Stayed here Easter Weekend, excellent stay, lovely accommodation in a great location between Boweness on Windamere and Windamere. Great hostess very friendly and great service even over the extremely busy time. Even received a complimentary Easter Egg!! Great Touch! Would definately stay here again!

Really lovely owner, great room and facilities, nice breakfast (in bed!), fantastic location - only 10 mins walk to both Windermere and Bowness-on- Windermere. Windermere is a beautiful area.

Leigh the owner was very friendly and welcoming,the breakfast was lovely,the guest house spotless clean and in a very good location we were very happy with our stay. We didn't have an ensuite bathroom and our room was a little small but this is would by no means put us off booking again.

Rooms lovely, clean and spacious with en-suite. A fantastic breakfast in the morning where you can choose pretty much anything you fancy. We had hot porridge for starters but you could also have cereal, fruit, yoghurt etc and we had the full english which was lovely and very filling! There was also as much toast and tea as you wanted as well as fresh orange juice. Location was ideal as it was situated right between Windermere and Bowness so only a short walk either way which was great for getting to and from the station. Leigh made us very welcome and was happy to help with telling us where to go and bus routes etc. Also had two very cute King Charles - Nell and Molly! All in all a fantastic weekend and we would be more than happy to stay here again on our next visit to Windermere.

Everything was lovely and clean, service and breakfast excellent. Location between Bowness and Windermere was good as well, since it gave us options. Would definitely recommend for others as well! Shower had very little water pressure, but for a short stay (over the weekend) it wasn't really a problem, and since everything else was so spot on, I wouldn't let it stop me from going again, even if I was going to stay for longer period of time.

Leigh the guest house owner is a very helpful person who goes out of her way to make your holiday a wonderful experience! She handles the guesthouse single handed and does an excellent job, offering an excellent breakfast of your choice. Will surely stay at this cottage on any future visit to Winderemere. Excellent little b&b right inbetween Windermere and Bowness, 10 minute walk each way. Fantastic room, really comfortable, Leigh (the lady who runs it) was incredibly welcoming and helpful in terms of telling us the best places to go and she makes the best full English you've ever had. We will definitely be going back.

Ruhige Lage zwischen den beiden Orten Windermere und Bowness-on- Windermere. Nettes B&B-Gästehaus in dem die Betreiberin jedem Gast ein individuelles Frühstück zubereitet.

Brilliant place to stay, ideally located right between Windermere and Bowness. The B&B is run by the nicest person I've met. She goes out of her way to make the stay enjoyable and run as smooth as possible. Breakfast is really nice, with lots of options to eat, and all tasty!

Legh is a great hostess,thinks of every comfort and makes you feel very welcome. too many stairs,but this is general for the UK.Need to pack light.

Montfort Cottage was clean, comfortable with good location. Landlady "Leigh" cooked lovely breakfasts and offered customised ideas and tips as to what was on offer for activities in the area.

The hotel owner - Leigh was fantastic and very welcoming. The rooms were very nicely decorated and had everything you would need for a weekend break. It was in an ideal location and within easy walking distance of Windermere and Bowness villages. I would definitely recommend this hotel

Our en-suite is clean, well-equipped and nicely decorated. I like the teddy bear sitting on the bed welcoming us. I'm also impressed that hand-washing gel, rather than soap, and hand & body lotion are provided. The cottage is thoughtful and generous as such items may not be seen in some 4-star guesthouses. The lady keeper Leigh is very nice, friendly and helpful. The breakfast she prepared for us was great in terms of choice, quality and portion. Thanks Leigh. It'd be better if hot and cold water of the washing basin run out from the same tap rather than two separate ones during the winter days. But it's understandable for a cottage in the lake district.
