Wonderful place to stay and attentive staff, find it impossible to fault.
Dinner and Service & bed.
Fabulous views Friendly staff
No Lift Too many dogs Dog allowed in dining room
Needed a nice hotel for a late valentine getaway but didn't want to deprive my dog a walk on the moors. Everything was perfect room ,restaurant, bar, breakfast and the location. Happy wife = happy life. Oh and the dog was happy too and thanks the hotel for his doggy welcome pack.
Nothing I can think of. Didn't like the shower head.
A wonderful hotel which is pet friendly and in a wonderful location. Staff are extremely friendly and you are put at ease from the minute you enter the hotel. Nothing is too much trouble.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, excellent location for access to Moor and river walks.
Fabulous location, helpful and friendly staff, good food, right price. Firmly on my list of preferred places to stay when visiting this area.
Good parking great staff great room great food... What more do you need?
The most comfortable bed ever, delicious food and charming staff. We always bring our dogs and we all have a wonderful time.
Rooms very good, clean and well appointed with nice bathrooms. Food very good.
Disappointed upon arrival as outside looked a bit tired and in need of some attention.Could have done with a lift as rooms on top floor and had to make several trips to the car.
Location Friendly Staff Great dog walks right from hotel Good breakfast Nice, dog friendly room
Hotel staff really are very friendly and helpful and it is genuinely pet friendly too. Dogs are liked and welcomed, not just tolerated. Cooked breakfast amongst the best enjoyed in any hotel.
Could be a tad more sound proof
Very friendly staff, dogs were welcome in the bar, very helpful.
This is a lovely hotel in a lovely location. Nice clean rooms of a good size, nice bathroom. Good atmosphere, nice bar (try the Dartmoor Jail Ale) and a restaurant with an excellent card for fair prices.
The weather - but I was compensated for that.
Not staying longer
Location, view, attentiveness of staff. Breakfast well worth the £8 - and our 13-year-old was given a £3 discount we had not expected. Would have loved to experience the steak restaurant in the evening, but it is popular and we had not booked a table. There are several hostelries within 15 minutes drive.
Beds are a very personal thing. The Moorland Hotel, in common with most hotels, had a fairly firm double bed in our room. The twin room beds were softer. I know many people claim to prefer a firm bed, and I can't fault the hotel for providing what a lot of customers would think OK, but we are not of that persuasion, and a lovely soft bed would have made the hotel (for us) perfect in every respect.
Stunning views and very friendly staff. Comfortable bed and the room was top notch.
Had to wait at reception for longer then necessary as the staff member was in the kitchen and did not here the bell.
Friendly and hospitable staff. Good bar with a range of real ales. Evening meal very good, steak cooked to perfection and excellent vegetarian options. Breakfast was good, great value for £8! We had the Wotter room, if you get chance, book this; it is massive and comes with a Jacuzzi bath. Location convenient for Plymouth or touring the moors. Take care with Sat. Nav. directions, follow B roads!
Good Steak in the 'Steakhoue' restaurant. But mainly the attitude towards family pet. As long as the dog is well behaved and tidy in the room then this is a great hotel for them with excellent location on the edge of Dartmoor and near some beautiful riverside walks.
Nothing. all a good standard as expected. This is not a 'Posh' or pretentious hotel.
With University Freshers week in full flow, somewhere out of the centre of town was must - great location and views.
Food was yummy, staff really nice
The room TV was very small
Breakfast Room layout
It's a bit shabby Very hard mattress
We enjoyed great food in nice surroundings with a drink on the terrace beforehand. I loved the stylish but practical bathroom, the beds were really comfortable. There are lovely walks directly accessible from the hotel. Dogs are welcome, but hardly noticeable (we did not bring one). The hotel is located in beautiful countryside!
Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. Good location for peace and quiet
No fault of The Moorland, thunderstorm and lightening knocked out power in night meaning no hot water in morning
