Excellent rooms, polite, friendly and very helpful staff. The views from the bar area are amazing, I would definitely recommend this hotel If your not an animal lover you may be put off by the dogs that live there but I didn't find this a problem at all, made it feel more homely.

Warm welcome from staff and accommodated last minute change of length of stay. Delicious and excellent value steak dinner with amazing views down from the moors to the sea. The single room was a good size, nicely decorated and included freeview and free wifi. The hotel allows guests to bring dogs into the hotel, which is great if you like dogs, but if like me you are not keen on them, could be off-putting. However, having said this it would not put me off returning or recommending the hotel to others - the benefits certainly outweigh this one downside.

This hotel is fantastic. We booked for one night and decided to extend our stay to three! All of the staff are cheerful and thoughtful, the rooms are spacious, immaculate and beautiful, and the views from the hotel from the edge of Dartmoor down to Plymouth harbour can't be beat. The breakfast is excellent. Definitely book for dinner at the restaurant, as well.

Oddly quaint if you like a rural setting with horses in the paddock next to the car park and dogs wandering around the hotel. Very friendly staff. I guess good for the price Very thin walls in the rooms and thus a lot of noise. A dirty toilet brush stuck in a glass holder without lid in the bathroom didn't do much to endear me to the place

Friendliness of staff, Quality of food and location The room was quite noisy as it was over the function room, the bar, the reception, the front door and next to the private quarters - so lots of through traffic (room no 1). The cost of the breakfast was on top of the room price which was not obvious when I booked.

We had a great sunset view from our room with a balcony overlooking Plymouth. The room wasn't large but clean and modern. The service was friendly and helpful. The hotel is about half hour drive to Princedown. The hot water pressure of the shower was weak.

Fantastic location with view over plymouth sound. Clean and recently decorated room. Very pleasant staff. Great to be able to bring our dog. Good food reasonably priced. Having recently had knee surgery the shower was very difficult to get in and out of. Bathroom looks very luxurious but isn't terribly practical to use.

We were upgraded to a suite because they were remodeling one of the floors. The room was quiet, clean and had great views of the Moor to the ocean! The on-site restaurant had great food and the staff was very friendly, just be sure to make reservations. Water pressure in the shower was fairly low.

This Hotel is set right in the middle of Dartmoor with stunning views and many sheep to dodge! Although the entrance, reception and common walkways were a little 'tired' in decor my room was a lovely surprise as it was very tastefully & recently furnished. The bathroom was large, extremely modern in concept with a free standing bath & seperate shower cubicle. The bed was very comfortable. The food was very good indeed at both dinner & breakfast. Having to leave quite so soon!

We had a room at the front of the hotel with a beautiful view. Lovely peaceful location but not far from Plymouth so easy to get around. Good steak restaurant on site so no need to go out at night.

“A warm and friendly welcome from the owners. The whole place exuded charm and comfort without ostentation. The room had every facility a traveller could need and was far superior to the 'boutique' room we stayed in on the following night. Will definitely return and spend more time exploring the area. ” Jane, Hollingworth, Hyde |
