In London's Bloomsbury area, The Kingsley is a 4 minute walk from Holborn Underground Station. It has a striking Edwardian façade, and combines both traditional and contemporary features.
Score from 678 reviews Very good
Desk staff and concierge services excellent. Location couldn't be better for theater, opera, or dance. Relatively reasonably priced.
Bar staff could be a bit warmer.
Staff were outstanding
The staff are wonderfully helpful and thoughtful. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable. The Hotel is a typically English boutique Hotel. Nothing is a problem.
Nothing not to like.
Your personal attention.
Very friendly and welcoming hotel, where every effort was made to make us feel at home, and every member of staff did their best to cater for our every need. Tasteful boutique hotel, with comfortable bedrooms and lounge and bar areas. Wonderful breakfast, with plenty of choice. Really enjoyed the piano playing in the bar in the evening. Would definitely return again, and recommend hotel to others. Well positioned, opposite the British Museum, and a 10 minute walk from Covent Garden, and Euston, St. Pancreas, Kings Cross stations.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. The quiet room in the heart of London was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the short walk to the British museum across the street.
Proximity to theatre district and the tube.
Friendly with a high standard of service
Looked after us nothing to mutch Truble
The staff really make this hotel. They are friendly and attentive and made me instantly feel at home. The little touches also made for an enjoyable stay... e.g. my room was ready when I arrived early after a long night flight from the Middle East; there was fruit, coffee and muffins available in the lounge area in the morning and ice-cold lemonade in the afternoon; a coffee plunger in the room alongside the usual offerings, a pile of magazines on the bedside table. The Montague is a real gem.
Location, staff, rooms
Most uk hotels have that stuffy feeling Victorian dark rooms plush chairs et cetera. Here Victorian is pleasing to the eye,the little details in decor just magnificent. The food I had over two days exceptional ,the bar ,I felt like at home. Travell with a large dog, hotel asked for size,ok schnauzer big, next mail ,what's her name,we're they expecting us with balloons and doggy name on it? No little doggy tray and bed, totally undersized, but it's the effort that counts. Special room with a small patio,so dog could enjoy the outdoors while I do business, great.special thanks to the staff, arrived late, kitchen about to close, yet I still got an exceptional burger (Kobe ) . The staff really bends over backward to make you feel at home, the welcome feeling towards me and doggy I felt at home. Travel a lot and usually stay in upper quality standard hotel, goog quality and service, but this hotel sets a new standard as far as I am concerned . Traveling with fluffy or girlfriend I will return Special thanks to mark the concierge for,we'll everything Axel k.
I had saved up for a special overnight break, and this exceeded my expectations.
The room was spacious and well-appointed. The staff was attentive, friendly, and went above can done gone to ensure our stay was pleasant. Their high tea is a MUST. Ask the bartender for a "champagne saber" for a real treat. The location is in an iconic, quiet London street, close enough to navigate the major sites but far enough to be enjoyably peaceful.
There was nothing to disappoint!
beautiful boutique hotel with personalized feeling, incredibly helpful and kind staff that were very accommodating of our disabilities, terrific location. really made for a lovely, happy stay in London!
Staff Attention to details in rooms Quality products in rooms Great breakfast
Don't pay with your card. Checked out 12 days ago and held funds have still not been released. Made several calls but still no resolution. Very very disappointing
The welcoming staff are what make this charming hotel. Could not fault them throughout our 5 day stay. Many thanks to all of you for making our London visit so enjoyable.
The staff really make this hotel one of the best in London...as does the very good breakfast!
Nothing to dislike at all! (Except having to leave)
Location. Service. Staff. All excellent.
We all know space in great cities like London is at a premium. These so called double rooms take small to a new level - we had to ask them to remove a chair from the room so we could stand up the second of our two suitcases in the room!! This would work as smallish single room at most.
Staff and facility
All staff encountered were so friendly and conscientious. A delay in our room being ready resulted in fulsome apologies, complimentary drinks and an upgrade to a stunning suite. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for the staff, and they seemed to take personal pride in providing the best service possible.
Loved the standard room, even without a view. Loved the common rooms with comfy chairs. Loved LOVED the smart helpful fun staff. Loved the breakfasts loved the dinner. Loved the tea. Loved the location. Stay here, totally worth it.
On the last day on the way out I tipped the one concierge (they were both VERY helpful with theater and train tickets as well as arranging tours and were generally just really nice too) and I THOUGHT my BF tipped the other. But he didn't. So as soon as the cab dropped us at the train station I emailed an apology to concierge #2 to let him know how appreciated he was. Didn't hear back from him. SO I guess he was either really busy OR a bit upset (understandably). They are awesome guys, please don't forget to let them know how much you appreciate their help BEFORE you leave.
The staff was extremely attentive to all my needs. Upon an early arrival they made sure that I was taken care of while waiting for my room. Would highly recommend The Montague On The Gardens for anyone looking to be pampered.
Lovely hotel with old world charm.. Great staff.. Exemplary service. Located right next to the British museum. Single rooms are a bit small.. But that's normal in London. Don't miss having breakfast on outdoor deck facing Bedford gardens
