the price is very expensive was filthy dirty rude staff bathroom was tiny could not have a proper shower
Only how close it was to the wedding we were attending!
Staff were rude and unhelpful! The beds hadn't been changed and there was dirty underwear in the room! I think it is used as a hostel as well but this was not made obvious to us when we booked!! Over priced for what we got!!
We had one of the new chalets as opposed to the main building. Tea,coffee AND biscuits. Comfy and clean beds. Right next to Sevenoaks train station.
Took quite a long time to check in - but we arrived when lots of others did.
My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel, it was a last minute decision and to be honest the only hotel we would find with availability due to the bank hotel local events happening. I wish we hadn’t bothered. It is very overpriced, very poor decoration and dated. We had the choice of two rooms neither of which I would have chosen in I hadn’t already paid by the internet! The man at reception was rather grumpy and we waited a long time to be greeted. The bedroom was cold and very dated and the bed uncomfortable with paper thin walls meaning you could here next doors conversations. The bathroom was disgusting and had mould around the tiles, cobwebs and as for the bath panel it was literally disintegrating. The breakfast was atrocious, we were greeted by the most rude woman who had no manners at all most impolite and never once smiled she literally shouted at other guests. We had to wait ages for our breakfast, which was virtually inedible. The only other guests in the breakfast dining room were a lovely couple who ordered their food before us and received it a good 10 minutes after we had finished as the rude woman forgot to process their order. It wasn’t like they were busy just four people in the restaurant but service was awful the worst I have ever seen. I would warn people about this hotel which still displays a very out of date 3 star award, there is no way this is one star quality in my opinion. I would never return.
Perfect location for commute to London.
Inconsistent hospitality. Standard of cleanliness very low e.g used soap in shower recess. Charged for parking while spaces are hired out to London commuters. Fire exit behind locked door (Room 226). Fire escape in state of disrepair.
The Moorings was a basic guest house but OK for 1 or 2 nights Room facilities basic but enough for what we wanted at short notice. Staff friendly and polite Location great
Car park difficult to manouver in. Seemed to be used extensively by contract workers whom hung around outside the entrance which could be a bit intimidating for some guests
Booked this last minute for myself and my pregnant wife as a base from which to visit family in the area. Was shocked at the dirty, small rooms which were outdated, dusty and in need to a hoover and a good clean! After asking to be moved to a cleaner room than the one we were given off the garden, we begrudgingly spent one night in a just passable, musty room upstairs. Breakfast (extra £5 each!) was poor. On the second night we returned to the room and found water leaking through the celing onto the bed!! First response from the staff was to "move the bed out of the way". Needless to say we left and will not be returning.
Location was good, easy to find, rooms good size,c omf'ortable beds, quite good facilities and very quiet at night because we were located in an annexed at the rear of the hotel, breakfast was OK.
There was/a leaking radiator in the bathroom, the end of a curtain rail came off the wall, the bathroom fan was noisy and went on a long time, you had to pay extra for breakfast and car parking and wi-fi connection.
Attitude of staff. Having to pay extra for basics such as parking, WiFi, and breakfast. Drab decor. Narrow, steep stairs, in poor condition, up to bedroom. Room too hot. Shower/WC compartment far too small. revolting 'cooked' breakfast, congealed scrambled egg, tinned tomatoes, fat soaked fried bread, greasy mushrooms. I cannot remember staying at a worse hotel. It was a relief to leave. Am I entitled to a refund?
Great location, next to Sevenoaks station. Not too expensiveq
Room was very stuffy and smelled, like it hadn't been properly aired and cleaned since smoking in rooms was allowed!
Arrived at 13.20 only to be told if I wanted to go to my room a £10 early checkin charge applied as checkin was from 14.00. I wanted early access so I could watch sport on the TV in the room, unfortunately the TV didn't work right up until I left the following morning. The manager/owner just said it was outside of his control that the tv didn't work!
dangerous hole in bathroom floor
Everything. From the bathroom we found below the mold to the stains on the headboard. The rude staff. The price. Everything about this hotel was shockingly bad. I have contacted my gp to arrange a tetanus jab after staying here. DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT A HOTEL NOT A HOSTEL.
Location, parking lot, friendly and helpful Filipino lady receptionist
Wooden floor cracks when visitors staying at upper floor walk - which woke me up in the morning. Bath shower difficult to manage cold/hot mixture.
Location and comfortable bed
Iffy shower, Soviet-era style surliness of catering staff. Not sure if they really understood English.
bedding was clean
where to start!!! en suite shower room was positively disgusting. Smell of damp overpowering. Mildew on tiles and shower curtain was of epic proportions. picture of building on the website is not where the room are, they are in the back garden and are like a downbeat american motel. i cant believe these rooms would pass an inspection by the authorities. There was a slug climbing up the bath panel. the mildew must be a health hazard. we only stayed as we had no choice, everyhting nearby was full. Most disgusting hotel ever, and its only 100 yards form a Bentley garage so nice area. A new showere curtain is only £1, why not put one in and at least clean the inch thick mildew off the tiles. Shockingly bad, I want my money back.
To our astonishment the bed-clothes were clean.
We arrived at about 10:15 p.m. We have booked and payed for a room beforehand in the main building. Our documents were examined very carefully as if it was pasport control. At last we were given a room "in the garden". The room was dirty cold and smelled mouldy. We protested but receptionist told us that we arrived too late (though we notified later time of arrival) and our room was let. This man was unfreandly. When we told that it was unbearable cold he answed that in Moscow we arrived from it was much colder. But a heater was given. There was a spider in the bath towel I have never seen such a big one before - 1 inch! Fortunately we were not afraid of spiders. The shower was bad.On the whole we have never stayed in such a bad room. We were very glad to leave this house.
Location close to station
Sorry to say that this hotel needs a complete revamp. It appears to have lacked any care in recent years. Curtains were torn, carpets not properly fitted, fittings broken, a lack of maintenance. With this location and the original hotel building (not the prefab extension at the back) there is a lot of potential.
nothing it was so bad ,dirty bathroom reception staff was so rude
bathroom was filthy room smelt bad carpets were filthy as we went up the stairs there were mattresses stacked up against the wall which in my opinion is a safety issue the car park was full from cars that were parked from the office staff from across the way.when i asked about the car parking the staff was so rude telling me i should not just turn up and expect to just get a space,on the web site it did say there was parkingin the end i was so disgusted i did not stay . i feel i was treated with disrespect and the place was not worthy of the price. i will be taking this further and i wish to get my money back.
only thing to like was clean laundry !!!
bathroom was a disgrace, have been in better run down public toilets, covered the headboards with the towels before getting into bed as they looked absolutely filthy, really think this place should be checked over
TV and en-suite facilities were excellent and very close to station so location was great.
Could hear snoring from next door room and television from another room during the night, as walls are very thin.
We were on motorbikes and the manager was more than happy to look after our leathers, luggage etc before and after we had the room so that we could go out & about. Hotel was very easy to find, great location, very close to town centre and train station. Clean towels and sheets.
Rooms a little shabby and could do with a little TLC and shower was a bit rubbish! But overall, good value for money and would definitely stay there again.
Definitely not worth the money. Would not recommend this hotel.
