Lovely place in a great location and good breakfast too! Will stay again!
Milk wasnt replenished, didntask to be fair but chasing staff on holiday is a pain!!
Location. Room size. Very good en-suite. Warm once we turned the radiator up. Comfy bed. Free parking but a tight squeeze.
Single glazed and quite a few light bulbs not working in building, 3 in our room.
The fact that they changed our room to a one with no ensuite
Like the location as it situated right in town and 2min walk to the lake.
Free car park as advertised is for the lucky one. There are pay and display nearby which will cost you £15 for 3days.
guest house in prime location, breakfast good.
Decor and carpets worn, heating not on in room on arrival, no hot water until reported to staff, TV not working properly
the room was tiny. We had to leave at 11pm on the day of arrival as my daughter could not sleep due to the noise from the pub at the rear of the hotel (Music/Singing/Shouting). as they do not have staff on site overnight I was unable to complain or ask to change rooms. When I asked for a refund for the second night I was told that due to the terms of my booking they didn't have to give me any refund. Awful customer service
The guys who run the kitchen/breakfasts etc were very good
The person who ran the establishment , was rude argumentative and evasive when I tried to cancel our booking for a family health issue. Non cancelation policy is not in the customers best interest and spoiled our stay , for that reason we will never stay there again !!
Very good location, staff very friendly.Exceptionally clean room, with good facilities. Very good full English breakfast. Cannot fault.
The only thing we didn't like was the noise from the traffic outside, no double glazing, which would help. We would probably ask for a room at the back of the hotel if we stayed again.
Location was excellent the breakfast was really enjoyable plenty of choice and they would cater for your requests the staff were really pleasant and friendly and the room was clean and tidy the bed was comfortable
Parking information was poor, and only 4 spaces for the whole property first come first served and very very tight located right at the rear of the property, Not very good if you have a decent size car the alternatives were not given. The Small Room really is a tiny room but clean and tidy not really that good a value for money because of its size but if its just a one night stay the room would suffice
Fantastic location. This is always my first choice when I visit the area.
Location was good but no parking so if driving not great
The noise from hotel on corner, disco till 1.30 with beer garden which our room backed onto (room 1 at top of stairs), still noisey at 2.30am. Couldn't use wardrope as there was a smell from inside so lived out of our bags, ended up staying only for 1 night and going home but had paid for 2
Parking was a problem
Location and breakfast
Noise from main street at 3 in the morning - could do with double glazing
Large room, very comfortable and close to town centre and waterfront. Breakfast taken in café downstairs.
On main road and near Pub with late night music can be noise at times especially on warm nights when windows are open (no air con). Check-in managed by Café so feels more like hotel than B&B.
the location - in centre of Bowness on Windermere and close to lake, boat trips, restaurants, shops etc.
needs complete refurbishment & redecoration; room clean but otherwise not great; breakfasts poor; there are plenty of B&Bs - choose another one, not this one
Ideal position , clean. , food nice ,
The room we had was last vacancy and we had to walk a corridor to private bathroom , was very inconvenient , and had to keep going for water and rinse cups out in bathroom , through night was the worst
We particularly enjoyed the breakfast and its cafe seating. We appreciated its non stuffy experience. The bed was comfortable and sheets and towels clean. Shower was hot when required and the location of the guest house was excellent.
It was noisy from traffic and early morning revellers but we did'nt mind it too much. The carpet was clean but could be replaced as it has a few stains. Neither was really an issue but this is a review.
everything was great
on our departure there was no one about to give our key to or to say thankyou
Location was good and breakfast
Location was excellent, 2 minute walk to the lake. Room was clean and breakfast was good.
Being located next to a pub, music, shouting and glass bottles being binned in the early hours of the morning kept me awake. Would benefit from double glazed windows.
the location is very centralized and close to all -no car needed to get around; great breakfast, host are wonderful and our room was spacious, clean and the beds were awesome.
Nothing except the staff offered another room and offered to help carry luggage upstairs.
Everything! The location is hard to access especially for disabled or mobility disadvantaged or those with a heart condition. Located on the noisy street front & next door to a noisy pub with loud noise til late- no double glazing preventing the window to be open in warm weather, cafe underneath with cooking odours eminating to the rooms above, several steep stairs at the rear of the building are the only access to limited parking (4 very small spaces tight against the stone wall- no security and only room to open one car door at a time) rickety wooden rails on the external stairs with splinters, steep stairs to the rooms, very small bathroom, shabby furniture, no doubt very old and worn, but above all do not book a room there at all. When we asked for a refund it was refused. I emailed the manager and again she refused a refund to us, Australian seniors with health and mobility difficulties! We recommend staying at Glencree Guest House further up the road in a nicer area, noise and stair-free at the same cost. We found the website outrageously misleading!
- Accessibility to the lakes - Right at the center of the town and walkable distance from the train station. - Good breakfast. The staff are very polite and extremely helpful. They even allowed us to leave our bags after checkout and dint charge me a penny for the same. They even gave us a complimentary cake for breakfast. Would definitely recommend for an overnight stay.
- The heaters dint work in the room and was very cold at night. - Our room was on the top floor and as a result it felt a lot colder. Even though I requested this to be fixed, the heaters dint work the second night as well.
The breakfast was nice
There was no staff around when we arrived to greet us or show us round. Didn't like being in front room with all the noise
