Location, rooms, first floor amenities, dining and bar, morning breakfast all excellent. Staff some of the friendliest and most can-do around. A return is most definitely in order.

The only slightly weak point was the knowledge of those staffing the evening concierge desk, this with respect to restaurant recommendations. We expected better, reliable recommendations. We shifted to the web for dinner plans each evening.

My wife and I stayed for one night. What a find, great location, friendly, efficient and helpful staff and excellent facilities. Nothing was too much trouble for them. We were fortunate to have a room upgrade which was a great bonus. We will certainly be back on our next visit to London

Wonderful location. Fantastic staff. Instant response to any request.

The extra fold out sofa made the room very cramped. I spent a lot of time stubbing my toes.

This is "our" hotel in London. We have stayed here several times and will return. This was however the first time we stayed in what I think they call a "classic" room. We will not do that again (see negative). Positive (again) - location - personnel - the bar

The standard (classic?) rooms are much too small. We did not have much luggage (only hand luggage) and we could not find place for our things. It became a mess in 3 days. In a small room why: - have two telephones (that no one use anyway). We had to place them on the floor to have room for our things on the tables - fill all spaces on tables with brochures, info, etc. We removed it and stacked it together, but the next day the cleaning person had put them back. Why not put it I holders stuck to the walls - have huge lamps standing on bed tables which means that there was no room for books. Again, put lamps on the walls My recommendation is for the management to stay one week in one of these small rooms (2 persons) and learn from the experience when designing the interior of a small hotel room. The examples I give above are just a few ideas of how to improve the use of the space. ... or make it into a single room

Nice personalized touches - welcome sweets, daily notes of things to do at hotel, right next to British Museum, quiet, updated interiors, free Wi-Fi, expansive breakfast can be included in rate.

I know it is London, but the size of the room seemed small for $500 US (including tax & breakfast). Windows were dirty. The two boxspring frames put together for a king made an uncomfortable ridge under the mattress. The desk lamps are poorly designed and mine was broken. They need to pay more attention to these details.

Outstanding staff at every level. Upgraded to a suite on arrival and my partners birthday made more memorable with signed cards etc from the General Manager and a number of staff. Above and beyond the call of duty :-)

Since we didn't have our own transportation and we had only a day to explore London, the location made it so easy for us to get around. We were able to hop on a tube as well as find many bus stops along the way.

    Nothing.

Hotel's location is a perfect spot for London's history, so much to see within 30min walking distance. The Staff! Very professional, polite, they made our stay so warm & enjoyable. The Hotel! located just off the main through fare, makes for peaceful evenings. Loved our stay, will return.

    Hated to leave.

Everything. Love the beautiful interior, superb service and great restaurant. Bloomsbury is very central and practical with a direct tube-line to Heathrow.

Small and overfurnished rooms. Less furniture would make rooms feel more spacious.

The staff seemed genuinely friendly and eager to help. It was the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The hotel let us move to the quiet, garden-side of the hotel, which was nice and very quiet at night. The rooms were a good size, as were the well-appointed bathrooms.

The afternoon tea was not good value for money at all; the food was mediocre and the service rather lax (tea went cold). Breakfast items seemed of the frozen variety. The king/twin rooms only really worked as king rooms. Turning a king into a twin was just awkward.

Friendliness of staff, upgrade to a junior suite, excellent high tea, good facilities, helpful concierges, well appointed rooms, airport transfer service. Will definitely stay at a Red Carnation group hotel next time we are in London.

    Nothing at all to dislike!
