Near to city center
Request for room facing the river but not given, although it is not busy period.
The location was perfect and the staff friendly and helpful.
The internet was very poor in our room. The staff said it should work...but it didn't. Frustrating as we still paid for it.
Location excellent, had a gym, friendly staff and room was clean, spacious and cool
Lift out of order but no sign
Brilliant location - beautiful view of River Cam
Hotel very tired - rooms stuffy and not particularly clean. Paid wifi is a thing of the past and annoys me when paying such a high room price
the scene from the balcony is beautiful. the location of the hotel is great and easy to find. Also, the bed is big and comfortable.
if the wifi is free, it will be much better.
Location Room Size Cleanliness of room, but balcony covered in thick green algae - not very welcoming! The Cookie!
Expensive Restaurant Very Expensive WiFi (£15 for 24 Hours) and no WiFi available in communal areas (reception/ brekfast room etc) Both lifts out of order and no offer to help with luggage Balcony covered in thick green algae - not very welcoming! Curtains only cover half the window - very strange!
Extremely convenient for the town centre, large car park and very good leisure facilities
Quite expensive but not surprising with such a prime location in an area where space is at a premium. Difficult to find first time. Sat nav tries to take you down inaccessible lanes (ie Laundress Lane) and also up Silver Street which is closed to all but authorised traffic by the river. Access is only possible via Trumpington Street and Mill Lane.
Great location. Comfortable room and a hearty breakfast
£15 per day for wifi. Has now put me off staying at any Hilton hotel in the future.
Lovely location close to city
Not much to do for children and it was very very hot in the bedroom
Brilliant location and lovely weather very good food and lovely and clean wonderful outlook
Location Pleasant staff
Central location on banks of Cam. Room with balcony overlooking garden and river is very pleasant. Clean. Hotel restaurant food is better than average.
The Hilton policy of charging (quite a lot) for wifi seems anachronistic.
The beautiful location of the hotel by the river and in the town centre The very friendly and helpful staff The generous size and tastefully neutral decor of the room the nice toiletteries The very hearty breakfast selection One-off payment for overnight parking Comfortable bed Warm 'welcome' cookie on arrival
Outrageous mini-bar prices
Great Location. We have booked a room with balcony, the view is great.
Price is really high, old facilities.
View of river. Stylish lobby
Booby-trapped minibar. Too hot. Cleaning patchy. Expensive wifi. Dull, expensive restaurant. Just didn't seem prepared to cope with leisure travellers. Poor phone reception.
Good location Very quiet, good to sleep. Friendly staff. Very nice to receive a cookie when arriving.
Spaciousness Quietness River outlook
Very poor fruit juice ( At the least the Orange should Be fresh!) Expected the cooked dish to be Freshly made, not over cooked And cooling on a buffet counter! Undercooked patisserie
reception & dining room staff very friendly and helpful.well equipped room
excessive bar charges , car park charges and tiny swimming pool, crazy mini bar prices
It was a great location with good facilitating staff
Radio reception very poor
Location brilliant luvly view of river
Doors banging at night . Bed was twin zipped together so we kept falling in void. Pillows too soft no alternative. Poor service outside when trying to get served. Spent nearly £1000 on 4bedrooms & no concessions given for breakfast, thought that was just greedy
I liked the location, the room and the staff who were very helpful.
Since this is not a budget hotel, I expected there to be some complimentary biscuits and bottles of water in our room. Unfortunately this was not the case.
Location by the Cam is excellent. Bar staff were kind and helpful and brought us coffee outside so we could enjoy the location.
Reception staff were rude and unhelpful to my fellow guests on check in. Use of the pre authorisation on my credit card apparently stopped me from using another card to part pay the bill, or face paying the pre authorisation amount again. So I left with a bad feeling on check out. Original atmosphere and charm of the Garden House Hotel which I remembered from 25 years ago, and why I returned, had gone. Dinner menu in restaurant was expensive.
Room was cold after a few failed attempts to get the heat turned on we got a portable Heater left in the room - but it took a whole day to resolve this.
No heating from either aircon or radiators. Poor wifi and not free Restaurant overpriced for quality of food. Breakfast was poor quality. Open air car parking didn't look particularly secure. Wont be going again - Cambridge City hotel much better
