The location was perfect for our group being close to the centre of York. Also the secure car park made it an ideal choice. Room was clean and well serviced but maintenance could have been better. Breakfasts very good. Served a drink from the bar on first night in dirty glass which discoloured the whiskey! Not offered a replacement and had the impression the individual serving was worse for drink himself. Also reported a non working light over the mirror on the first day which was never attended too. Had Flowers delivered to our room to take to a dinner party we were attending. These not left secure so had tipped over spilling all the water from the vase and damaging the flowers. Staff said sorry for all the above but felt they really couldn't really be bothered. |

The hotel was close to the city centre and the bed was confortable. Sadly a hotel that is dying from neglect - low maintenance, dusty rooms, dodgy plumbing, stained furniture and bedspread - not good value for money. |

Location, friendly and helpful staff who did their best. Room wasnt cleaned. We had to ask for towels. The room or stairs were not hovered. Last guests bits of paper on the floor. Bed was clean though. The room rate of 129 was far too much for the standard offered. We were even served morning tea with breakfast with no top on the tea pot! The breakfast was nice though! |

Conveniently situated for a short walk to the city centre. The hotel is tired and in need of a decor facelift. Glasses and plates were not cleared from a communial passageway from the time I arrived to departure. There were mixed reviews on this hotel, but took the chance anyway |

Access from the road was very difficult and minimal signage made it difficult to find. |

The location was absolutely fantastic a mere 5 minutes walk from the old city wall. With ample car parking space if you drove or 10minutes from the train station. The service could have been improved upon. The staff had the wrong booking dates for myself and were completely unaware of my colleagues booking altogether. When asked for an iron and ironing board I had to carry it myself up 3 flights of stairs. During breakfast I had to ask to be served and then wait until they finally brought the milk. However the hotel did have a positive and welcoming feeling. |

The proximity to the centre of town was good. The view of the Minster was good if you had a top floor room. No bath in my room, bathroom sink was barely big enough to function as such. Double bed smaller than standard double bed. Room telephone did not work. Hairdryer did not work. |

the hotel was ideally suituated for the city centre. However the main hotel bedrooms I thought needed updating. overall the hotel was clean and staff were friendly. |

Comfortable and clean room. Parking on site! Staff is rather young and detached from the guests. The staff seemed utterly disinterested in their work or the guests. A friendly smile goes a long way! |

The staff were helpful and the breakfast was very good. Our room was not ready when we arrived. The hotel rooms needed updating and redecorating as it was very tired. Not value for money. |

Great location for exploring York.very helpful staff who made my stay really relaxing as I was on my own. Only a minor one - the charge for a cooked breakfast. |

Room was spacious. Shower was excellent. Good TV with Freeview. Good WiFi reception. Restaurant had closed a couple of weeks before I arrived but still advertised with this facility. Bar prices way overpriced compared to in town prices. Breakfast was disappointing - little choice, basic quality. |

The location We booked what we thought was going to be a nice room with a four poster bed, however the bathroom was not clean, the spa bath did not work there was a shower but no curtain thus no way of showering the floor tiles moved on the floor and the room had no air conditioning. |

Perfect situated just outside the wall perimiter. You can walk to the town centre / minster in a few minutes. Room was clean and comfortable enough for our 1 night stay. Parking is free and you may leave the car for a couple of hours after checkout in case you want to go into the centre for some last shoppings. Free WiFi is only available in the lobby at the reception; it doesn't reach your room. |
