Pretty much everything, where to start: unfriendly staff, awful food, tatty decor...generally as downmarket an experience as it possibly could be

The location and that's it. The reception staff were extremely rude, the bathroom was very grubby. We arrived after 2:15pm and there was someone still cleaning the room.

The Bed and the Duvet nice and fresh smelling. Well.. we were in the outside bit of the hotel an outhouse of 11 rooms or so and at 3am we were woken by a trolyy being pushed passed our room..It sounded like someone on rollerskates. The room had a damp feeling and the hot water ran out when we wanted to run 2 baths as the shower head was not easy to adjust to right temperature.. We ordered breakfast when we arrived looking forward to a full english breakfast. In the morning we went to have breakfast and chose our items and I ordered fried tomatoes with my bacon, sausage and scrambled egg.. IT arrived and there was no fried tomato it was a tinned plum tomato straight from the tin. we mentioned this and they took my p[late away and it came back and i was presented with a tomato in a bowl that had been microwave at this point we said the plate should have been taken away and replated. Well my 2nd one arrived and yes you guessed it cold plum tinned tomatoe... GAve up in the end.....so not impressed with it....Not one of your good ones booking.com..Used you before and no probs......was a bit like Fawlty towers. No plugs sockets accessible to dry hair.. remote control had lost all the numbers etc on it .

Nothing... The room and hotel was dirty, run down and very basic. I found stains on the bedsheets, muck on the windows, blood or something on the curtains. The towels were very small and certainly cheap. The basin was so small I couldn't pour water into the kettle - which had all kinds of life in there!!! I would recommend that you try and find somewhere else, no matter how low the price you should at least expect it clean!!! A dump and a rip off

Location...in my opinion was the only positive point... Service...price...and the fact that I had cancelled 1 room and the manager of the Hotel reaffirmed several times that he would cancel one room but nothing happened... Can you please confirm that at least one room was cancelled?? We suppose to stay with 5 people but due to the problem in the Airport of Edinburgh (Vulcan Ash) they could not arrive at this date. Please advise if possible.

Helpful staff, especially as the snow came down heavily. My room could do with a lick of paint and some pictures on the wall.

I was attending a wedding at West Heath and I literally dropped my bag off, quickly changed and went straight out, got back late, slept and then left in the morning. The guy at the front desk was very helpful though as he kindly googled a map to help me locate the wedding venue. I thought 10.30 to check out was too early!

The hotel is well located for the station and town centre. Sevenoaks has very little choice, I would say this is more like a Guest House rather than a hotel. Rooms are a little shabby and bathrooms worse (not yet had a room with a decent shower). Stay here through lack of choice rather than out of choice.

The staff were friend;y and helpful. Although we did not want a full English breakfast the people who were eating a full breafast seemed very happy with it.We were pleased to have a choice of muesli.

Damp and in need of renovation. Room was down an alley out the back of the hotel, with a very flimsy door - not safe for a lone woman.

It was a good location for my requirements and after a night of drinking in London I did not care about luxuries. In fact I ended up arriving in my room at 4.45am and left at 8am. If I needed a hotel for a hotel for any other reason I would not stay here. It really is the most basic hotel you will ever stay in. Can even burn your knees on the radiator when on the toilet it is that cramped. The room reeked of chlorine and smelled worse than a swimming pool. To be honest it was only marginally a better proposition than sleeping in my car.

The best freshly cooked full English Breakfast throughout our 2 week stay in England / Compliments to the chef. The water pressure was not sufficient for a satisfying shower.

Contrary to some of the reviews checking in was fine and the lady was very hospitable. This is the second time I have stayed here once in the main hotel and this time in the separate motel style chalets which are more than adequate and would stay there again when coming to sevenoaks.

The room I had at the back was quiet Arriving to find a banner offering a room such as mine for £10 less per night. They seem to have their offers in various places in a knot and I ended up feeling taken for a ride. Very basic room for £45pn - no consideration beyond the basic and I think they need an aesthetic touch over the whole place which would make a vast difference. Also repairing the floor tiles in the bathroom would be good as would some spray over the tiles. I forgot my phone at my show one night and there was no way to tell the time other than when one of the four basic terrestrial tv channels told me (no remote control to help).

Nothing. Very disappointing. That's how bad this place is. A very disappointing experience.I Would not recommend this hotel to other travellers. Upon my arrival I was escorted out to the rear garden area of the hotel and shown my room...a wooden chalet style unit, with three beds. Inside things got even worse. The decor was tired, with brown grubby carpets, green walls and a tv that didn't work. The bathroom was also lacking in that it simply required cleaning. The floor, toilet, tiles....all required cleaning, if not replacing. Oh yes and the shower....the water trickled out after what seemed like an eternity in getting the correct temperature after countless adjustments. Didn't see the staff again until the morning. There was a gentleman (staff) wandering around the dining room at breakfast. If the hotel ever did a sideline in toiletries, then this man should invest in some deodorant! Didn't like the look of the (extra £5) 'All English breakfast' so I opted for the safe cereal and toast option. God knows what the kitchen / preparation area was like. All in all the whole experience cost me £80 for the one night. And thank god it was, one night. Money 'not' well spent. Stay clear of Room 8.

Friendly welcome and helpful staff. Ideal location as close to railway station. The hotel is an ideal base for a weekend break in Sevenoaks. This was the 2nd time we have stayed at the Moorings and we have booked to stay there again next month when we are attending another gig at the brilliant Stag Theatre. We also enjoyed walking through the lovely Knole (Deer) Park to surrounding villages.

The staff were very freindly and helpful. The floor was very dusty, the valence on the beds was dirty at the bottom edges. The bathroom cabinet below the sink was very dirty and the shower tiles (grouting) could do with a good clean.

Location Service was appalling, rooms were not particularly clean, breakfast was ok, but they didn't get the orders right as they did not listen to what was asked for, tv didn't work, the top part of the hot tap came off in my hand as I ran the water for the shower as it was broken, the plastic cup in the bathroom was absolutely filthy. The grouting over and around the bath was black and could easily have been cleaned with modern products. I was asked to pay the full price as I checked in, even though the documentation I had printed off said that it would be taken from my card 2 days prior to arrival. They said it had not been taken, so I hope that I have not paid twice. Would never stay in this hotel again and would never recommend it to anyone.
