I've stayed a few times at milton house and each time it's been brilliant, the breakfast is a great start to the day. Pauline is a wonderful host she makes you feel well at home and nothing is too much trouble.
Pauline was the perfect hostess. So nice to chat with her and her house is very well kept. Nice big breakfast too, so much for my diet! Bus stop right outside milton house and is only about 15 mins to city centre. I had room with shared bathroom but it was all very clean and tidy.
Nothing here to dislike
Lovely welcome from Pauline on arrival. Room booked was a single and given the family room. Yes shared bathroom but only staying for one night. No problems with room or facilities. Cosy and clean with handy bus connections into the city. Pauline recommeded place to eat with dog too.
Pauline did everything possible do make our stay comfortable.
Owner has dogs in the house, so for people with an allergic reaction on peds not ideal.
Pauline was very friendly, helpful and welcoming
Rooms were very comfortable, good welcome, great breakfast
Very friendly owner couldn't do enough for you ... Very helpful
Nothing to dislike
Very nice and kind staff. The place is very quiet. Rooms are clean.
Pauline is a great land lady who can't do enough for you her guest house is clean and cosy and the cooked breakfast is a great way to start the day
warmth of welcome helpful advice good breakfast off road car parking very good value
just slightly noisy neighbours
typical and charming B&B athmosphere, absolutely kind and helpful landlady high sense of SERVICE!
great breakfast, very helpful host, bus stop nearby, parking
wifi too weak in room so had to go downstairs to breakfast room to use it, bus to city center sometimes slow to arrive and slow to get there and back
- great breakfast - comfortable bed - very kind and knowledgeable host
- small room - price/quality ratio is too high
Hospitality outstanding as was breakfast. Closeness to bayside with all its attractions. Bus stops right outside the door
Pauline mine host was first class not only with her food but fascinating conversation. Our twin room was very comfortable, with ensuite, and Wi Fi. Car parking and bus stop right outside the front door. A lovely property with owner to match. First port of call for future visits.
Pauline was so helpful, especially with the bus system and what's good to see and do downtown, place is outside city center, but Edinburgh has an excellent bus system, so no problem, breakfast was great, cooked to order, beds comfortable
wifi didn't work in room, had to use the lounge but that was no real problem, pretty expensive but that's the reality of Fringe hotels
Owners helpfulness Location to bus stop Off street parking
Polly's stories, warm hospitality, delicious breakfast choices, and clean home were just right for our family. She gave us great information about how to get around in Edinburgh, about what was worth seeing in a few days, and let our son pet her puppy. We loved the real taste of Scotland and the warm welcome.
The beds were very firm, and it took our son a bit to figure out how to adjust the shower…but we were very happy with our stay at Milton House!
Lovely lady running a lovely guest house. Am used to staying in fancy 5* hotels with en suite and posh nosh. The food was 1st class with lots of choice and the service guaranteed with a friendly smile. We would definitely visit again.
Sharing the shower and toilet room felt odd and did mean there was a queue sometimes, but found it manageable.
Very friendly and welcoming. Comfortable, clean room. Fantastic cooked breakfasts with a good range of cereals/cakes/fruit as well. Bus stop right outside the front door with regular buses to the city centre.
Very friendly & helpful owner. Rooms were very clean and comfortable and the location was ideal for getting into Edinburgh - bus stop outside the door.
Felt the room was cramped - too many beds and therefore no room for bedside tables and lamps. Ok for a couple of nights but not for longer
Host, parking, nice bathroom, nice dining room, convenient for buses to city center
Bedroom a little small and furnishings/bedding a little old
The owner is very sweet and helps the guests.
The location is a bit far from the centre, but there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel.
The host was very nice, delicious cooked breakfast
There was no wi-fi in the bedroom
