Staff were excellent. The bar meals were good value for money. Breakfast was good. Nice views of the sea out of the window. Very hot in the rooms and the dining area/bar No hairdryer in the room but one was provided by reception No wifi a hotel for slightly more mature travellers

The hotel is situated well for the town etc. There are plenty of places closeby to visit. The hot water took a long time to reach the 5th floor although there is a notice on the wall stating this. The decor is a bit dated and tired

Location convenient for town and beach. Friendly management. Reasonable price. Lovely sea view. Clean room. Being at the top and far end of the hotel, room was a little cold at night. There was a free standing heater, but I didn't like to leave it on overnight. I should really have asked for an extra blanket!

Basically the Monarch Hotel chose us as it was the only hotel that had 2 vacant single rooms. There was also a "Turkey and Tinsel" party staying. Despite all that I would gladly rebook next time I am going to Bridlington in the new year, excellent service, good location and not too expensive. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I liked the fact that it is so near to the Spa and the beach. The shower didn't work. There was n't enough warm bedding. There was no hairdryer in the room. I didn't like the arrangement of the breakfast table in the morning I.E. I was placed in the middle of the room and I felt that as a lone female I was on display. Even though I asked to be moved I was placed there again the second morning!

Quiet and comfortable, very convenient for the event I was attending at the Spa Centre. A little old fashioned, but I don't mind that.

Some of the staff were very very helpful. Its location was excellent. The rooms however are a bit dated and old fashioned, however, the room view over the sea was lovely. It was very relaxed and the bar stayed open until we wanted to leave which was 1 am. So overall we would stay there again. Its a bit old fashioned with patterned carpets, bathrooms old. Nothing we couldnt live with for a night. It was clean and warm enough.

liked the position of the Monarch Hotel and the fact that we got a parking place right outside. Didn't like our room - booking.com instructed we state - refurbished room, we were not given a refurbished room. Our room was very tired and dirty. Window sills black, dusty, marks on carpet, all the furniture very tired hardly room to get around the bed. Tiles in bathroom very dirty. Shower not very good at all. Breakfast was basic although service was quite good. This hotel caters for coach parties and they get preference. We will not be staying again.

The staff where most helpful and courteous and very pleasant to speak to, and there was nothing that was to much trouble. The time that I was at the hotel the heating was not warm enough due to the cold nights as I could not turn up the radiator. I now that there where extra blankets to use but as I am use to a duvet the blankets I felt were restrictive, apart from that my room was comfortable.

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room was good value for money in an excellent location for our trip. On first entering our room it had a smell a bit like an old persons care home and this seemed to permeate each floor - but the smell did seem to diminish during the evening.

Had my honeymoon here in 1974. Ive been back a couple of times since. The hotel overlooks the sea, and the breakfast room gives a wonderfull view of the sunrise, on a clear day. The Hotel is a five minute walk from Bridlington town centre. My room, a single, was modern, clean, withe en-suite facilities, tea/coffee making facilities, and tv,yet the hotel still retains its old fashioned charm.. I enjoyed my stay

Friendly, good breakfast, clean and has free parking. It's a budget hotel so don't expect luxury - it a nice place and yes it needs some tlc - you pay for what you get and it's good. Xmas decorations and it's only October.....
