The food was wonderful. We stayed one night as it is an expensive hotel but the afternoon tea with cakes, the breakfast and evening meal were very good. The garden was beautiful and looking out on to it as we ate was lovely. Thank you so much for sending on my nightie I left at the hotel. Our room was right on the road and it was very noisy. The outside seating for the restaurant below our window was noisy with childten until about 8.30 and then the lorries started going past our window by 7am. The room needs secondary glazing whixh we have installed in our own home and it is now beautifully quiet.

In a lovely location and with bags of character and style, it's a great place for a weekend away. It has a Michelin starred restaurant and friendly staff. The decor in parts is a little tired, the pillows smelled of bleach!

Quaint charm, and the little extras like the bed covers being turned at night time plus the pillow mist, and the complimentary cup of coffee at your chosen time delivered to your room in the morning. The room was too hot during the night and we weren't able to turn the radiators down or off. Also the bathroom was a little worn looking.

The staff are excellent and most helpful. Have stayed before and always enjoyed the dinner but the restaurant is closed on Mondays which was a big disappointment as we could have chosen another day if we had known about this. Montys is ok but ordinary. Be helpfulm to inform clients about restaurant closing days. Price of a Kir Royale was outrageous....£12.50 And more Kir than necessary. Would like a refund for this!

This was our first stay at this hotel and from the moment we arrived the staff were very welcoming. The fires were lit, it was very cosy. Our room was a standard room and overlooked the gardens. We ate in Monty's Inn, the food was excellent with effecient and friendly staff. Breakfast was perfect and served in their Terrace Restaurant. On check out we were given bottles of water and fruit for our onward journey. Would definately stay here again, everything was perfect. Thank you for looking after us so well.

The Terrace restaurant. The food was exquisite, if a little expensive. £260 for 2. Some of the decor was a bit shabby. For example, the toilet seat and soap dish holder were broken. There was also a slightly musty smell. Also, the clock in the room was an hour slow. This meant we missed breakfast because it was 10am when we thought it was 9am. Fortunately breakfast was kindly brought to our room. As mentioned above, the meal seemed a little on the pricey side and we were also mistakenly charged for 3 glasses of wine instead of 2. Luckily I spotted the error and it was corrected.

The staff and setting for the hotel were both fabulous. Highly recommended for a weekend break for a couple. The use of the facilities at it's 'Sister Hotel' - Carey's Manor was a massive plus point and a must for any perspective guests. The facilities within the hotel (bar, restaurant, gardes, etc.) were all of a high standard and really made the hotel. The room in which we stayed was a little disappointing. The decor was very dated and the bathroom was also below par for the money paid. I would not consider the hotel based upon this particularly good value for money.

The staff were very helpful and pleasant. The food and service in The Terrace restaurant were both excellent. The setting of the hotel near the river and the the pleasant gardens added to the relaxing break.

The Monagu Arms is in a wonderful setting in the middle of the pictureque villiage of Beaulieu, in the heart of the New Forest. It is a lovely old building with beautiful, well kept gardens behind. We only stayed for one night, but our room was lovely. Traditionally decorated and very comforable. We had our evening meal in their Cordon Bleu restaurant, and had one of the best meals I think I have ever eaten. It's not cheap, but a wonderful dining experience.

Lovely friendly staff at the hotel and the gardens to the property were stunning - the whole place is really relaxing and we had a great stay. The small touches were what made this place special - a free morning paper, magazines available to read whilst relaxing on comfy chairs in the garden and bottled water for the trip home The only tiny negative I can think of (and I'm being really picky) is that breakfast is only served til 9:30 which was a tad early and the two French waiters in the restaurant weren't as friendly as the rest of the lovely staff.

The decor of the hotel and its garden was excellent and the receptionist Mannan was very friendly The hotel tried cancelling my booking on the week of the stay as they had over booked despite the fact that I booked in March through Booking.com and as I'd booked through a third party my booking was apparantly not as important. I was made to pay pay for the room on arrival which is not usual procedure and having ordered a sandwich from the room service it took over an hour to arrive. Not great service

The staff are very welcoming and do all they can to make your stay a pleasant one. Hotel is very comfortable, like a small country house, yet it is not over-formal. Have stayed here several times and love it. Nice that they provide robes, but have to say this time they were rather grey and shabby. Not that it mattered that much for a one-night stay, but don't want standards to slip!
