Score from 429 reviews Good
Staff were excellent, décor in the restaurant, Brassiere and bar was modern and fresh, food was also very good.
Room was very warm and a bit dated, but perfectly clean; price was on the high side, although it was a premium weekend.
Single room booked needed a double as per internet search
Friendly staff, great food and a good location.
Friendly staff Good breakfast
Rooms are very hot Overpriced
We liked the food, the attentive staff, and the public rooms. The "private garden" to the side is a particular delight. The manager and his family were always on hand to ensure that we laked for nothing.
The room was overheated. The alarm clock provided had a bright and disturbing light and came with an instruction not to turn off!
The overall excellent product
Good location, friendly welcome, pleasant, helpful staff
Too expensive in my option, overpriced in relation with the facilities/rooms
This hotel is in such a pretty spot in a delightful village. The room and the staff were lovely. We ate in the restaurant in the evening and the food was delicious. Thanks
Polite, friendly staff lovely restaurant nice location
Location in village neighbourhood, friendly and efficient staff, quiet rooms, good breakfast.
Lovely room, excellent dining, friendly staff, great location.
Our room was number 16 and because the room was warm we had to sleep with the window open. Unfortunately there was so much noise from the generator (?) below that we had two very bad night's sleep. A shame, because we have stayed before and always loved it
The ambience, the food, the staff and the general comfort.
I am registered disabled and the lack of a lift to our bedroom was a big inconvenience.
We loved everything about this hotel! everything from the complimentary glass of wine on arrival to the wonderful, professional and very high level of customer service! The staff all seem very happy and give you a sense of real comfort. The food is incredible, the grounds are stunning, the facilities are easily some of the best in the area! And for the price...this is most definitely worth every penny and more!
Honestly...there nothing we didn't like! highly recommend this hotel!
Ambience. Staff very efficient and friendly. Restaurant staff excellent.
Nightly charge for double room of £150 at Three Star property should include breakfast [not extra £14.50 pp]. Food and wine somewhat overpriced.
Everything was as described , staff very helpful, comfortable room and good food.
Could have done with a slightly larger lounge area.
Cleanliness and the food
Over attentive waiters ready to pounce as soon as you put your knife and fork down
Hotel room was excellent and the grounds are well laid out. Staff were good and breakfast was good value for money
Would have liked a greater choice of food on the menu Not all rooms have air conditioning
The Grettle suite. The food and service.
Not much room to park on Sunday afternoon, although the room made it all worthwhile.
The live piano music at dinner.
The room was very ordinary for the price. Our room was off a very cramped corridor with poor sound proofing between the walls. Everything was extra including the breakfast. The food was very pleasant but there was not enough of it. Pretentious rather than satisfying.
The location, lovely local walks. Restaurant excellent
carpet in bathroom
Very attentive staff, great outside garden to relax in prior to eating.
Staf, service, food
Room 17 looks out on the kitchen extractor fans with a steady rumble all night long. This purprts to be a superior room !
Decor, cleanliness, courteous staff, Breakfast in room, disable parking, Free WFI
Lack of air conditioning in room which became intolerably hot. Not a very comprehensive menu. Portions too small. Charge for after dinner coffee.
The attractive gardens and lovely old building. The pleasant and helpful staff. The food, location and proximity to other places of interest. The traditional dining room and also the more relaxed brasserie alternative. The reserved parking spaces for resident guests.
The small carpeted bathroom and very dated colour scheme of our room. It needed to be much lighter and to have a more contemporary feel. The lack of air conditioning as it was a very hot weekend. The awful clumsy and badly made cucumber 'sandwiches' which were anything but traditional for an English Afternoon Tea! The inability to serve a Campari Soda correctly!
