As we were married here the hotel holds a special place in our hearts and didn't disappoint as the venue of choice for an anniversary treat. The overwhelming majority of staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. The location is stunning, but then I am a Ribble Valley native so am biased! I love the mix of old and new in the venue. The food is fantastic, we've never had a bad meal. The full breakfast in particular is well presented, not greasy and a real treat. Rooms are great, whether you go for an individual suite or a standard, they meet expectation and are spotlessly clean.
The venue could really sell itself by having promotional material for guests to take away. I overheard other guests asking for such and being told there were none although some new ones were being designed and printed. One, just one mind, of the members of staff needs to work a little on his social skills! (Bearing in mind everyone else was fabulous he probably stood out a little more.) The Ribble Valley is a hidden gem, and whilst in some ways it would be nice for it to remain a secret, the hotel are missing a trick in not promoting some of the things to do and places to go in the area via leaflets on the front desk.
The stunning oak panelled Great Hall was magnificent. The Mitton Suite was pure luxury.Excellent evening meal followed by a good hearty breakfast.Alltogether a superb place to stay.
What's not to like!
I loved the feel of the hotel, you did feel like you stepped back in time looking at the decor and reading a book in front of the wood burning fireplace. The location was gorgeous and the food at the restraunt was delicious!
You need a car to be able to get around. Also the ball room is rented out to private parties. I was able to hear the music and had difficulty sleeping my last night, now it did finish about 10pm but my flight was extremely early and I did not feel well rested.
A very welcoming and helpful atmosphere after a long day's travel.
Beautiful old house, lovely decor and bedrooms were absolutely spotless.Staff went out of their way to be helpful and this was greatly appreciated.
As we did not know the area and we're trying to book a reunion for a group, we would have appreciated leaflets to be on show for local points of interest. Not a solitary leaflet. Staff were helpful with this but I feel it was a huge omission
Excellent hotel, lovely rural location, great food, very friendly staff.
No complaints, everything was very very good.
It was a good location for my business needs
Staff were not very aware / attentive No phone in room to order room service Poor/ no Wi-Fi Noisy fire door outside room
No phone in the room was an inconvience
We stayed at Mitton Hall because we were eating at the Three Fishes in the village. Nobody batted an eyelid - the service was charming and the place is beautiful. Wonderful and large welcoming fire in the entrance hall.
Difficult to get near the fire as people had already bagged the seats!
Reception was great fire place amazing
The dogs howling all day and night
Lovely Christmas feel with log fires
I loved having a suite to myself. I didn't dine there apart from an excellent breakfast with plenty of choice. Staff very helpful with directions for the onward journey. Extremely good value for money. Highly recommended.
It wasn't easy to find on a dark stormy night!
Decor and atmosphere in main lounge is outstanding. All staff friendly and professional.
