Great location, lovely food, huge bath, beautiful building. Yummy breakfast and lovely breakfast staff.
Long check in time, check in staff were rushed and stressed & felt slightly ignored. Dirty used glass in bathroom with lime wedge, no options to turn up heating (could benefit from double glazing) bed was lumpy.
,loch fyne restaurant was good and staff rerally pleasant, location good
small room and bed, felt a bit grubby. Whole place needs redecorating and refurbishing , three fkights of stairs and no parking
Very welcoming, room had every thing required, iron, coffee & tea hair dryer etc Breakfast was very good. Staff were helpful and informative.
The stairs !! Loads of them. When you have heavy luggage some offer of help would have been very welcome.no lifts.
Fantastic breakfast, cooked to order, staff helpful & friendly. Building had wonderful original features. Room was enormous, comfortable bed. The bathroom was also big but unfortunately had signs of a leak/damp which looked unsightly on the ceiling also some chipped floor tiles.
The bathroom was also big but unfortunately had signs of a leak/damp which looked unsightly on the ceiling also some chipped floor tiles.
Location right in the centre of Bath, above a good restaurant. Reasonable value though. Good breakfast.
Parking distance. Room a little compact, no lift - difficult if you have a top floor room with heavy luggage
Rooms were small carpet so worn it was like walking on glass very slippery, both chairs in room had a sticky residue on them. Drinking glasses were not changed for the whole 3 days and the windows would not shut so a noisy room
The atmosphere in Bath Plenty to see places to visit and great choice of eating places.
Difficult for parking near hotel where staying.
Location and restaurant lovely
No double glazing no sleep
The location is perfect Lots of restaurants and places to visit
Room very very tierd and in desperate need of an update Not as clean as expected felt grubby Didn't really want to relax in room as didn't have a pleasant, comfortable, clean feel to it
the staff were very friendly and helpful
the location was excessively noisy, I couldn't get to sleep because of excessive street noise and when I did was woken at 6.00 am by traffic noise. accomodation is very tired.
Location, great view from room, lovely restaurant downstairs
Hallway smells strongly of fish due to restaurant below. No on site parking so we had to find alternative parking a 10 minute walk away which was expensive and also wasn't paid by hotel
Located in the middle of bath. Fish restraunt excellant.
Room was a little shabby. Very noisy location. No parking facilities nearest is 5min walk. because its above fish restraunt strong odours.
Central location meant easy access to all sites in bath, everything just a short walk away. Hotel was great and will return:)
Room was on top floor so had to climb three flights of stairs, not really suitable for the elderly or unfit. This is only criticism.
Noisy room because the windows didn't completely close; the hotel definitely needs to get at least repainted. It's a shame to leave such a beautiful building in such a bad shape.
Great location for exploring bath. Breakfast very good.
Mattress incredibly uncomfortable. Hotel is actually a restaurant with rooms, so no reception. Access to rooms through toilets of restaurant. Corridors stank of fish. No wifi in rooms. No lift, had to carry bags up to third floor with no offer of help from staff. Decor dated, room was run down and desperately in need of refurb. Shower blocked.
The attention to detail....we arrived at 11.30 left cases at reception (behind bar) returned back around 6pm given keys showen to stairs and told one room on first floor and other on 3rd floor asked if there was a lift? no lift and no offer of help, have never slipped on carpet but did here, very poor standard generally, room 8 shower did not drain properly ring around shower tray, step into bathroom dangerous especially at night. Mentioned all the above to receptionist who was very good and said she would pass onto manager...would have apprreacheated so communication. To someup good location but needs to improvement in many areas. Would not recommend.
Very friendly staff, great food. Close to Bath city centre. Very comfortable room, fan thoughtfully provided as weather was hot. Ate in the restaurant food was excellent. Very happy stay.
Very minor point, doors to the street slightly difficult to get out.
Lovely hotel which is walking distance from the train station. The room was comfortable and well equipped. Breakfast in the restaurant below was delicious; we would definitely use this hotel again and recommend it to others.
There was nothing for us to fault. Anyone who struggles with stairs would find this hotel impractical and there is no car park (we travelled by train so this didn't bother us!).
Central location. Excellent staff. Superb breakfasts. Big rooms.
Smelly staircase to rooms. No lift. Very pricy bar prices. Room decor needs some tlc. Very noisy at night so interrupted sleep
central location, close to car parking, highly recommend the breakfast selection.
The noise from the surrounding bars through the single glazed windows made sleeping challenging at best and impossible at worst. Ear plugs worked to keep out most of the noise. They are due for a refit which will upgrade certain elements, however as the hotel point out they have no lift and most of their rooms are on the upper floors.
My room and view was absolutely stunning! Thank you for providing such a relaxing environment to come back to in the evenings!
Location is very good. Basic in amenities but still good.
Can be noisy outside because of location in cental Bath.
Bath is a very walkable city and everything is within striking distance of Milsom Street, the main shopping thoroughfare. The room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was lovely--gorgeous Eggs Benedict, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, full English, etc. in addition to continental buffet.
Intermittent noises from the corridor made it difficult to fall asleep the first night (though 2nd night, it wasn't a problem). As other reviews have mentioned, the building has quite steep stairs with no lift/elevator. We were alright with our overnight bags, but I wouldn't have liked to struggle up to a 3rd+ floor room with a large suitcase. On the plus side, the staff was very nice about holding luggage behind the bar after check-out.
Lots of stairs, lack of lift.
