The 17th-century Uplands Hotel has an outdoor swimming pool, good breakfasts and free parking. A local bus route serves the area, with a bus stop next to the hotel reception.

Very friendly staff who made you feel welcome. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
Staff available for the bar could be improved. Often had to wait as there was nobody serving
The outdoor pool and garden area were excellent. Bedrooms were a good size. Staff excellent very attentive especially at breakfast.
Bathrooms on the small side. Breakfast finished a bit too early especially at weekends. We have a small child who didn't come with us so would have liked to not rush in the morning. Decor was a bit 70's and breakfast glasses were on the small side.
Cleanliness Staff were fantastically helpful
Slightly dated decor
This was a return family visit for us and we enjoyed it just as much as last year. The staff are welcoming and couldn't do enough for us, always happy as well. The facilities are basic but there was nothing additional that we needed. The views and location were ideal. A short walk from the beach, shops and bus stops. The bay is beautiful and sandy with lots for children young and old to do. Would highly recommend it
Very Good food and served hot. Dinning room very nice Staff very good
Passage way need an upgrade Car park a little small for the number of cars at hotel.
The beach was great though crowded and a short walk, we had great stay
The walk back was steep and tiring, so I suggest any tippling at the Miramar bar.
Bed very hard Tables in the dining room all in a line making private discussion difficult. Prefer self service breakfast.
Friendly staff went out of their way to make us welcome Large conservatory with lovely distant sea views Sheltered sun-bathing and relaxing by the pool Excellent breakfast All-round good value
We stayed in room 225 and bathroom has had a nice upgrade but a shelf in shower would have been handy.
Clean, location, helpful, quite
Bed was to soft for me.
Price around £70- max £100
Even at high season, £146 was over priced.

Staff friendliness, very clean and the pool and gardens were lovely
Food was excellent. Staff were always very friendly and helpful. Liked the outside pool and garden
Our room was on the side of the hotel and looked out on to next door's very tall hedge and a side walk to the hotel. There was a very limited side view of the bay. Comfortable room but no views at all.
Friendly staff, couldn't be more helpful. Food was all very good. Lovely location short walk to an excellent beach and restaurants if needed and on a bus route. Clean and pleasant gardens and pool area. Loved our stay, would recommend !
Small friendly hotel, lovely staff, retro décor, excellent food, value for money
slow shower, low water pressure.
Lovely pool area with plenty of sunbeds. Bar stayed open late, after most other bars had closed. Pool table. Nice breakfasts. Friendly staff
everything about the hotel was extremely dated, believe it would be difficult to find another hotel quite like it. However, this may have some appeal to some people and we spoke to a few who stay there year after year. Wasn't our taste but everything was well managed, clean and comfortable
Location, Food ,
Room 228 (upstairs) was very hot (no aircon) little ventilation, was quite noisy shower temp.fluctuated wildly
Super friendly and helpful staff. Lovely and clean.
Friendliness of staff. Very clean. Affordable.
Cannot fault anything about the hotel.
friendliness of the staff comfortable beds food good
some traffic noise in 115 early morning
All the amenities the hotel have on offer specially the wide choice food on offer for breakfast.
Nothing but the weather spoiling my niece`s wedding.
We liked this hotel for the perfect combination of the best location on island (bus stop, airport, big supermarket, restaurants and most beautiful beach), reasonable price, great facilities and excellent service. It is why... we coming back soon!
The friendly atmosphere created by the staff. Our room was kept clean and replenished each day. We had two small dogs and they were made welcome although, understandably, were not allowed in the communal parts of the hotel.
The beds were rather hard, but that is a purely personal matter.
Friendliness of staff, pool and jacUzzi, cleanliness and great power shower.
Ok for us as we had the car but without one it was quite an uphill climb from the beach.
