Montagu Place Hotel  

Fabulous place. Nicely appointed modern rooms with big beds. Very good breakfast. The location in Marlebone is close to Marble Arch, Regent's Parkk, Selfridges, and an enormous number of restaurants.

No elevator....you should tell them if you need to be near the ground level.

Excellent quality throughout

The room (and the bed) was far too small

The staff was excellent-- nothing was too difficult. The room was cosy, but still spacious enough to spread out. The place was super clean and bright with large sash windows. Small details like extra pillows, iPod radio, cafe press in the room with ground coffee, Molton Brown soaps were nice, as well as the decor of the rooms: modern mixed with traditional comfort, without pointy-edged ultra-contemporary design or flouncy chintz-covered, eighty-year old sofas. Hotel in excellent location just off Baker Street, with Paddington (Heathrow Express) and tube stops within close range, although I ended up walking more often as everything was so close. Several excellent restaurants within walking distance. The bathroom floor was heated when light was switched on, a nice ouch on cold mornings. I will definitely be staying here again.

Maybe the bathroom was a bit small, but it was very clean, with updated facilities.

The friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

The staff are personable, knowledgeable and professional, always willing to assist and capable of providing for every need I had. The hotel is centrally located and very close to the Bakerloo line which connects with many important other lines, giving access to London at your fingertips. The Swanky Rooms have wonderful bathrooms (I took a soak every night after a long day of sightseeing and shopping!)

I checked out early and there was a dispute regarding hotel policy and what I would be charged for early check-out, for not only the day I was checking out but also for the price per day they wanted to change if I checked out early. Please be sure to understand their policy fully if there is any chance you may check out early.

Bouitque hotel. Cosy. Feel like at home.

I have travelled a lot, and stayed in some of the world's top hotels. The service at teh Montagu Place Hotel is the best service I have experienced anywhere, ever. London is expensive. The Montagu is well priced for it's location - a 10 minute walk to Selfridges & Oxford Street. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. Molton Brown toiletries. The breakfast generous (very good coffee) and the agreement they have with the local Thai restaurant - the food was magnificent.

This hotel is very convenient for a tour of London, the Tube Station is down the road and is convenient for the Big Bus Tours. The staff were exceptionally helpful and always welcomed you back from a long day out with a nice big drink. Very comfortable big bed and clean linen and towels, we would also recommend the area as it is relatively quiet for London. We would stay there again.

Staff were young eager earnest willing and completely incompetent. At this price point, you are either paying for facilities or for service. This is a townhouse hotel, so no facilities other than the comfort of the rooms. But no services either.One would expect the staff to know the neighborhood, be able to instruct how to pick up messages from the vmail system, or place an international call--which they didn'T. The offer of a newspaper, or a flower or apple in the room or any small attempt at graciousness would have made a big difference to me when paying this price for a simple room.
