Nice tidy hotel, big room for family of 5, young staff it restaurant very helpful When asked about booking a table in the restaurant which we did, we were not told that this is silver service and is clearly not for a family with very young children, which made the experience very awkward, The food was nice but not amazing as you would expect , but was way over priced i guess you pay for service not quality and quantity!!!!

The Moat House was a beautiful hotel set in lovely surroundings. The rooms were clean, comfortable and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again and wished we were staying longer than one night so we could appreciate it a bit more! The only slight problem I had was there was no socket near a mirror so I couldn't see to dry my hair! Other than that no problems at all.

The location was within easy reach but felt a million aways, the setting is scenic, beautiful & very peaceful, an extremely relaxing stay and perfect for spending a long earned overnight with a loved one. My only issue would have been the location of the room it is very close to the reception and the telephone can be heard - although it didn't disturb us.

Everything.Very comfortable room, exceptionally well-equipped - nice toiletries, all the usual equipment plus face-cloths (often omitted), cotton wool/buds, iron & ironing board, electric fan, tea/coffee facilities. Good bathroom - very easy to get in and out of the bath.Very good restaurant both dinner and breakfast. Helpful staff - there was only one armchair but when we asked for another it came quickly. Spacious car-park, pretty lake, good pictures and flowers around. None, although I think any good bedroom for two should have two arm-chairs. The ultimate luxury would be fresh milk in the minifridge.

Had a meal at the bar when we arrived, good food at a reasonable cost. Arrived after a 5 hour drive, was told by the girl on reception that they had a wedding on but we would not notice it!! Still awake at 1am as we could hear the music and people shouting. Went down for breakfast and told that the restaraunt was having a refit so we had to sit in the bar area, took over an hour to have toast and cooked breakfast the people on the next table gave up on waiting and walked out.

Good location Check-in/out very fast Friendly staff Good sized rooms considering the price Ordered food in the bar which took 50 minutes to arrive, way too long. TV remote not working, back cover was off, covered in sellotape to keep batteries in! Requested early wake-up for my two rooms. One was made, the other not. Bathrooms very dim, no light anywhere near the mirrors. Could not really see to shave properly Both rooms smelled musty. Maybe invest in air freshners, clean carpets more, open windows etc.

Location & accessibility from motorway. Room quality. Restaurant was closed despite being advertised as open on the website, and we were left with a poor choice of meals in the small bar.

The original building is lovely and the extensions have been built sympathetically. The interior design is very pleasing and is well maintained to a high standard. The venue has character which lacks in many hotels. We visited on the day of a wedding, Understandably the staff had alot to do but i do not feel that this should impact on the stay of other guests. We attended the bar for a drink in the day and the bar was empty, the bar man continued doing what he was doing at the back of the bar for a good minute or two before serving us without even acknowledging us. We also asked at 1400hrs on a Sunday to order food off main menu to which the female member of staff told us that they only serve snacks contrary to what the menu states so we went to the local pub for lunch. The staff were all polite and friendly but staff attentivness is an area which costs nothing to improve and in my opinion raises the class of the hotel and the quality of the stay.

Friendly staff, generous breakfast immaculate room. For meals outside of the moat house restaurant you will have to drive 5 miles into stafford. So no quick nips to the pub.

I enjoyed the location and the ability to have walks along the canal and around the grounds. I would have liked to have been able to check in earlier and have a few more hours to enjoy the surroundings.

Pleasant hotel near stafford and good for a woman travelling on her own. Generally the price for this hotel is too high but at £75 a night for two nights it was good value. Forgot to deliver my newspaper and breakfast a bit disjointed due to renovations

Bright modern decor, friendly and helpful staff, superb spa, comfortable bed, quiet location and - above all - spotlessly clean. The pillows smelled fresh and new. I had an afternoon event the day I arrived and the reception staff went out of their way to arrange for my room to be available at 11am (instead of normal check in time of 2pm) so that I could chage and get ready. Only a small niggle: the modern hi-tech looking controls in the the excellent walk-in shower had no indication for on/off or hot/cold. In order to reach these to experiment you had to stand under the shower head and get wet with hot or cold water. A small card printed with instructions left in the bathroom would alleviate this. The food was rather average and did not reflect the high standard this nice hotel seems to promise (although the service was good)

I like history and the building represented the best of British culture. I loved the way they have been able to preserve the history but at the same time be modern and clean. The surroundings are fantastic, the staff could not do enough to meet the needs of our party of 11. Wished we had stayed for longer Nothing
