I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions and ,whilst ok, let itself down regarding the food. There has been a definite change in attitude and management style - all to the good. The food in the restaurant in the evening has improved in quality and choice The breakfast has always been good but they now have hot plates - a real rarity in many hotels The beer choice has been widened, never a bad thing! The effect on staff moral and attitude was obvious
The staff were very friendly and great service was had! The staff couldn't do enough to help and were very attentive.
Lively bar area and very obliging staff. Good health club facility
Quite a way out of Cambridge centre, but the price compensated
easy accessibility to nearby towns, use of pool, very good food with ample portions, clean and comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff
Very noisy at night
The booking wasn't on hotel system on arrival, but hotel were terrific on sorting things out
Hotel did not have my booking although I had an email confirmation. Room was freezing and wi-fi was pathetcic. Food was poor and no hot water for a bath, all this for £105 for one night! Reception staff acted like they were doing you a big favour
It was old not nice at all
The Manager for sorting issues out
Some of the staff for creating the issues in the first place.
Easy access to Cambridge by bus Lovely pool and Jacuzzi Relaxing atmosphere. Great breakfast
There was nothing to dislike.
Food overpriced for poor quality. Bedrooms too hot / asked when leaving the room to turn off air-conditioner. What air-conditioner? Dated rooms. Wi-fi did not connect
It is a nice village,
a little bit far from central city
It's too far out of Cambridge for ease of access.
Comfortable Room Ease of access to Cambridge by bus
Dismissive staff at check in. Trying to extort an early check-in fee for being a half hour early. Cleaning staff entering the room on numerous occasions without checking that we were in it (including before 9am).
Cleanliness, very tired shower, couldn't run the taps in the bathroom when the loo was filling after flushing. Very hot, breakfast was very poor quality. Over priced for the room.
The food was excellent. The swimming pool far exceeded expectations. Staff were very pleasant. Quiet on our side of the hotel, nice outside space.
The room layout was unusual- double bed against a wall. Didn't bother us to begin with, but then became annoying. If we had been going to stay longer than two nights we would have asked to be moved. Bar chairs could do with being replaced- scruffy.
Room had many cobwebs. Room smelt. Carpet not very clean. Breakfast quality has declined since last visit. Expensive for 2 nights
Location ideal for sightseeing -handy for Park & Ride. Very noise as next to Motorway
NEEDS TLC. booked King room but bathroom like a broom cupboard. Ordered afternoon tea -tea/coffee served -30 mins later sandwiches & cake arrived-no offer to top up tea/coffee. Shower gel one between 2. Loads of free tables at breakfast but we had to wait while one was set. Hotel must know how many people have booked breakfast & laid tables accordingly.
Rooms are spacious & comfy. Pool is good. Stopped using the sauna some time back as its restricted to warm rather than hot, but steam room is good
Restauraunt menu is very overpriced while the restaurant service is awful. English speaking staff are a must, not just the cheapest. Wifi not performing yet again- not exactly business class if you can't do any work
- good connection with the CITI5 bus to go to Cambridge city center by public transport. - the breakfast was quite OK ( variety of choice in the food and drinks)
- the wi-fi connection is really poor ! almost no bandwith in my room - the phone rang during the night ( probably an error but really annoying to be woke up at almost 1 am by someone unknown) - last but not least the badroom is so small !!!! For a 4 stars hotel this is very disappointing !
Room was a good size, bathroom was a little small and got very steamy, had to close door to stop steam starting the fire alarm.
Was unbelievably hot everywhere, window being open didn't provide any relief really..sleep was rather restless because of this.
Location,staff and comfort
Food in restaurant at dinner was poor.
helpful staff good food
room needed minor repairs
BREAKFAST WAS FINE. BEDS WERE GOOD.
BATHROOM TILE WAS MOLDY. A LITTLE ON THE SHABBY, NOT CHIC, SIDE.
Cleanliness,comfort and large bedrooms,good car parking,excellent lift
Breakfast service was poor and disorganised, first morning food not very hot,did not think fruit selection very good for a four star hotel,no fridge
