“The staff were friendly The location was close to our friends”

Under friendly new management since October 2009, The Moorings has rooms and a bar. It's a minute's walk from Sevenoaks Train Station, where trains travel to central London in 35 minutes. The Moorings Hotel is run by managers Sarah and Rose, who aim to provide a friendly, personal service. All rooms have private bathrooms and telephones, TV and tea/coffee. The Moorings is a short walk from the center of Sevenoaks and has a large parking lot. Sevenoaks is surrounded by pretty countryside. You can visit Knole House and its large deer park. Or, Brands Hatch Race Circuit is about 9 miles away. Hotel Rooms: 28 Most recent booking for this hotel was yesterday at 17:49 from United Kingdom.

The room was acceptable. The room was mediocre considering the price. They charge extra for breakfast and Wi-Fi, which is unreasonable considering the base price. The shower was very small. The drapes on the windows were thin and allowed the sunlight in.

I think the family who run the hotel are probably quite nice. The location from Sevenoaks train station was very convenient. That would be about all the positive things I could say about the hotel itself. The police were present when we were checking in, because of vandalism. That wasn't the best start. The rooms out back feel like a cheap motel, and you walk past the laundry facilities to get to them. Feels like a very cheap set-up. The room smelled, and was very outdated. Felt dirty inside. The plugs for the tv consisted of the original plug, then extentions hanging from the unit on the wall - all felt very unsafe. We did not stay the night, we left.

We were worried after reading old reviews but we all were pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean and tidy, bathroom as well. Breakfast was just ok but eatable. We enjoyed our stay. It was a bit chilly in the room in the morning (central heating was switched off during night) and no hot water in morning. No free internet.

Not a lot to be honest. It was over-priced given the standard, poor quality and cheap finish virtually everywhere plus £3 for parking. The receptionist suggested that the car park is subcontracted-out and that's why they charge it. Wont be staying there again or recommending it.

The place stank of curry late into the evening. Hotel old and greatly in need of refurbishing, didn't look very clean and there was an unwashed smell aboutthe place.

It is very close to mainline rail station and was good value for money. The staff were very curteous and couldn't do enough. Excellent Breakfast too. All cooked to order a good thing. Bathroom is somewhat cramped

Convenient location close to Sevenoaks station (easy access to London). Clean room. Comfortable bed. Reasonable price. Cracked window in breakfast area & in bedroom. Table cloths on some tables not clean. Hotel starting to show age / time lapsed since last decorated.

The accomodation was adequate but when I requested a non slip bath mat the staff did not understand what I wanted. There was a small tv in the room but it was unwatchable because of the very poor reception. I would not class the hotel as 3 star and there was no hotel bar

Helpful staff, especially as the snow came down heavily. My room could do with a lick of paint and some pictures on the wall.

I was attending a wedding at West Heath and I literally dropped my bag off, quickly changed and went straight out, got back late, slept and then left in the morning. The guy at the front desk was very helpful though as he kindly googled a map to help me locate the wedding venue. I thought 10.30 to check out was too early!

The best freshly cooked full English Breakfast throughout our 2 week stay in England / Compliments to the chef. The water pressure was not sufficient for a satisfying shower.

The room I had at the back was quiet Arriving to find a banner offering a room such as mine for £10 less per night. They seem to have their offers in various places in a knot and I ended up feeling taken for a ride. Very basic room for £45pn - no consideration beyond the basic and I think they need an aesthetic touch over the whole place which would make a vast difference. Also repairing the floor tiles in the bathroom would be good as would some spray over the tiles. I forgot my phone at my show one night and there was no way to tell the time other than when one of the four basic terrestrial tv channels told me (no remote control to help).

Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Ideal location as close to railway station. The hotel is an ideal base for a weekend break in Sevenoaks. This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Moorings and we have booked to stay there again next month when we are attending another gig at the brilliant Stag Theatre. We also enjoyed walking through the lovely Knole (Deer) Park to surrounding villages.

The staff were very freindly and helpful. The floor was very dusty, the valence on the beds was dirty at the bottom edges. The bathroom cabinet below the sink was very dirty and the shower tiles (grouting) could do with a good clean.

We had the end unit in the annex in the back garden, which was very quiet. The room and the en suite bathroom were very clean, the bedding was immaculate. The breakfasts were basic but the staff were accommodating with special requests. Overall good value for the budget. 1. The charge to use the internet is now £5.00 a day which is unreasonable when I could buy 48 hours access in London for £2.00 and the B&B/hotels we stayed in Sweden had a computer set up in a public space which I could use for free at any time. 2. There are very few pubs/cafes/restaurants nearby, just a few takeaways so we had to plan our day carefully to include an early supper before returning to the hotel or drive back and pay £3.00 for parking, even if you are there only an hour. The walk into town is vertical and difficult for someone not fully fit. Any recommendation to others would have to include this information.

Nothing. It wasn't worth the money we paid. The room had no amenities, it wasn't cleaned properly and we didn't feel safe. We peered into the kitchen and it was enough to frighten us from eating the breakfast that we had paid for.

Great location, close to the station. Reasonable price for the area. Breakfast was good quality. Staff very friendly and always around This hotel was obviously quite run down before the new owners took over so needs some work. Mould in the shower. Breakfast bit cold.
