten on paper ( didn't change all the time we were there ,with only half a dozen options ) Doors Banging at 5.00/6.00 every morning
The excellent food and the quite stillness of the hotel. The staff are so warm and welcoming. The bed was so very comfortable.
There was nothing not to like at all.
Very plesent and helpful staff. Good food and a good night's sleep.
The Staff were very welcoming and attentive Ideal location on the main road, own car park, just outside the city of Plymouth
The building from the outside needs sprucing up, and a gardener.
The staff could not do enough for us Breakfast made to order at a time to suit you Very clean
Tired decor could do with some revamping Bed not the most comfortable we have had in a hotel
Quiet location out of town centre.
Very friendly and good choice of breakfast.
