Read reviews on tripadvisor stating average facilities but excellent staff and that's exactly what we experienced. There are more contemporary and modern hotels in Bournemouth but I have yet to stay in a hotel with friendlier staff. Bar area and dining area are comfortable but basic. Front stairs have no ramp so had to keep carrying pram up about 12 steps.

The hotel staff were very polite and helpful and it is near the bic which is great! The room we had was very small, with a particularly small bathroom. The only useable plug for the hairdryer was by the window, with a mirror on the side wall where you couldn't see into it. I also woke up in the night with what felt like bites around my feet and legs. The bed seemed to be old and uncomfortable!

The staff were helpful. Be aware that this is not a hotel, it is a b&B. They have changed recently, and do not appear to be publicising this fact - even their hotel welcome pack in the rooms do not mention it. I arrived after travelling for a few hours, and following the instructions in the welcome pack, I called down to reception to ask about lunch - it mentioned snacks and drinks 24/7 in the welcome booklet, but didn't have a menu. I was informed that the 'hotel' is no longer a hotel, but a b&B. I was advised that their affiliated restaurant is 4 minutes walk away, and that they would try and get me a reservation, but that they only served food on site from 18.00 - 21.00. I was hungry, but had dinner reservations for that night so didn't want a full meal, but was offered 'crisps and nuts' from the bar. Not impressed. Also, there were dirty plates in the restaurant at breakfast, and the full English was overcooked (the sausage was solid inside).

Lovely old building, very central with the beach only a short walk away. Nice little bar area and friendly bar staff and restaurant staff. The gentleman on reception/bar was very helpful and friendly. Good size room for three people and nice breakfast room. Don't mind the sqeeky floorboards but otherwise you can hear everything happening in the next room. Also the matresses are extremely soft and not very comfortable.

Met with a friendly welcome. Waitress service excellent, nothing too much trouble. Room large and nice and warm. No traffic issues and parking not a problem. We really only had one problem-I booked a room for 3 adults and expected either a single and double bed or 3 single beds. Either option would have been fine. What we got was a double bed plus an uncomfortable put-you- up with a thin mattress. The bars underneath could be felt. We asked for a spare mattress but was only offered a single room at an additional cost which we did not want. The hotel was not full but there was no offer of a spare matress from another put-you-up which would have helped. There are no rooms that can accomodate 3 adults in this hotel, only 2 adults plus a small child. I have emailed Best Western's customer services but have not had a response as yet. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone needing accomodation for 3 adults.

The hotel staff were very friendly. Location was good: within walking distance to Bournemouth Town Centre. The price was very affordable and parking was free. A lot of things were not available in the room eg shower caps. But we got them when we asked at reception. Also one of the rooms was a lot smaller than the other including the tv. Range of tv channels was a bit limited as well. But overall it was good value for money.

Convenient for Bournemouth International Centre which was venue for son's graduation ceremony The bar. Bar staff had received no training - did not know what some drinks were and served them up in cheap, nasty and inappropriate glasses.

We went away with friends for the weekend, we have never used Best Western before and wasn't sure what to expect. Everything from start to finish was great, friendly staff, spotless rooms and bathrooms, tea and coffee replenished each morning. 24 hour reception, also hairdryer in room and iron ( didn't use that). Would certainly go back.

“Fantastic family friendly hotel with large rooms and lots of space. We had a large double room with two extra camp beds put in and still had space to swing a cat or two!! The swimming pool area is lovely and although children are only allowed at certain times it is still very family friendly. Breakfast is great and again it is family friendly, my children were very pleased to be allowed to choose their own breakfast! ” Agnes, Reading |
