We thought the hotel catered for both our needs particularly the wildlife and the availability of the shops. We found our room very clean and comfortable and we had a beautiful view from the balcony. The staff were all very attentive but not to the point where they were intrusive, all our needs were catered for with a friendly chat and smile. The quality of the meals were superb from the full English with proper thick bacon to the evening meals with succulent steaks,I personally would recommend the lamb and duck.Well done to all the staff,we eagerly look forward to our next visit.

Set in the superb backdrop of dartmoor, a very clean well presented hotel, staff were all excellent and the owners warm and friendly, great value, ate in the steakhouse and was not disapointed, delicious turning out of the spacious car park you can just walk straight onto the moor behind, with great views would happily recommend this and will definately be back. for the price i couldnt find fault, however i'm sure there will be someone who expects to pay little and expect 5 star luxury None for the price

Absolutely stunning location, super friendly staff, impeccable cleanliness and décor throughout the hotel including the rooms, absolutely delicious food at the restaurant and great Cornish ale at the bar. Really a hotel can't get any better. This is not a big hotel chain - which shows in the personal treatment you get - you are clearly more than just a room number to the staff which is great! We only stayed overnight, but after the wonderful experience have decided to come back so we can enjoy the place at leisure.

Nice and friendly staff. Bedroom was nicely decorated and very clean. The Restaurant was excellent value for money. One of the best steaks I have ever had it was all delicious. The reception area and entrance needs updating but nothing major.

Hotel was easy to find and had excellent parking. We enjoyed our meals and can recommend the food/menu. Our room was clean and comfortable with excellent views of Dartmoor Park. It was a good base as we travelled to Plymouth to visit family. We both said we would return to the hotel for another longer short break.

Friendly staff. Clean facilities. Booked an alarm call, which did not happen. As it happens I do take my own alarm but always ask for a call as back-up. When working, it is vital a hotel provides this as a reliable service. The room was on the top floor, l shaped and claustraphobic.

A friendly and welcoming member of staff greeted us on arrival and showed us to recently refurbished and comfortable rooms with sensational views down to the sea. From the outside the hotel looks run down, but the bedrooms are well appointed and no doubt rennovetion will continue as the budget allows. The food was excellent. Quite a few cobwebs hanging around!

Oddly quaint if you like a rural setting with horses in the paddock next to the car park and dogs wandering around the hotel. Very friendly staff. I guess good for the price Very thin walls in the rooms and thus a lot of noise. A dirty toilet brush stuck in a glass holder without lid in the bathroom didn't do much to endear me to the place

We had a great sunset view from our room with a balcony overlooking Plymouth. The room wasn't large but clean and modern. The service was friendly and helpful. The hotel is about half hour drive to Princedown. The hot water pressure of the shower was weak.

Fantastic location with view over plymouth sound. Clean and recently decorated room. Very pleasant staff. Great to be able to bring our dog. Good food reasonably priced. Having recently had knee surgery the shower was very difficult to get in and out of. Bathroom looks very luxurious but isn't terribly practical to use.
