the position is excellent right next to the city walls the rooms were clean and tidy reception staff very helpful the car park is not large enough for all the guests so it becomes a bit of a scrum looking for a space |

The location was excellent, with a short walk between my place of work and the City of York. The room was spacious and very quiet. The rooms are badly in need of updating and rewiring and the bathrooms need replacing. The mattress was the thinnest I have ever slept upon. The pillows were proudly promoted as being hypo allergenic but they were like blocks of wood to sleep on. |

The staff! First of all we were directed right into the car park by a member of staff who was arriving for work (a chef I think). Then the hospitality manager rang several restaurants for us .... finally getting into one by saying we were "VIPs" - brilliant. Every member of staff we spoke to was pleasant and helpful. We thank them all. Breakfast was good. Room was large and comfortable. Shops were within easy reach. A great weekend was had by all (4 ladies). Thanks. Parking was a bit tight, but no other crumbles. |

It was fairly central, within easy walking distance of all attractions, restuarants etc. Was on a very busy main road. The room was a little tired, although I believe there is an ongoing programme to upgrade. |

Staff and food were first class Room 45 was cold (bedroom radiator didn't function properly). The external stairwell access and railing were spattered with bird droppings, and need daily attention. I mentioned these two points on checking out. |

Sevice and staff were good. Food extremly good at dinner, paticularly advising you that all dishes were freshly prepared for you. Room was rather stuffy and over heated. Some noisy (door slamming )guests but by the time we had remembered were the phone was, they'd gone, so didn't inform staff. |

Location very good. Asked for a room, via our booking, not road side, confirmed this at reception at 11am the lady checked and said we were courtyard facing. On entering the room after 2pm the room was overlooking the busy crossroads. No other rooms were available when asking and we had to put up with the intense traffic noise for 2 nights. Also in the evening, sat in the bar, the drains were blocked and the smell was terrible. In fairness to the bar staff they did try burning candles and spraying but unfortunaltely they said this was an ongoing problem . We decided to eat in York in the evenings due to the smell. The bathroom in room 38 was something from the 1970s with tiles like a chippy, mould under the static shower screen and the shower head leaked. |

Rooms were clean and hotel staff were friendly. The location of our room was next to a main road which was very noisy through out the night. |

Staff very good. Excellent location for all attractions in York, longest walk was to the railway museum and took about 15mins. No need to use the car during your stay. Very expensive for a small room, but I suppose all city centre hotels are the same. Bar food was also expensive for what was basic food. Several things in the room need repairing/replacing. Car parking is a lottery, we got the last space. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay only. |

We had literally minutes to grab a sandwich before the wedding photo shoot started. The kitchen delivered outside lunchtime with a lovely sandwich platter within 2 mins flat - fantastic service attitude! No pool for the price |

The food was great...we just ate in the Hotel area each night. Very clean hotel and friendly staff. The first room we was given (Double Decker)...had a spiral stair case that was narrow..room upstairs and bathroom downstairs. The mattress/bed was broken..so changed room the next morning. Staff was very good. |

Children eat free before 7 pm. Meals therefore were great value for money . Well cooked and generous portions. Bathroom although adequate was a bit on the small side. Certainly only room for one person at a time in there. |

When my friend and i arrived at the hotel the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, clean, spacious and the best shower i've ever had!! It was situated in a nice location, not far from shops and nightlife. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family. Overall an excellent stay. |

We booked this hotel last minute for a overnight stay in York and I was very impressed with the location as it only took a few minutes to walk into the town of York. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean. The only thing was the parking at the hotel as we struggled to find a space and various cars were getting blocked in, but there was a wedding party that afternoon at the hotel so we took that into consideration. |
