Great location for exploring York.very helpful staff who made my stay really relaxing as I was on my own. Only a minor one - the charge for a cooked breakfast. |

It was convenient to walk into the city of York. The hotel was quiet during the night even with the window open. |

Room was spacious. Shower was excellent. Good TV with Freeview. Good WiFi reception. Restaurant had closed a couple of weeks before I arrived but still advertised with this facility. Bar prices way overpriced compared to in town prices. Breakfast was disappointing - little choice, basic quality. |

The location We booked what we thought was going to be a nice room with a four poster bed, however the bathroom was not clean, the spa bath did not work there was a shower but no curtain thus no way of showering the floor tiles moved on the floor and the room had no air conditioning. |

Perfect situated just outside the wall perimiter. You can walk to the town centre / minster in a few minutes. Room was clean and comfortable enough for our 1 night stay. Parking is free and you may leave the car for a couple of hours after checkout in case you want to go into the centre for some last shoppings. Free WiFi is only available in the lobby at the reception; it doesn't reach your room. |

This is an absolutely appalling hotel. I have no comments to make in favour of it. It is disgracefully overpriced. The hairdryer did not reach as far as the mirror; there were no bedside lamps; the breakfast was indifferent; a fire alarm was set off early in the morning, and although there was a large number of elderly guests, the staff did not appear to make any attempt to reassure them. |

Very convenient for the Minster side of York, handy parking facility as we were at a family party and spent some time shopping on saturday. The view from the room was good. We felt the room was very poky. We are both quite tall and found we had to duck when moving around the room, as we were at the top of the hotel and had to negotiate the rafters. |

The location was okay. The breakfast was good. The bed was comfortable. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. It was very tired, dated, and needed a very good clean (don't mention around the radiator in the bathroom!!!!!!!!). |

Was surprised to find a room in need of refurbishment as per the rest of the hotel. The bathroom had a cracked sink and the toilet roll holder was broken. The kettle and cups had stains. Hence, my "poor" marking for comfort and hotel facilities. The armchairs in the bar had worn armrests and the decor throughout was in need of a refreshing makeover. |

It was very comfortable, staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome, the room was really clean, the hotel is in walking distance to most of the sights. over all our stay was excellent The breakfast service was a bit slow, and i asked for Tea 4 times and still did not recive it in the end i just had to have orange juice. Some of the wallpaper was hanging off the wall's, but thats the only down point everything else was ok. |

Centre of York within 2 minutes stroll, the staff were very helpfull, free parking. Although the room was recently decorated there were scuff marks on the walls.which could have been cleaned off,the general cleanliness was ok but not enough attention to detail, |
