“I am always a little dubious about staying at a hotel which is part of a large chain, however this hotel did not feel like that at all.”

Set in the heart of the picturesque village of Aspley Guise, this elegant Georgian mansion is only one mile from Junction 13 of the M1 and 5 minutes from Woburn Abbey & Parks. Restored to its former glory, every effort has been made to create a peaceful atmosphere; as you listen to the sound of the waterfall in the garden, it is hard to imagine you are only 8 miles from the bustling center of Milton Keynes. Being within easy reach of the main freeways, train connections and airports, Moore Place is in the perfect location for business or leisure. Hotel Rooms: 62, Hotel Chain: Best Western. Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 17:37 from United Kingdom.

The hotel is located in a quiet and unspoilt village which has quaint appeal. The hotel itself is interesting enjoying a modern wing which subtly extends from a Georgian main building. Rooms are well decorated and equipped with appealing touches like a small carafe of brandy provided. Also sensibly selected bathroom accessories - just right size in squeeze tubes - not bottles. Very comfortable stay.

Our double room was tiny, barely enough room to move about! Also we had no soap or shower gel, which turned out to be immaterial because there wasn't any hot water either. When I mentioned this to the receptionist she apologised and took 15% off the room cost, which seemed very fair.

Location for Milton Keynes was good without being in the city. Food was good, rooms were clean, staff were friendly. Decor in some areas was tired with ripped wallpaper. Room 7 was hot even with window wide open and radiator off - there must be heating pipes running under the floor. Not very eco friendly as light bulbs were still old incandescent type

As is often the case at Best Western, the staff are very helpfull and friendly. The free WIFI is a very big selling point for me and had good coverage in the hotel with no hassle like getting codes from the reception (however, how secure is the system if there are no codes?). The meal in the restaurant was excellent, and the breakfast was vey good as well. From a privacy point of view the room did not have any net curtains, and the room was not very well sound proofed, noise of guests walking through the corridoor just outside the room was quite noticeable. But other than that the room was comfortable and I slept well.

I am always a little dubious about staying at a hotel which is part of a large chain, however this hotel did not feel like that at all. The staff were very accommodating, the room I stayed in was absolutely spotless and very quiet. There was a lovely tranquil patio area with water feature where we could enjoy a drink before our dinner. The evening menu was excellent, and the taste was fantastic - not what you would expect from a hotel. I would definately stay here again if the need arose.

Very attractive setting. Service in the restaurant for breakfast was very poor. It was difficult to find a table which had been cleaned properly after previous occupants. We were asked if we wanted toast before we had had time to see what else was available for breakfast. Waitresses appeared to be very inexperienced.

The Buffet Breakfast was good.....eggs were good, croissants good. Fruit was good. Bathroom recently redecorated. Pond landscaping done well. Happy ducks with an appealing quacking sound. Staff friendly Lighting in room was a bit dull. Fruit at Breakfast ran out. Staff were friendly - but not always helpful! (To 'Is there any more fruit?'...'there maybe, I'm not sure' was the wrong answer)

Spacious room, recently refurbished to a high standard, immaculately clean and fresh. Staff were very helpful. Food was a very high standard. Some basics need improvement: pillows were foam, thin, and hard. Ended up with a stiff neck in the morning, which wasn't eased by a shower that never was quite hot enough (both mornings at 6.30).

Restaurant, waiting staff were excellent - quality of the food could not be faulted. Nice, quiet location - lots of natural light giving a feeling of being in the countryside, which, indeed we were.

Great location and setting I was frustrated to have booked a manor room at an additional price (described as being in main house) only to find that we had a room in main hotel among the standard rooms. It was explained that the room was of an equivalent standard but the price was the same and it was pretty ordinary. The hotel was very quite and I suspect the manor rooms were not in use, but it was misleading and there was no apology.

Friendly helpful staff member on reception on the day we checked out (Friday 30) Hotel only provided one towel for two people, shower was lukewarm at best. In restaurant, door through to kitchen was left ajar and my partner had a lovely view from our table of the serving and catering staff eating cold bacon whilst continuing to serve and prepare breakfast, not to mentioned the hacking coughing alos coming from the kitchen. Cooked breakfast was of poor quality, especially for £12.50. Hotel was isolated and taxi service to and from was poor - hotels booked us taxis thought their recommended company and we waited over half an hour for it to arrive before booking our own with another firm.

It was a beautiful hotel. Fantastic views and grounds. Both contemporary and rustic design that complemented eachother. The rooms well ours was huge. Bed very comfortable to sleep in. We had a room with balcony over looking the giant pond and waterfall feature was very nice. Confirmation letter stated rooms were bed and breakfast when in fact there not and you had to pay £12 per person for a very small breakfast, not what you wanted to argue about on your honeymoon. Food and drink very expensive.

The bed was really uncomfortable and the tv was positioned a long way from the bed. There was no Internet iny room - room 80. I was travelling on my own and my room was half way up the carpark and I felt a little unsafe

great building, nice environment, good location. Lovely historical building, lovely period bathroom. Not corporate, everything the same, hotel food poor, room service appalling - orders slow or forgotten. Idealy would have been nice to have a shower in the en-suite but the bath was huge and great!
