Best Western Montague Hotel

The location - very convenient to the town & seafront, yet fairly peaceful. The room was well laid-out & comfortable with a good en-suite. Overall, a very good deal considering the attractive rate paid for 2 nights.

Very friendly staff. Clean and well maintained, comfortable room. Excellent food and service in the restaurant. Have stayed before and would definately stay again.

The location, ie proximity to sea and town, quiet and relaxing

room appeared to be newly decorated, spoilt by dirty carpet, as it is quiet time of year and rooms were still available, it could have been taken off sale and carpet shampooed

The breakfast was very nice.

The bedroom (no. 33) was very cramped but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Would suggest that the dressing table is positioned near a mirror so that you can see when drying hair.

The staff were always polite, helpful and obliging. They make the hotel what it is.

A typical seaside hotel which looks as if it has been recently refurbished. Nicely decorated interior with a smart looking bar and reception area which created a good first impression. Staff very friendly and breakfast was delicious.

It is a shame but the lack of attention to the small details in our room let the hotel down. The 'Familly Room' that we stayed in came with a fold away bed and thin matress. The blankets on all of the beds looked 'tired' and in need of replacement. This was one of the larger rooms in the hotel but was still tight with the three of us in it. The bathroom looked as if it had been recently refurbished but the wooden bath panel had dark damp stains in the wood and looked horrible. There were also signs of mould around the area of the bath.

The chef was fantastic, catering for special diet even without asking.

The location was ideal. Very close to the shops and beach. The room was nice, clean and presented well. Free parking was available on site which is a bonus. The reception staff were very nice and helpful. . it was cheap-ish.

I had been assigned a double bed, though when I got to the room is was 2 singles pushed together. These were the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept on. I woke with a bruise from the seams from the mattresses in the morning! I didn't sleep well as the walls are very thin. I could hear everything from the rooms on either side, the hallways and the rooms above me. Needless to say, even though it was fairly priced, i'd rather pay more and have a good nights sleep! If u want a lay-in or you're a light sleeper, this isn't the place to stay! Plus i'd have like something bigger than a hand towel to use after a shower! Breakfast ok, if u like your food swimming in oil!

Location, 5 mins walk to the Triangle. Cleanliness and helpfull staff.

The stay was pleasant, room good 10 mins walk to beach although downhill so uphill back!!! Very clean comfortable room ideal for a weekend break.
