Food, Staff, Location
Some areas of the hotel seemed a bit dated, but i understand they are working on it
Me and my partner went for a weekend break its was fantastic, the staff couldnt do enough for you a jacuzzi in the room was a bonus food was brilliant, we will be going again!!!
Couldnt find a fault with anything.
Great hotel with friendly staff and the food was lovely.
The location was fantastic. The room was clean and comfortable, and the breakfast and evening meal was good.
the room was very comfortable and good value for money. the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Loved our room, food, bar and view
What really made our stay was the warmth and genuine friendliness of all the staff - and that on top of the wonderful location at the edge of Dartmoor, and lovely rooms at a very good price.
VERY CONVENIENT TO IVYBRIDGE
SHOWER SMALL YOU GET WATER EVERYWHERE. ORDERED STEAK WAS NOT IMPRESSED ??? BREAKFAST NOT WORTH THE MONEY BRING YOUR OWN...
Don't judge an hotel by its exterior! The interior of the hotel was very good. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Delicious food. Views a plenty. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
We loved this hotel. Our room was clean and comfortable with a fantastic view. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings and the food was delicious with a good range of vegetarian options, thank you! The staff were friendly and helpful. We will definitely recommend this hotel and stay again if in the area
Location, staff, showergel
The only thing that wasn't great was the variety of the continental breakfast. Some rolls or bread would have been nice.
Lovely staff. Fab breakfasts, lovely toiletries, bought the shower gel,for myself.
We were in room 15 and I found the light in the mornings intrusive due to no curtains on the windows. I know we had shutters but they did not stop the sun coming in. I am a light sleeper,so may not affect, others as much. My only complaint.
Lovely room with a view, food was good Very popular hotel for outsiders to eat.
Entrance to car park when coming out
Room Need some cheering up,furniture was scratched , Breakfast was very basic not worth the money !
the views are excellent & very good area for sightseeing....staff polite ..dining areas attractive
leak in the ceiling which dripped...room very noisy..& bed very uncomfortable seemed to slope to one side
cooked breakfast very poor quality
Very friendly staff
Like the beautiful views and very helpful staff, and a proper breakfast all fresh and hot will be back
Value for money, Excellent staff, Great location, Dog friendly
Friendly warm welcome from the owner on arrival. All the staff were happy & polite. Super view to the front of Plymouth sound in the distance. We ate in the restaurant and had an excellent meal. Great value too.
Breakfast wasn't as good as in the past. Rather over cooked scrambled egg, bacon and sausage. Perhaps more selection of fruit - grapefruit or prunes too.
Having stayed there before, we enjoyed the food and room on both occasions. It has provided an ideal base for Dartmoor and Plymouth.
The room this time was situated next to the road and the window didn't close, so traffic noise was a problem early and late. On one occasion, there was no hot water.
View facilities and Food
There is a blind corner on the right when you come out of the hotel. The hotel could do with a viewing mirror on the opposite side of the road from entrance so you can see cars etc coming round the blind corner.
The hotel was conveniently located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The room had a balcony with extensive views to the sea in the distance and was modern, comfortable and well equipped. The food was of good quality and well prepared and cooked and the service friendly and fast. The hotel was very dog friendly and even provided owners with a little doggy welcome pack.
Nothing, but it should be noted that there is no lift to upper floors.
We had a gorgeous view in our large room. Clean and mordernish. But disjointed. Allow dogs which is great as on Dartmoor. Could probably charge more.
It was a bit hard to find but it was worth it for the very large room and excellent views. My parents had a very comfortable night's sleep. Staff were the best and made our visit very enjoyable. Will stay again if I ever go down to Devon again. Thanks again!
