Quite amazing guest hotel, I really enjoy this three days here. Especially the breakfast, I will never forget it. If someday i could back to windermere, I will live here again.

The room was lovely and clean and despite its small size, had everything you needed-TV, dvd player, hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner,coffee- making facilities. The bed was super comfortable and the room was kept clean throughout our stay. Breakfast was delicious-we had both the "breakfast in bed" and cooked breakfast options and really enjoyed ourselves. Ideal location as well and nice and quiet in the evenings so you can get a good night's sleep after a day's walking.

The cupboard with DVDs was kept locked, which was a slight inconvenience on one of the nights when we came back after 9pm and wanted to watch a film and could not get access to the key. However, this didn't really bother us as you don't really come to the Lake District to watch films anyway! And I completely understand why it needs to be locked as not all guests are as honest and trustworthy as us ;)

Breakfast

Leigh, the owner, was fabulous she was very accommodating, beautiful accommodation. Fab location, within walking distance of two towns. She covered all the bases re local information and was fab value for money. We didn't fancy full English so continental breakfast served to our room was a lovely treat and included in room price, lovely touch. We will be visiting again.

Only complaint was the shower wasn't very powerful but everything else was so good we forgot to mention it to Leigh.

W e had a lovely stay, everything was excellent, the food( breakfast) was fresh and plentiful with a great choice, the room was comfortable, very clean and of a high standard and the owner was friendly and a wonderful host, she gave great advice of the area.

The hostess Leigh was delightful, very warm & friendly. Montfort Cottage was homely, warm & inviting, excellent levels of cleanliness & the breakfast is fab, we will definitely be going back. It's location is excellent, half-way between Bowness & the top end of Windermere, which as any visitor to Windermere will know is a good walk from one end to the other!

Everything. Leigh the owner/house keeper/chief cook & bottle washer is amazing and tends to your every need. The rooms are lovely and very quiet. It is ideally situated between Bowness and Windermere. The cooked breakfast is amazing. Thank you Leigh for a lovely relaxing stay.

My parents stayed here while visiting Windermere. They said it was a lovely place and would recommend it to anyone.

it is close to nature. the room is comfortable and the price is reasonable. it is probably the best room i've had in England. Leigh is a friendly and nice person.

Leigh, the host, is a very friendly lady who is immensely helpful in helping you figure out things to do, and how to get there. Everything I could have needed during my stay was provided. Also, the bed was very comfortable.

Stayed here Easter Weekend, excellent stay, lovely accommodation in a great location between Boweness on Windamere and Windamere. Great hostess very friendly and great service even over the extremely busy time. Even received a complimentary Easter Egg!! Great Touch! Would definately stay here again!

Really lovely owner, great room and facilities, nice breakfast (in bed!), fantastic location - only 10 mins walk to both Windermere and Bowness-on- Windermere. Windermere is a beautiful area.

Leigh the owner was very friendly and welcoming,the breakfast was lovely,the guest house spotless clean and in a very good location we were very happy with our stay.

We didn't have an ensuite bathroom and our room was a little small but this is would by no means put us off booking again.

tutto davvero positivo. il nostro bagno non era in camera, dovevamo scendere una rampa di scale, ma era comunque solo ad uso nostro e molto spazioso, pulito e confortevole!!

We zijn allebei 1m85 en dan moet je soms bukken op de trap. Maar dat is het enige negatieve en dat is een detail.

Leigh was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. The rooms were beautiful, with lovely finishing touches and even Easter eggs brought up with our breakfast in bed!

the shower in our room wasn't workign properly and was unfortunately just a trickle. Would have been nice to have known this before hand and as we would have picked a different room - not the end of the world and I'm sure it will be fixed.

It is a really clean and tidy hotel. Location is also good. Staff is really friendly.
