My wife and I decided to have a short midweek break to do some Christmas shopping, and to get away from babysitting the grandchildren(who we love dearly). It was a great stay as we mixed shopping with visiting a few pubs to rest the feet!!!! We relaxed when we went back to the hotel with a swim, steam room and to cap it all my wife had a neck massage with one of the friendly "beauty team" Then to cap it all off we had a fantastic meal in the resturaunt. Then had to do it all again the next day! Definitly go shopping with the wife again.. Soon I hope!

Location of hotel is ok - however not for those with any mobility issues planning shopping on their doorstep (however taxi's are plentyful for drop-off at Buchanan St). And no different to the Hilton or the Menzies as pretty much same location. 15 minute walk from Central Station. Nice and quiet though unlike other city center hotels.Good food, nice bar, nice pool. Easy parking across the street for £3 per night.

I particularly liked the welcome of the staff at reception. I did not like the fact that no reduction was offered for a single occupancy of a twin room after advance advice of change of occupancy.

Our priorities were parking on site, leisure facilities and child friendly. Your hotel met our needs perfectly and we were very glad to have found it.

I liked the size of my room, the view of the river clyde, the staff were professional and good. The fitness suite and swimming pool facilities. The breakfast was good sausage fried eggs, scrambled egg, baked beans, potato scones, haggis (unusual) black pudding (which i did not have), However the choice of mixed fruit was good. The dinner i had at the hotel was good. The pudding that i had creme brulee was excellent though i was not provided with a spoon. Overall I really enjoyed my stay here and i would definatley recommend it to my friends and family. At dinner i had to ask 3 or 4 seperate times before i finally got my jug of water At breakfast the continental breakfast available was a bit limited for example the choice of yoghurts was not too good and non organic.

Staff are great, lovely rooms, quiet. Parking can be a bit of a nightmare and as a single lady, I find it quite daunting at night if I am parked at the rear of the car park.

Location and staff were great. Food was exceptional The rooms could do with a face lift, esp the bathrooms (cracks on the ceiling and grouting in the bathroom)

Very good value and evening meal was lovely, especially given the price. The rooms are a bit dated and need brightened up. They are also very hot even with the temperature dial turned down.

The Spa, pool and service. I have stayed there a few times and would gladly go back. We got a cracking online cheap deal. So more than happy with the Menzies. The waiting time for the evening meal (40 minutes for a starter) was a bit excessive, although the meal itself was lovely.

We were upgraded to an apartment on arrival and the staff and accommodation were excellent. We had dinner on one of the nights in the package price and it was first class too. We also liked that we had the use of the leisure facilities too. It was also close to the shopping areas in Glasgow, meaning we could walk, rather than use a taxi. We liked evrything abouit the hotel and will return in the future

Good size rooms which were mainly quiet. Good location for city break as long as the weather allows as it is a good 5-10 min walk into the town. Smokers standing around the front lobby was not the best as they were quite noisy in the night. It would have been good to see a courtesy cab service even if it was just for checking in and out guests.

Been there many times and it has always generally been good. Breakfast finnished far too early....spoilt last Thursday. Wanted to get up for a swim etc then have a relaxed breakfast. No chance as had to be down by half 9 at the latest. Had to drag my 15 yr old son out of ben a 9am then rush to get ready to go down. Was at lift at 9.20 but it was so busy we eventually had to take the stairs only to het to the breakfast room and be told we were too late! I explained that we had been waiting for ten mins for the lift so he let us in but just more hassle. Tried the sauna after breakfast but no good on a full stomach so gave up then had to rush to check out. Who wants to get up at 7am when your on whats supposed to be a relaxing break? Not me for one and I will be considering other hotels the next time. Pity.

We thought the hotel was really nice. The staff were really nice and helpfull especially in the breakfast room, the manager and his staff worked really hard and if you asked for anything nothing was a bother to them. The facilities in the hotel were excellent. We were advised about 1 week before we arrived that the restaurants would be closed as there were various parties on which we appreciated, and you could still get room service. We would stay again. Thank you to all the staff. There were two things that kind of bothered me, the first was the Manager from the bar had to tell someone to quiet down but in my opinion he did not handle it very well and he was arguing with the gentleman right beside me which I did not think was very professional. The other thing was that I asked for a large glass of wine on my second night and was told they did not have any, I explained that I had had one the night before, and then was told that all the large glasses had been taken away for the other parties that were going on. A minor issue I know but surely a few could have been held back for the guests as well.
