leisure centre good
traffic noise horrendous air con/heating in middle of night noise horrendous also smell from same (lack of mainenence)
Staff was friendly, everything seemed possible when talking to them. Did not have to wait long at all. They have facilities for babies.
Extremely helpful Assistant Manager who assisted with technology issue. Excellent food at restaurant.
Restaurant times rigid
Easy to find, good breakfast
No fridge in room. No trouser press. Broken window catch. Some TV channels not available(BBC4). Noisy bathroom fan most of the night. Just a very average room.
Lovely location and views of the golf course from the terrace of the bar. Staff were very friendly and always happy to help. Very quiet room so able to sleep well. Great to have access to the small gym and pool. I would recommend it for the great food and service but not for a young couple looking for a nice weekend away. seems great for golfers though!
Treated ourselves to this hotel for a bit of a luxury break but wasn't as plush as expected. I think the hotel and furnishings have become a bit worn out and shabby since achieving its 4 star status and the king size room was pretty cramped and basic (not worth the extra money). The pool really needs a refurb sadly and the jacuzzi wasn't working at all.
Noise from the A14 + my view out over my which consisted on a flat roof and air conditioning units.
Good honest staff, quick service
The prospect of free wifi.
patchy wifi that didn't work
The location and facilities are great, the receptionist was efficient and helpful, rooms are clean and comfortable
I ate in the gallery bar and the food was ok but not great, the bar staff were good. The music was a bit Ibiza chill out and if you're going to have Sky news on put the sound on otherwise it is very very repetitive and distracting!
Rooms are a good size and have everything you would need including tea & coffee. Close to Cambridge.
Nothing negative to add.
Friendly staff, nice big room
Small, but clean, bathroom
Very good bed at a reasonable price.
Very far from the center of Cambridge. Leaky roof and a flooded car park. The hotel was a bit run-down.
* Golf course is very nice * Room service is OK * Aircon in the executive rooms * Staff responded well to requests.
* Food (including) breakfast was poor. Take my advice and get dinner and drinks in the nearby pub across the roundabout (short walk) or the nearby supermarket in the same location. * Overpriced room for what it is, drinks expensive even for a hotel... but Cambridge has a shortage of rooms so there isn't much competition. * Standard rooms very stuffy, no aircon. * You have to ask for everything. Despite a long stay, the milk/sugar in the room was not resupplied everyday.
As a business user it was very frustrating only getting intermittent WiFi.
- Bus to Cambridge center
- Not friendly staff. - Facilities are old, no air-conditioning, ventilation not working, no WiFi!! - How can the towels on the floor not changed the 2nd day and put back?!
We had to wait for ages to even be given menus or offered drinks - it seemed like we had been forgotten. We then had to wait for a very long time for the food to come. We queried the type of beetroot in a salad and were told it was dry shredded, instead it was pickled which he had specifically asked if it was not. The food had taken so long we didn't dare send it back in case it took another hour for something else and had to eat around the beetroot. Very poor service.
In the middle of know where, No Wi-if even though it was advertised as free Wi-if. Dirty unkept room, bath filthy, chipped enamel and room covered in dust. Basis tap was loose and swung round when you treys to turn water on. Bedding was stained, Window only opened 25 mm and no air con. Upon arrival about 15 people in front all making complaints as no rooms available for them even though they had booked. Contacted reception on 3 occasions and requested some one come to look at room , two days later , still no one came . Pool and gym in poor condition.
Convenient and quiet location close to Cambridge
WiFi access could have been better and faster
Big room, comfortable bed, lovely shower and plenty of counter space in bathroom. convenient for bus into Cambridge centre
Price of breakfast was high
the staff (except the manager who was talking too much)
Modern, clean rooms and excellent staff.
No a/c or fridge. It was very hot and our room faced the west - made for an uncomfortable night in an otherwise nice place. A fridge would have been nice but not too many of those in uk hotels. A fair hike to Cambridge so 'Menzies Hotels barhill' may be a better name.
The choice of breakfast was amazing, staff always helpful and attentive, couldn't fault our stay
Staff were so helpful and accommodating! Food was excellent, beds were very comfy
Room was very warm and we could open the window fully to allow a breeze however this may have been a health and safety feature.
Great facilities, helpful and engaging staff members, clean and well presented.
Lack of air conditioning in the room was a negative point, outside temps were in the high twenties when we stayed and it felt warmer in the rooms.
Very friendly and helpful staff
Restaurant closed relatively early but food available at bar till late
