We actually liked everything about the hotel, things I noted other people may not like - 1) the bathroom is in the room, its separated through styling and very beautiful room design but technically, its in the same room. So you can't really use the toilet with huge amounts of privacy. 2) the room was warm, and with the windows open we could hear the road, in the morning you could hear the delivery to the restaurant downstairs - we sleep heavy so it didn't matter 3) the staff were occasionally hard to find - amazing service when you found them, but not just hanging around at reception waiting to be found.
We loved this hotel, we stayed for one night on a Sunday for an extended weekend birthday break. We had room 2 which was on the first floor. It was huge, high ceilings, stunning design, the room was totally to our taste (we are usually fans of the Hotel du Vin range and its a similar kind of style). We ate in the restaurant in the evening and in the morning as we already know and love Loch Fyne, it did not disappoint, totally delicious. The hotel is walking distance to everything in the centre - spent two days there doing the major sights/attractions and don't think we were ever more than a 15 minute walk from the hotel! The feature roll top bath was lovely, and there was a huge rainfall type shower too for those not a fan of a bath. If we come back to Bath, we will choose it again.
