Score from 131 reviews Excellent
Situated in the heart of the Thames Valley, only 6 miles south of Oxford, the hotel, with its unusual and interesting architecture, prides itself on personal service.

Set within an old corn mill with a working waterwheel, this traditional hotel enjoys a tranquil setting on an island between the historically significant Abbey Ruins and the banks of the Thames.

Breakfast a little basic uninventive
Level of decor and maintenance better than in other parts of the hotel Very good bathroom & shower Quiet and comfortable
poor bedside lighting
One of the most comfortable stays I've had on a business trip
location is great the gym and pool are small but perfectly formed. coffee facilities are very handy rooms inside the manor house are nice
the garden wing rooms are a little drab Quality of the breakfast food isn't great, but it is good enough, and there is a wide selection
Lovely garden/park outside windows Excellent conference facilities Restaurant staff very helpful
A long walk from bedrooms to restaurant etc Not good for the elderly
the spa and the breakfast and the fact that our room was in a cottage.
nothing. liked it all.
I booked the room for my parents who were visiting, everything was excellent.
We did change rooms on book in as the original room was not made up,but my parents were moved straight away to another room,so not a problem.
Accommodation , food , comfort
Confusion over the bill I was charged £20 for breakfast for two which should have been £17 which I was told by staff I would have it back I'm still waiting
the leisure facilities the bedrooms the breakfast
Excellent location, well placed for visiting Oxford and surrounding area, easy access, along with plenty of carparking.
Bar staff needed a little life and customer service injecting into her, no interaction or greeting, definetly no Tom Cruise. won`t be using the bar if we visit again.

Some confusion between Booking.com and Hotel over what was reserved on line
Location was very pretty and convenient to Wantage area for our needs.
Bedroom lighting was particularly poor we thought. We had a lot of personal paperwork to go through and lighting was not adequate. Also two bulbs were out on our arrival and the following morning one of the replaced ones in the lamp between the beds, blew again. Lamp should be checked.
Breakfast was great, lots of choice, free drinks throughout the day if required, paying for nice location rather than room.
New build rooms were ok, we would have prefered to stay in the original building and would have paid more to do so. Needs to clarify choice of rooms clearly. Breakfast should be free or subsidised if staying more than one night.
Clean comfortable and excellent parking. Decent restuarant and hotel bar.
The hotel was shabby and needing refurbishment
Ease of check in and out, great facilities, clean and uncomplicated offer.
I liked spa facilities and hotel in general
We were unable to book a meal and were told we could only book after 9 pm and we would have liked our meal at 7 pm as we usually do so we went around the corner to a lovely pub and had a great meal and met many others from your hotel who also could not get a meal from De Veres.
Nice room pleasant staff
No tea tray. Could not make a cuppa on the morning no tea tray at all very disappointing as we had a 5 hour trip home
Smart room with excellent fittings Swimming pool really good
no problems but room is just beginning to need a refit
value for money
No WIFI strength in the room. Constant noise of a fan or aircon system in the room from outside in the corridor.
Excellent breakfast and friendly staff
Tired and uncomfortable bed
Sitting in the garden looking at the lovely grounds
finding our way around was confusing
Main hotel was lovely, walking around the main house and gardens in the morning was very relaxing. Breakfast was very tasty and even though we were a little late getting down for it staff were very friendly and helpfull. Room and BED were comfy.
Lucky I read the reviews about other accommodation BLOCK out back before we went. The exterior needs a tidy up and however it looks at moment the building needs to be put on their hotel website
The complete setup The staff The building The lot Many thanks
Lovely clean and comfortable
Parking could be easier but a walk is good for you
