Good,
Score from 46 reviews
“ I only had one night stay at the hotel as I had been meeting old school friends and family in Leyland, Lancs. I wanted to stay at the coast to get some fresh air instead of town, I also lived in Lancashiren until 1973 and as a child our family visited Lytham St Annes. ”

Wakefield
The family-run Monterey Beach Hotel enjoys a fantastic seafront location on Lytham St Annes’s North Promenade. There is a hotel bar, free parking and a TV in every bedroom. The Staff were friendly The room was clean and comfortable, albeit a little small. The hotel is near the promenade and town. Restaurants, Cafe's, etc.nearby. The Tariff was very reasonable and excellent for those on a low budget. Information not available - had to find out by default. E.g. deposit needed for tv remote-advised by other guests. Breakfast in basement, dark and gloomy; additional room available when busy, but not informed of this by Hotel. Space for Coach was not signposted - some guests had to move their cars. I did not know that cold lunches were available on request-saw another guest with sandwich. There was info posted on wall for Coach parties-but not available for other guests. The hotel's décor and furniture is very dated and in need of refurbishment. The Lift is old and scary, it broke down whilst I was there. Repaired overnight but continues to be noisy and somewhat precarious.

I liked the position of the hotel to the beach and the parking facilities as I was travelling alone. The hotel was closed to a shopping area with easy access to Blackpool and Fleetwood I was in the last room in the hotel and found it very cold at times. I'm a vegetarian and no option was given for breakfast.

Location was excellent , as we had a dog with us , access to the beach was directly across from the hotel. Was good to find a good dog-friendly hotel at a reasonable price to stay. No problems with this hotel for the price we paid.

Only that it was on the front. The interior was very 'tired', very seventies, the carpets were dusty in the edges and the corners. The tea, coffee and milk in the room was cheap stuff and tasted foul. The tv was a cheap minuscule model, anchored to the side wall and it could not be seen from the bed. (The fact that whoever fixed it in the first place was satisfied speaks volumes about care and policy). And to add insult to injury I had to pay a fiver deposit on the remote control! The dining room was like a dungeon, it was in the basement, no windows. The breakfast was not very imaginative. The man who received us was unshaven. They cocked my bill up. . .etc.. ....but it was cheap, so I guess you get what you pay for. Wouldn't go back.

Convenience to local shops, Quiet area with sea view Staff friendly Quiet Hotel The bed was quite comfortable we got a good nights sleep Food was of good quality Hotel room that we stayed in is in serious need of refurbishment although it was clean.. Large cracks in ceiling and what appears to be subsidence, Shower was a reasonable size however the sealent needed to be replaced, The floor in the toilet/shower room was uneven and although a type of linoleum was laid you could feel lumps underneath Good quality food was spoiled by small size of meal

Proximity to beach. Clean, if faded, bedding. The man on reception didn't offer to help with my case, just put me in the lift with the words "your room is right opposite the lift doors, you can't get lost". Expected better quality for my money, very overpriced. No hairdryer in the room, had to request one. A deposit (returnable) was required for the tv remote contol. No shelf for toiletry bag in bathroom (only place was the floor (UGHH!) so it was left on the dressing table. Very jaded and down at heel, really needs refurbishing. Sockets were poorly placed in the bedroom, had to move things around to dry my hair comfortable. Overall, a big disappointment.

We were very satisfied with our accommodation and the service we received, The staff were very helpful and there was a friendly atmosphere. The hotel is situated in a good position for the shops and for bus stops - which were quite frequent. The breakfast room. The stark white walls with no windows, low ceilings and cramped tables. I felt that a few pictures on the walls would have made it more appealing . There was a lovely room on the other side of the lift.

I wanted to stay at the coast to get some fresh air instead of town, I also lived in Lancashiren until 1973 and as a child our family visited Lytham St Annes. I found it very convenient for the beach and was not aware of the lovely shopping area etc and all the various additional attractions since I was young. I would definitely go over again and stay at the Monterey Beach Hotel again for a few days. I obviously was in a single room which was at the back of the hotel, it would be lovely to go and stay at the front but would have to look at the cost as I am a pensioner. There was nothing at all I disliked about the hotel but I did not have much time there due to other commitments.

The room. I was up-graded because the hotel was empty. If it had been at Whitby I would have been scared, sea side location, Dracula, no body around during during the day. Return in the evening to a darkened hotel, supplied with a key to unlock the front door, not a living soul about. A creaky lift to add to the experience. Breakfast was poor, horrible spicy sausages, bacon dried up, not crispy, just dried up, cooked to long, congealed baked beans, standing to long, probably from the day before. Can anyone in Blackpool cook an egg. no choice offered, tea cold. Toast ok. It is shabby, no entertainment, no staff, apart from recepionist, who was good. Food poor quality. Dining area very shabby. Breakfast selection poor. Receptionist and security man cooking, I am all for multi tasking, however, wether I was the only guest or not, you had an obligation to provide the service advertised.
