Comfy big bed, relatively quiet for a big hotel.
Old fashioned ineffective tube fed hair drier and the iron didn't work.
Staff were helpful, informative and friendly
Expected to work from my room via internet. No internet connection in my room from moment I arrived to when I checked out.
Great value good location had a lovely meal in the restaurant on Saturday evening, enjoyed the spa
Given a disabled room which we don't need with view of fire escape .
The room was clean and comfortable. Although it was outside Cambridge we could find it easily. Good breakfast.
Very easy to get to.
we loved the size of the family room there were plenty of snacks to greet us Plenty of milk Bed was comfy
Television too small for size of room
Leisure facilities tired / gym small, in need of an update & deep clean Breakfast adequate, not 3-4 star rating! limited choice ie. No skimmed milk
location and comfortable beds
no a/c in room extremely tired and dated decor
The swimming pool the distance to cambridge
Bad smell in hotel room 12 pounds for breakfast half the time there was not enough for all guests waiting time very bad dinner had to be reserved as otherwise not possible to eat wife not working very bad quality for this price
Most staff tried to please. Room was satisfactory.
Restaurant for dinner and breakfast with food cold and uncooked. WiFi was erratic. Golf course was very muddy.
Staff helpful and friendly. Great swimming pool.
short staffed in restaurant
Food, layout/spacious, staff friendly and quiet.
Wi-fi not reliable. Bathroom needs a refresh - and the cracked wash hand basin was poor.
Great pool spa and gym with long openning hours making it easy for kids to get the most from it Really comfortable and spacious us family room Very convienient for visiting Cambridge
The room was very nice as was the gym/pool area. Breakfast was great.
The wifi was absolutely shocking. Run by BT open zone yet it dropped off every few minutes. Also the bar wasnt showing the champions league football. It was dead Id have thought they'd have stuck it on when I asked.
the staff were all pleasant and helpful breakfast was varied and piping hot
bathroom was very tiny, not clean, hairs remained from previous guests, peeling paint in bathroom, pool area tiles cracked, couldn't sustain a wifi connection
Kettle in room . Ease of access to town using bus which stops outside Staff pleasant
Soul less , Dinner menu not good , Breakfast a disaster . things kept running out and took staff ages to replenish Unstable WIFI. Little storage space in room , ok for 1 night but not for 3. No toilet brush .awful soap.
Lovely pool and jacuzzi. Spacious room will fully working facilities. Staff were friendly, welcoming and happy to answer any questions. Plenty of parking. I didnt use the restaurant but The Fox Inn which is walking distance from the hotel is very nice and good value for money.
Gym is quite small and bit outdated but the machines were all working fine. Not enough space if you want to do free weight exercising though. Bit confusing to get to by car but with a satnav its not a problem to find.
The headline facilities sound good
Unable to have a swim as Aqua aerobics class going on, pool changing rooms were very dirty, wifi kept dropping out every few minutes so was almost unusable. Staff a little disorganized and one particular front desk woman put the icing on the cake! Keep your receipts folks or the hotel will try to charge you twice.
The swimming pool
The room given 108 was an ex-smoking room and the smell of stale smoke was quite evident. To be fare when I mentioned it at check-out a small deduction was made
Plastic shower heads, like in a bad bed and breakfast, with tiny jets of water coming out. Surely a big hotel like this should do better?
Cooked breakfast. Late bar.
Poor booking - in experience. Room a bit pokey. Road signs to hotel need upgrade coming from Cambridge.
One thing I noticed was that the back of the menu said that Menzies Hotels used only Fair Trade sugar but none of the sugar available was Fair Trade.
Easy access from all major routes surrounding Cambridge. The dinner and breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful. The management team were accomodating when issues were highlighted to them.
The inclusive dinner allowance (£22) was not highlighted verbally by staff or on the menus. It only stated supplement charges. The first knowledge was an unexpected bill upon checkout. The steam room was not in service and the sauna was not a facility currently installed and available. The bathrooms and changing facilities were tired, dirty and in need of repair.
Location was convenient. Free Parking. 4 star hotel, but worse than a budget hotel.
Very dirty - not cleaned properly including carpets, toilet and bedding. Shower 30-40 years old, so very discolored. Lighting did not work (missing and blown bulbs) and holes in walls where lamps had been moved. Pool closed without prior warning.
Poor value for money. I would have expected a hotel costing this much to have provided an excellent (rather than reasonable) breakfast and a more elegant atmosphere. It was all a little frantic and a little tired for a four star establishment at this price.
