From the moment we walked into the Millstream we were treated as very special guests. Nothing was too much trouble, every request was met with a smile. The location is very quiet and tranquil, which suited us perfectly.
Decided not to have breakfast since it was rather expensive. A lower priced small breakfast option would be good.
The weather !!
So far the best hotel we have found on out annual visit to Chichester Theatre
Excellent dinner Friendly staff Pretty setting
Carpet in bathroom Decor a little old fashioned
The location and the reasonable proximity to home.
A less than helpful attitude from some staff members. As the hotel seems to more interested in catering for a more aged clientele, the room was so hot at night that it was very difficult to sleep. Also, being over the kitchen was a problem. While on our previous visits we have really enjoyed the evening meals, unfortunately, we were not so impressed this time. We were disappointed in our visit as we have so enjoyed our previous times at the hotel.
Very attractive hotel with welcoming atmosphere. Good service, clean and friendly.
The location, the toiletries, the food, the fridge, the bed, the staff, the complimentary newspapers, the wifi included and the lounge facilities.
The room was exceptionally hot - reached 26 centigrade. There was an airconditioning unit but this was too loud to have on at night and the temperature rocketed when it was turned off. The room was above the kitchens and there was a very loud noise in the evenings - a deep loud hum.
Very relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff.
The bedroom was large and well appointed, we were able to park very close to access to our room and our meal in the restaurant on Saturday evening was superb.
The bathroom needs updating but I understand re-furbishment is on it's way. As far as I could see there was no secondary lighting in the bathroom which meant you had to floodlight the bedroom in the middle of the night when opening the door. A very small point but the bar staff should learn which glasses certain drinks are served in!
The food was exceptionally good.
Normally rooms are B and B but it was not clear enough that breakfast was not included. We didn't have breakfast but it was included on our bill as it was assumed by the hotel that we would have it. I explained to the reception that we didn't have breakfast and it was removed from the bill without any trouble.
Slightly forgetful staff, but apologetic and kind when reminded!
The location just outside of Portsmouth was ideal and in such a peaceful village with sufficient parking. Staff were friendly and efficient and the restaurant meal was superb
Room 1 above reception was very noisy particularly early in the morning with the deliveries. The Brasserie menu was somewhat bizarre with limited choices.
A very uptogether property Friendly attentive staff Good food Well managed
Noise insulation For convenience - mobility issues - we appreciatively accepted room 34 which is located by rear door. As a result we suffered disturbance from guests and staff passing the room. Furthermore, all movement in room above was very evident. But none of these issues detracted from the excellence of this hotel!
We were a large party staying 2 nights. Our menus were sorted before hand and all choices were ready at the same time. Very helpful staff with local knowledge.
Rooms too hot!
A very well maintained hotel.
The bedroom was very hot, which may suit some of the very elderly clientele but was far too warm for us. Opening the window allowed cooking smells into the bedroom. Not ideal.
Excellent location for picturesque Bosham and Chichester harbour. Staff were very friendly at both dinner and breakfast. Although I booked a single room, I got a large double with kingsize bed. Large car park. Good food. Freshly cooked breakfast was particularly appreciated.
After a busy few days I wanted a comfortable relaxing night. I arrived a few minutes before the restaurant was due to stop serving on a Sunday evening, but was given a table without hesitation and the food was excellent - not low priced, but very good value for money. I was upgraded from a single to a double room at no charge and found it comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast was every bit as good as dinner. The staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. I recommend this hotel without hesitation, and its quiet location in the village, just a couple of hundred yards from the quay, was an added bonus for me.
There was nothing to dislike.
Staff were excellent, décor in the restaurant, Brassiere and bar was modern and fresh, food was also very good.
Room was very warm and a bit dated, but perfectly clean; price was on the high side, although it was a premium weekend.
Single room booked needed a double as per internet search
Public areas were fresh and good quality
Our room was dated with discoloured bathroom fittings and a dated unimpressive shower
Friendly staff, great food and a good location.
Friendly staff Good breakfast
Rooms are very hot Overpriced
The location is good.
One of the worst beds I have slept on, and when we mentioned it, the staff person shrugged, and said some people like soft beds. In fact, it was a very poor quality mattress. The place is over priced at £200 per night, without breakfast. We did not have it, as it would have been £17.50 per person. The next night we stayed somewhere else, and of far better value and comfort.
We liked the food, the attentive staff, and the public rooms. The "private garden" to the side is a particular delight. The manager and his family were always on hand to ensure that we laked for nothing.
The room was overheated. The alarm clock provided had a bright and disturbing light and came with an instruction not to turn off!
