The food was excellent, as we're the staff in the restuarant.

The noise from the M6, which I realise you cannot change! Some of the rooms were a bit dated- for eg the wardrobes.

No sound proofing the room. Kept await by a function

Near to M6 but out of earshot. Next to canal in quiet village. Nice atmosphere.

The general ambience. The helpful & friendly staff. The bedroom. The views (even allowing for the M6) were beautiful in the snow.

The bolster/pillow too hard for my liking. Being from North Staffs I was disappointed the the crockery appeared not to be from The Potteries, particularly given the proximity.

Surroundings are good, nice location

The reception staff were unhelpful. I complained about the cold showers on the evening I arrived and the next morning it was cold again and I couldnt shower ! its unacceptable to stay ina 4 * hotel and not have any hot running water. To be told that it would be taken up with the Maintenance and fill a questionnaire was an insult !

Exceptional attention to our needs and comfort. We attended an 80th birthday lunch, and the staff,s attention to detail was remarkable, especially to the elderly.

Noisy (air-con?) was disturbing but we did mention it to receptionist on departure. It didn't d detract from our enjoyment.

I thought the meal we had was excellent and real good value. The room we stayed in was very clean and spacious.

The walk to the bar area was along a passeway which was freezing!!

Restaurant needs more choice of menus. While the Gourmet menu was lovely it was very expensive and needs other alternatives menus especially on a saturday night

It was 100% perfect in every way

They provide Electric Vehicle (EV) charging so you can stay overnight and your car is fully charged like it is at home. That and it's a really pleasant hotel - beautiful surroundings, just off the M6 so handy for transit stays, excellent food and elegant rooms.

Mattress was odd at the edge - problem with springs? I am sure it was just in my room and will get fixed

lack of seating dining places in the lounge bar. Tables being occupied for long periods by single people or couples, preventing others [me] from sitting down & enjoying a meal & drink

Had Sunday lunch with family who had an anniversary but the food was not up to the high standard expected, sta ter was just warm and beef alittle tough, roast potatoes were hard but did not complain as did not wish to upset our hostsr

We were guests at a Golden Wedding Anniversary and the hotel and staff made us feel very welcome. The celebration was very tasteflly organised and went without any hitches.

Beautiful Hotel in a Beautiful location by the canal and duckponds. Had a couple of small problems with the room we booked but these were solved very quickly to our satisfaction. Breakfast was very good too.

the setting of the hotel is so peaceful and quiet. staff were very nice the bar meals were just fab service was quick even thou they were maxed out its a must visit hotel

Beautiful setting even though it was right next to the M6, which we were never aware of. Sitting on the canal side in the pretty village of Acton Trussell with barges slowly going up and down was a delight. The large pond in front was home to families of ducks and swans. There is a pond to one side too. Very nice breakfast watching all of this activity on a morning is different. The bedroom was enormous with sofa, two armchairs and coffee table as well as an enormous bed. Large bathroom with both bath and bigger than usual shower.

The bed which was enormous and luxurious showed signs of needing a new mattress and restaurant menu in the room or at least on the reception counter would be useful. Minor gripe!
