Easy to locate. Ample on-site free parking. Very friendly staff. Excellent eating/drinking area. Food very good with generous helpings. Drinks at pub prices as against extortionate hotel prices. Freeview tv in rooms and lounge/restaurant. Free wi-fi. Cheap and cheerful hotel, ideal for contractors. Does have plenty of conference, party facilities. You get what you pay for unfortunately and one big complaint was that the double glazing in our room had seen better days. The wind howled through the gaps and the glass seals were so bad that you could hardly see out of the windows. The other complaint was the shower. The pressure and amount of hot water was almost none existant This one factor is enough to prevent me from staying there again as I do like my shower first thing. Although not the hotels fault I think the contractors could at least not sit in the bar area in their working clothes.

We did not like the service offered and the quality of the rooms. We arrived in time to check in and was told my room was not yet ready and We were not given a time scale as to when it would be ready. When we finally got into the room, the bin in the bathroom was not emptied and one of the lights above the bed rest had a naked bulb which wasn't working. The shower mat was not clean, it had black marks over it.

Close to busstop and Tesco Express. Easy to get to Old Trafford. Clean. Low budget. Bed was hard as rocks. The hotel was waren down - holls in the carpet. Hot as a sauna - no aircondition. The staff was not serviceminded.

Attended a function at the hotel and found it more convenient to stay onsite. Hotel is tired and in desperate need of a refurbishment. Beds were very noisy - think the springs had gone in them! The room was very reasonably priced so on the basis of "you get what you pay for" - I was happy enough.

The lady on reception was very helpful and professional, however on going to my room, I found it had not been cleaned and there were dirty mugs in the room. I went to reception and it was sorted out very quickly and efficiently. The Manager came to see me and offered me a free meal whilst he cleaned the room. I declined and was offered an alternative room. This room was clean but the bed was a bit uncomfy. I was pleased with the way the problem was rectified quickly and efficiently. It will not deter me from staying there again.

The location is within easy reach of the Trafford shopping centre The hotel décor was very tired to say the least. Cupboards in the room were falling apart. The bar was closed early due to lack of use by customers. Cobwebs in the room and dirty surfaces. Bed was clean though.

The only thing that was good about this hotel was the lady serving breakfast who was very nice and friendly and helpful The welcome was very cold. The room was filthy with cobwebs on some lights, and some did not work. Window was broken and could not be opened. Shower was dilapidated and the shower nozzle holder was broken and shabby. All the hotel is in dire need of refurbishing and we would never go back. After going here we stayed in a b and b in Huddersfield that was cheaper, nicer, cleaner and staff were lovely.

The staff were friendly and out going. Outdated, taty, shower in our room was from the 60's carpets all worn. Breakfast was dried up. Compared to a travel lodge or premier inn. Npt worth the money.

The breakfast was half decent. * Stained carpet, stained curtains, mould in the shower, poor level of decoration, three quarter bed which was against the wall, no mattress cover on the bed, steps inside the room, door in bathroom had to forced past the sink in order for it to be closed, flat roof outside our window covered in cigarette butts, worn and torn carpets on the narrow stairs leading up to our room, less than effusive welcome.

It did what we wanted it to a comfortable nights stay at a reasonable price.Ok for short stays or business trips. Despite the rooms being none smoking,on arrival our room smelt of cigarette smoke and there were "dimps"on the outside window ledge plus canopy below.some airfreshener would have been a good idea.

The smell if the rooms was the first thing that put us off!it was that bad I was nearly sick!I had to open the windows and still when I came back to the hotel several hours later it was still unpleasant!the beds are very hard that you can feel the springs in your back!the kettle facility in the bedroom did not work!the lift in the hotel just didn't look sAfe!the whole hotel needed a massive refurb inside and also their was holes in the stairs!from the outside it looks decent but inside it's hell house!would not recommend at all not even for a 1 night cheap stay!we are the type of couple who like to pay more for luxury bit this time we was short on money so that's why we stayed here!do not stay here!Even the car park exit was bad going down a steep dip that damaged the bumper on car

I stay at the Monton House Hotel because it's central to where I want to be to visit the locality, friends and family. The staff I encounter always seem friendly and the room rate is reasonable. The accommodation is in need of an up-date and re-decoration.

The breakfast The rooms were not clean, there was mould in the shower. The walls were dirty and every thing was very well worn. There was rubbish in the desk drawer. The television didn't work properly, the light above the mirror in the bathroom was broken and the soap dish was hanging off the wall. Both nights we stayed we were disturbed by rowdy guests and got very little sleep as a result.

Only the location as is was close to my family. My principal area of complaint was the value for money and the rate I was charged which was for a family room £130 per night for a 2 night stay. The rooms and hotel itself are extremely tied and requiring refurbishment. No restaurant or bar was open in the evening which considering we were staying the bank holiday is quite unbelievable. The Hotel itself quotes outside the entrance rooms from £ 20 and maximum rate of £97 was quoted at reception. I queried this to the receptionist and he said the hotel can charge what they like when Man Utd were playing at home supply and demand !! Unless you really need to stay in this area avoid this hotel.

Good location - staff friendly The hotel is a bit tired and could do with some updating. It was also very busy with a wedding reception and birthday party which was loud until mid-night.

It is of great value if you had a car and put here as the base to go. They have free Wi-Fi, too. We ware annoyed by the noisy dance music sounds came from the downstair restaurant until 11 o'clock despite closing the window of our room at 1st floor.
